"I never told you about Jules." Ashley flushed and looked down.
"I saw the picture. She really in beautiful."
"Yeah, she is. Mother of my child too."

~Ashley~

"Mother of you're what?!" I demanded, standing up.
"My child. Her name is Rosemary."
"You have a daughter." It wasn't a question.
"Do you have a picture?" Rome asked.
"Yeah, here." I handed over my phone. Rose was in a black T-shirt, black jeans, and was holding her pink rabbit my friend CC got her when she was born. Her hair was in blonde ringlets, but she wanted to dye it black. She had my eyes, but Juliet's nose.
"How old is she?" Andromeda asked?
"Four."
"You're only nineteen." Ashley told me, dumbfounded.
"I was drunk, and I really love Jules. I don't regret her. Ever. I just.. wish it could have been later. When I could have done right by her."
"What do you mean?"
"Jules will never marry me, but I could have given Rose a place that wasn't with my parents. She's deaf and it's my fault."
"I'm sure she's perfect." Ashley told me, patting my shoulder.
"She is. But she'll never hear my voice again. Never hear me telling her I love her." I knew my eyes had misted over.
"We'll talk about this later, okay Andy? Let's just get you home." Ashley pushed me back gently so he was in front, and made sure my helmet was on safely..
"Later Rome." He kissed her on the cheek and was drove off.
