A Warrior Of Youth

Chapter Five: Hated

Lissa's POV

The next day I felt a bit better about going to school. Having Sandra around might make things a bit better. She seems to know what I'm going through. Besides she seems like a nice person.
I quickly threw on blue skinny jeans that had lots of rips and a black tank top.
I rushed downstairs, passing my mum as she was getting ready for work.
"Why you in such a rush?" My mum called as I was walking out the doorway.
"Uhhh, I have to pick up a friend. She lives around the corner."
"Oh, you made a friend? That's good to hear. I hope everything's okay at school" she said walking over to me.
"Yeah, its okay. It's different to what I'm use to."
"Good different or bad different?"
"Umm I haven't decided yet" I sad giving her an unsure look.
"Well you'll tell me or your father if something wrong, right?" She asked giving me the same look she gave me at Benji's funeral.
I gulped and nodded. If only she knew.
"I better go. Sandra is probably waiting for me" I said rushing out of the house before my mum could say anything further.
I could see that my parents were worried. They thought that maybe I would turn into Benji. I could it when they looked at me; they saw Benji.
I had to shake the thoughts of my twin once again. If I sunk to deep there was no resurfacing.
I drove around the corner to Sandra's and honked.
She came out the door and rushed to the car.
"About time. I almost thought you forgot" she complained.
"Sorry, my mum was holding me up. And I would never forget" I said giggling.
"Come on, just drive. We're gonna be late."

I only had two classes with Sandra. All my other classes I was alone. The other students still stared at me. Between classes I would pass Scout and she would give me a death glare, like she was out to get me. I wasn't scared of her. We were about the same size, I could take her. I knew they hated Sandra, hopefully they wouldn't pass too much of that hatred to me.
At lunch I met up with Sandra. When I saw her, she had dried tears on her face and her wrist was wrapped in fabric to look like a bracelet.
"Sandra, what happened?" I asked as she walked towards me.
"Nothing" she said sniffling.
"Nothing? Doesn't look like nothing."
"It was just one. Scout and her band of followers love to hassle me. I can't believe I use to be friends with them. Now they treat me like shit" she said wiping her smudged eyeliner.
"What happened between you and they CC guy?"
"We broke up just before summer started. We'd been going out for over a year, but I caught him cheating. I kept it quiet and forgave him, but he turned the story around on me and dumped me, saying I was the one who cheated. And of course, they all took his side and I was left with no friends. That's why they all hate me" she said adjusting the fabric on her wrist.
"That's horrible! What a dick! You don't need him" I said trying to comfort her.
"I know. It's just been a hard couple of months. I really wasn't looking forward to starting school again. I'm just glad I have no classes with CC."
"Actually CC is in our music class. You just didn't go yesterday."
"Great" she said sarcastically.
"It's okay. I'll be there. Besides, they piss me off too. Scout is like, out to get me. I'm sure Ella isn't far behind cause I was talking to Jake."
"I wouldn't surprise me if they start on you, so be prepared" she warned me.
"Yay" I said annoyed. I was already hated by association.

Once again, myself and Sandra arrived late to our music class, on purpose.
Mr Evans didn't call attention to our arrival, but beckoned us to his desk.
"Girls, I really don't appreciate you being late. Sandra, I'm not understanding what happened cause you used to love coming here. Drums were such a passion for you, so I want you to head into the back room and I want to be able to hear those drums from here. Go!" He barked at her.
Sandra rolled her eyes, but obeyed.
"Lissa, it's your second day at this school. You don't want to start to school year off like this. From what I heard yesterday, you have a lot of talent. I don't want to see it go to waste. So, keyboard. Now. I wanna hear the rest of that song" he demanded.
As I walked over to the keyboard I saw Scout glaring at me from one side of the room and Jake was continuously glancing at me from the other side. I tried to ignore them, but they were making me nervous.
I started over on Pushing Me Away and managed to get all the way through it without being interrupted.
I looked up at an intrigued Mr Evans.
"Bravo Lissa" he said with a smile spreading across his face.
"Really? I wasn't off key?" I questioned.
"Not at all. It was perfect. I would like you to try out something with more technique though. Do some research and I want you to have a song for tomorrow" he said walking away towards where Sandra was.
I sighed and plugged my headphones into the keyboard. I started to play Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. I sung the lyrics softly to myself when someone tapped me on the shoulder.
I glanced up from the keyboard and saw Jake standing over me.
"What do you want?" I said rudely.
"Nothing. I just saw you run out of class yesterday. Wanted to see if you were okay. Listen, don't hang around Sandra too much. I know how the others treat her. They'll treat you the same."
I quickly glanced in Scouts direction and saw her turn her head away. Shit. She knew I was talking to Jake.
"I'll hang out with whoever I want. Its not like anyone else has accepted me with open arms. And I'm fine. The song just hit a nerve."
"I'm just saying, its better to be kind of friends with me, than best friends with her."
"What do you care?! Don't you have a girlfriend?" I said snapping at him. He looked taken aback by my outburst.
"I don't know why I do. And yes I do have a girlfriend, but she has nothing to do with this. I'm just saying, everyone is tight at this school. You don't want to be in with the wrong people. Sandra is one of them."
"Well maybe she wouldn't be so hated if you guys knew the truth. And honestly, I shouldn't be hated for being friends with her. So tell your friends to back off."
"I'm just trying to watch out for you. By the way, did you skip biology yesterday?"
"Umm, yeah. Your friend Ashley made me feel very unwanted" I said sharply.
"Hey Jake! Get your ass in here! We need you!" I heard Jinxx call.
"In a sec" he called back. "Look, I have biology next class and I'll talk to you then?"
"Okay" I said uneasily.
He nodded then walked off to the other room.
I shook my head at the conversation I just had. Why did he care so much?

@Ravens tail 7
I hate endings too, but all stories must end somewhere. I know it was sad and all that shiz :P but I just thought not all stories have a happy ending. And thank you so much! I'm glad you still like it and dont hate me for killing Lissa. That was hard. I had originally thought for her to commit suicide, but then thought, what if she gets what she wants and goes home, but something as simple and common as a car crash seemed to kind of fit better with the whole being insignificant issue.

I know guys. You probably hate for doing that, but yeah.. if you read above in the other reply I explain my reasons. It just fit. I really wanted to kind of show that the Gandhi quote may be true in a way, but everything you do creates a ripple effect.

@TheOutlawAndAndy!! @bvbchika
Awwwww thank you! I was getting really sad when I wrote the part where Jake finds out.. They had just declared their love for each other again and the most horrific accident happens. I'm glad you like my last bit. I wanted to contradict the Gandhi quote cause not everything is insignificant.

It's weird when all you guys say I'm a good writer. I just get ideas. I don't know how or why, I just do. This is just a creative outlet for me that I love to do.
You guys can read my other stories if you haven't already.. My next story will be a spin off about CC and Kimber.... Already have ideas for them hahah
Thank you so much for commenting guys! I was freaking out when I saw 7 new comments and reading them makes me so happy! So literally, thank you so fucking much! I love you guys :) <3
