Bullets in a Music Box

Beijing [Part One]

When people tell you that China is more technologically advanced than the rest of the world, they aren't lying. The second we landed in Beijing, I was thrown for a loop. There were lights, everywhere. I had my hand wrapped around Andy's arm and we were walking towards the airport terminal to wait for our luggage. I've never actually been to China before. As I looked around, someone stopped next to me. I turned my head and saw Ashley.

"Enjoying the views?" He asked.

"I've never been to China before. It's beautiful," I gasped and Ashley laughed. Andy kissed the side of my head and I heard him chuckle.

"Don't move, I am so taking in the ASA moment!" I heard Charlie exclaim and then I looked forward to see him holding his phone up and going to take a picture.

"ASA?" Ashley, Andy, and I all asked at the same time.

"Ashley, Sadee, Andy. ASA," Charlie explained and I rolled my eyes.

"Only my nephew would be that weird," I said and Andy nodded.

"Got that right. Let's go grab our shit, shall we?" He asked and all of us walked to the luggage belt and grabbed our things. We are in Beijing for three days. Today is an off day, no interviews, no photo shoots, no concert, no nothing. Except for Charlie's mini set later. Tomorrow is filled with interviews, photo shoots, and appearances. Then the third day is the concert. We all walked out to the area that Jon told us to go to and waited for the car to pull up. When it did, we all climbed in and settled for the rather long car ride to the hotel.

When we got to the hotel and finally got up to our room, the first thing I did was look out the window and the terrific view we had.

"I am so happy right now," I said and heard Andy chuckle from behind me before his arms snaked around my waist.

"Are you now?" He asked.

"It's so pretty," I said.

"Wait until night falls, it's better," he said and kissed the side of my neck.

"No, not right now, there is a Charlie sitting on the bed behind us," I whispered to him and he chuckled mischievously. I turned around and faced him, he was looking down at me through those eyes a guy gets when he's in the bedroom. I licked my lip and smirked at him.

"Could you guys keep it PG?" I heard Charlie ask and I lost it laughing. I was trying to be a tease, but apparently Charlie thought differently.

"Depends on your definition of PG," Andy said and turned to face him. Charlie gave him a look and I smiled before smacking Andy's ass and sprinting to the bathroom and closing the door. A laugh left my mouth and then someone banged on the door. I jumped before falling to the floor laughing. The door opened and I looked up and saw Andy giving me a sarcastic look.

"Did you really just smack my ass?" He asked. I nodded and laughed again.

"I'm gonna leave you on the floor," he said and walked out of the bathroom.

"But I'm lazy! I don't wanna get up!" I called back and heard him chuckle. I sighed before getting off the floor and walking out into the room. Andy was sitting on the bed, on his phone, and Charlie was writing stuff down.

"Damn kid, you are spewing songs out left and right," I said and plopped down at the end of his bed. He looked at me and shrugged.

"If I want a full length album, and not an EP, I have to," he said.

"Your mini set is in like four hours, what songs are you gonna sing?" I asked.

"Victim, Where Were You?, and like three new ones," he said.

"New ones? What are they?" I asked. He handed me a paper from his notebook and I looked down at it. Victim, Where Were You, Darling, Exception, Where I Belong. Wait, Where I Belong is Andy's song.

"You're letting him sing Where I Belong?" I asked Andy and he looked up from his phone.

"Yeah, why?" He asked.

"Cause, I thought you wanted to keep the Andy Black songs secret till the album comes out," I said. He shrugged and bit his lip.

"I do, but Charlie would do the song justice," he said and I nodded.

"Seems legit, am I gonna be on stage with you?" I asked.

"Yeah, and you're gonna sing one of your songs," he said.

"I never agreed to that Charlie," I said.

"I know, but, they all love you too, so why not?" He asked.

"Cause my songs are all sad as fuck," I said. He shrugged and went back to writing. I flopped down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. My eyes fluttered closed and I began to think. Would becoming a recording artist be the worst thing in the world? My songs would be sung by me and for my fans. I would get my own tour, my own opportunity to sing my songs to thousands of people. Hell, I could go on Warped Tour, because who wouldn't? I could break away from my damn mother's country bullshit mold she forced me into. I have enough songs to make an EP, and I know I can work a crowd while performing. Out of nowhere, I felt some one jump on top of me and almost crush me. I gasped and screeched loudly before opening my eyes to see Charlie laughing his ass of while staring at me.

