A twisted little adventure...

---Katie’s POV---

“Buddy!” I called “Buddy?”
Though I love my dog buddy to no end. It really did get annoying with him running off all the time. And though he’s beautiful, he’s so big and I’m such a short ass that there’s often confusion over who’s walking who, he drags me along faster than my tiny feet can carry me half the time, which was the exact reason I had let him off of his lead today. It had been a hell of a long day at work today and I was too tired to play his games, so I was only taking him around the block; but that whole plan had turned into a train wreck after he ran off into a nearby forest. I usually walked him in the woods anyway, so it was no major problem, except for the fact he seemed to have vanished into thin air.
“Buddy!” I called out again “Buddy come here, lets go home.”
Where the fuck had he gone? I felt panic rise in my throat. I had had lovely Buddy since I was just 10 years old, and we had been best friends since the day I got him-When I was being bullied in middle school; Buddy was there
When my dad walked out in high school; Buddy was still there
Even when my mum got ill and I forgot to feed him for 2 days; Buddy was there.
And even now that I’m 20, I still need Buddy to stick by me, and keep me as happy and positive, as I nearly always am these days.
“Buddy!” I called again, this time more shrill than before. I couldn’t lose him!
“It’s okay.” I heard a deep voice reply, “I’ve got him!”
As I turned the corner I saw a figure dressed in all black, holding Buddy by the collar, gently and caringly, as though he had dogs himself.
“Oh my gosh thank you so much!” I gushed, running up to the man and my dog, giving Buddy a big scratch behind the ear.
“It’s no problem.” The man laughed, “I have dogs myself, I’m a sucker for the creatures!”
I laughed, “Me too! I couldn’t live without this one!” I gave Buddy a big cuddle. Thank god he was back!
“Well, he’s gorgeous.” The man smiled “though quite big for you, don’t you think? I’d wonder who was walking who!”
“Funnily enough, I get that all the time.” I replied.
“I’m not surprised! Anyway. Do you need any help getting home?” He asked, seemly innocently.
I really shouldn’t. I mean, my entire life I had been told not to get lifts from strangers. However nice this guy seemed, I shouldn’t trust a stranger.
“No, no, I’m fine thank you. Thanks for finding Buddy for me.” I smiled “pleasure meeting you though.”
“Oh dear, Katie. I thought this was going to be easy.” He said, his face suddenly deadly serious
I felt my heart drop in to my stomach.
What the fuck?
How did he know my name?
“Relax!” He laughed, loudly and fully, the sound of which was almost comforting in a strange way, “Its on the dogs collar- Katie Butcher, right?”
I felt stupid for not realizing it! He wasn’t some creep; it was just on the collar!
I laughed out loud, how ignorant of me!
“That’s me!” I chimed back, grinning “and you are?”
“Christian,” he replied “but most people call me CC.”
“Lovely to meet you, CC.” I said, shaking his hand.
“Now, are you sure I can’t tempt you with that lift home? I have a pretty amazing car.” He grinned.
“You know what, go on then.” I smiled. He seemed so sweet. And Christian. Now that was a hot name. Maybe I won’t regret this, I thought, as I climbed into his flash red sports car.

If only I had known that he wasn’t going to take me home. If only I had known that he wasn’t even taking me to his own hous. No, in fact, if only I had been smart. I would have rather had left Buddy, than have this happen. I would have rather anything but this…
