Bullets in a Music Box

Paris [Part Two]

Andy's hand was wrapped in mine as the car drove down the road. We are on the way to my Kerrang! interview. When Cloe told me yesterday that Tyler was the one who told Kerrang! about me, I got pissed off. He knew I had only wanted to be a songwriter, he even changed my contract with the label. A sigh escaped my lips and I felt Andy kiss the side of my head and rub my hand with his thumb.

"Are you nervous?" He asked.

"No, just thinking of what Cloe told me yesterday," I said.

"Who's Cloe?" He asked.

"Oh, yeah, she was my stylist person yesterday for the photo shoot," I said. Andy nodded and then the car came to a stop. We both climbed out and walked into the building that we agreed to meet at and I saw a few people from the magazine that I had met at the photo shoot yesterday. They all smiled at me and then ushered me to a chair, and put a microphone on my shirt.

"Why is there a mic?" I asked.

'We are voice recording it," the tech person said and I nodded. Andy was standing next to me and had his arms crossed.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing, I'm just a little proud of you right now," he said.

"Why?" I chuckled.

"Because, you are getting your own article in Kerrang! magazine," he said and then the interviewer walked out quickly and sat down.

"Hey Andy, sorry to say it, but you're gonna have to stand behind that line over there," she said and Andy nodded before kissing me and walking behind the line. The interviewer shuffled the papers in her hand and smiled at me.

"I'm Sarah," she held her hand out and I shook it.

"Sadee," I said. She smiled before glancing at the tech guy and he gave her a thumbs up.

"Alright, thank you Sadee for doing this interview. We at Kerrang are really excited for this, but I am probably the most excited. I love your song The Day You Left," Sarah said and I smiled.

"Thank you," I smiled.

"You're welcome. Well, to start, how are you feeling?" She asked.

"I'm good. Paris is beautiful and I'm not too jetlagged," I smiled and she nodded.

"I know you probably hate being asked about your mom, but, what is it like being her child and yet being in a completely different genre of music?"

"Well, it's quite liberating. My mom has always been this big personality in my life that I didn't necessarily um, attach or associate with. I've always been that quiet and reserved kid. And being Lori Ann Christian's daughter, that was a thing people saw and questioned. But being in the rock genre is awesome. The music is so much more meaningful and put across a great message," I said and she nodded.

"What are your opinions on country music?"

"I don't hate it, but I don't listen to it. Well, I listen to it when I am thinking about home or my dad or something to do with Nashville," I said.

"I promise the mom questions are ending soon," Sarah chuckled before continuing. "What was it like growing up in that atmosphere?"

"In the country atmosphere?" I asked. Sarah nodded and I cleared my throat before answering.

"When I was really young, before age ten, I didn't mind it. I got to go on tour with my mom and go around the world and see things that most ten year olds dream of seeing. But as I grew older, I shied away from that. I took my dad's death hard when I was twelve, even though he had died three years earlier. And, I think that is what turned me away from country and what made me figure out my own thing," I said.

"Okay, no more mom questions, but about your dad. Were you super close to him? And if you were, does he have a big influence on your music you write?"

"Um, I was close to my dad. My mom was always gone on tour and when I wasn't with her, I was in Nashville with my dad and older sister. And yes, he does have quite a big influence on the songs I write. The Day You Left is actually about him," I said and Sarah gave me wide eyes.

"It is? Well, I'm glad he is giving you good influence. Um, onto your music, what genre do you write? We know that you were hired originally to work with Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides on his little side project Andy Black, but do you write rock and metal, or do you write alternative?"

"Um, I think it depends on who I'm writing with. My nephew Charlie, he writes songs and when I'm writing with him, it's more of a Pierce the Veil/Sleeping With Sirens kind of genre. But with Andy it's more rock and metal, or soft rock. But for the most part, I write rock music," I said. She nodded and flipped through her papers.

"You've said on multiple occasions that you are not interested in being a performer or singer at all, why?" She asked.