"What the fuck is your problem Charlie?" I exclaimed he kept laughing.

"You had this serious pout on your face and I decided to get rid of it," he shrugged after rolling off of me.

"Now my ribs hurt," I complained and sat up.

"What were you thinking about?" I heard Andy ask. I turned to face him.

"Stuff. I'll be right back, I gotta go make a phone call," I said and got off the bed and walking out of the room. I know I probably shouldn't call Tyler, but I feel like I need his opinion on this. I quickly dialed his number as I walked down the stairs and out the front of the hotel. Thank the lord no fans were chilling outside. The phone rang a couple times before he answered.

"Hello," he said.

"Hey Tyler, it's Sadee," I said.

"Hey, what's up?" He asked.

"Well, I don't know if you've heard, but for the last couple shows, I've been going out on stage and performing with Andy," I said.

"I'm well aware of it, and I actually encourage it," he said.

"Okay well, it got me thinking, maybe being a recording artist wouldn't be the worst thing," I said.

"So you're reconsidering being a singer?" He asked.

"Maybe. Now I'm not saying that I am ready to just jump onto the recording train and make an album. I'm just tossing the idea around," I said.

"Jon sent me a video of you performing Paris with Andy, and Sadee, you were into it. The crowd loved you, hell, they paid more attention to you than they did Andy," he chuckled.

"I know, but we were kinda doing a competition. But that is besides the point. I wanted to know your opinion on it," I said.

"On you becoming a recording artist?" He asked.

"Yeah," I said and waited for him to answer. From beside me, I heard the hotel door open and Ashley appeared. He saw me and got a smile before walking over to me and leaned against the wall.

"Well Sadee. As the label head, I say, it is a great idea. You are young, you are beautiful, you are dedicated to music, you are talented, and most of all, you are kind of dating the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in rock music right now. So, yes, I think it is a great idea and I think that you could make it so far in the industry. And you could probably skip right over Warped Tour and go straight into opening for bigger bands or having your own headlining tour," he paused before speaking again. "As your brother, I say do whatever feels right to you. If you feel like you want to become a singer, do it. If you feel like being a songwriter will work better, all the better. I support you with whatever choice you make. Now, as a fan of yours, I say, I would love to hear an album from you. I would love to hear songs that you have been working on with Andy, with Charlie, with yourself. But, in the end, the decision is up to you, and I hope you would choose my label as your label." I felt a tear begin to fall down my face.

"Thank you for the input Tyler. One final question. Would it be worth my while to do it?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I mean, do you think that I would last in the industry? Would I really be able to make it big on my own?" I asked.

"I think that solo artists in the rock genre are becoming a big thing. Look at Juliet Simms, she is a solo artist in the rock genre and she has a lot of fans and has her own tours," he said. At the mention of Juliet, I felt my chest tighten.

"Yeah, please don't compare me to Juliet Simms," I said. When her name left my mouth, I saw Ashley's head perk up and he looked at me.

"I'm not comparing you to her Sadee. I'm saying that rock music isn't all bands. Solo artists are just as popular. And you should consider it. Because I believe, deeply believe, that you would make it. Hell you'd be bigger than Juliet," he chuckled.

"Okay, thank you. Um, I should probably go. Charlie's mini set is soon and I am being forced to go on stage with him," I said.

"Well, if you ever need guidance on this, or anything, call me," he said.

"Okay," I said and hung up. I held my phone to my chest and sighed.

"Tyler?" Ashley asked.

"Yep," I said.

"I thought you hated him," he said. I smiled and looked at Ashley.

"I needed some advice on something. What are you doing out here?" I asked.

"I needed some fresh air," he said. I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder. I am glad that I have Ashley as a friend. If Andy were ever not available I know that Ashley would be the first one to be there for me.

Notes

Well, yes, wonderfulness! So we got to see more dorky Sadee and Andy. We got to see a grossed out Charlie. We got to see Sadee making a tough decision. We also got to see Sadee and Tyler having a civilized conversation about music! Note that I am still going back and forth with the whole Sadee being a recording artist thing. If I do decide that, there may be a third installment in this series. But, that is still pretty far off so........ Hope you liked it!!!

Smiles! (As Always!)

{If you want me to have Sadee become a recording artist, please comment. I'm not getting comments and that might be why I'm not updating as much, cause I don't know if you all like it. So yeah, I need your input! Should Sadee become a singer?}