"Well, originally it was because I refused to be anything like my mother. She is a singer/songwriter and tours and stuff like that. I despised her with a passion for a long time, I still kind of do, but I didn't want to be like her. I didn't want to be associated with her. I didn't want to be her. But now, it's more of a I am enjoying writing songs and watching from backstage at Black Veil Brides concerts. It's a different atmosphere backstage and I enjoy it," I answered.

"Speaking of Black Veil Brides. The other night in Berlin, I believe, you went out on stage and sang two songs with Andy. And, damn girl, you have a set of rock pipes on you. You got into the song, you interacted with the crowd, it was as if we were watching you perform and not Black Veil Brides. What did you think about that?"

"I enjoyed that as well. But I'm not quite sure if I want to make it a full time thing. Singing on stage with Andy is exhilarating. The crowd goes wild for the band and I'm thinking they like me too," I laughed and stole a glance up at Andy, who was laughing silently to himself.

"Would you consider being a singer?"

"I might one day, but right now. I am good with chilling with the band on their tour bus and being friends and being a kinda crew member," I smiled.

"Okay, that ends the businessy questions. Now comes the funny questions. Mind you, these questions will get slightly inappropriate. You are in a relationship with Andy, what is your guys relationship like?" Sarah asked.

"Um, well. We are both huge dorks and show that off at each other all the time. I pick on him and he picks on me. We are basically best friends who have sex and have that label of boyfriend/girlfriend," I smiled and Sarah laughed.

"Alright, you brought it up first, what is your sex life like?" I looked over at Andy and saw him holding back a laugh.

"Well, to be honest, fucking amazing," I chuckled and Sarah laughed before looking at Andy.

"I think Andy agrees," she said. I looked at him and he was bent over laughing.

"See, he's big old dork," I laughed and Sarah chuckled before looking at her papers.

"Okay, that is all the time we have. Thank you Sadee, and Andy, for being here with us. We will hopefully be able to put this in the next issue," Sarah said and we shook hands before she walked away. I handed the mic over to the tech guy and Andy walked over to me and was still laughing.

"Don't even," I said as we walked out of the building and into the car. Now off to the concert.

Lights were shining everywhere and the drums were really loud tonight. I was dancing backstage and Charlie was video taping it. I kept messing up and laughing. From the stage, I heard my name, which forced me to look over. Andy was talking about me and Ashley was laughing.

"What is he talking about?" Charlie asked from next to me.

"Who knows? He's a big dork and he likes to hear himself talk," I crossed my arms and saw Andy glance over at me. I stuck my tongue out and he began the next song.

"Is it true you're gonna be in the next Kerrang! issue?" Charlie asked.

"It is. Why? Do you read Kerrang!?" I asked.

"I do actually. That's pretty awesome Aunt Sadee. Were you serious last night when you were talking about becoming a singer?" He asked.

"I'm thinking about it. It's fun going out on stage and singing with Andy and seeing the crowd interact with you," I said.

"I know. At my next mini set, you should sing one of your songs," he said.

"My songs are all sad," I said.

"And mine aren't? We can write a song together," he said. I put my arm around his shoulders and he smiled. From next to me, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I looked and saw a sound guy handing me a mic. Well, I guess I'm going back out there. The song ended and then Andy motioned for me to come out on stage.

"Because I know that you all love her, Sadee Christian everyone!" Andy said and the crowd went absolutely wild. They screamed my name and jumped up and down.

"Hello Paris!" I yelled into the mic and the crowd screamed. I smiled big and stood next to Andy. He put his arm around my shoulder and then the music started. Devil in the Mirror. I bobbed my head to the music and we both stood there and waited. Andy started singing and I watched him. I joined in just before the chorus and walked around the stage. We rocked out together. I smiled at the crowd and they screamed back. My picture was taken so many times. When Jake was doing his solo, I air guitared next to him and he was smiling the whole time. Andy was over by Ashley. At one point, Andy let me take over, right after the guitar solo. But he joined back in shortly after. When we finished, I was out of breath and Andy was smiling like an idiot.

"Alright guys, I have a proposition," I said.

"What?" Andy asked.

"Andy and I are going to battle it out with you guys in the audience. Whoever gets the most attention and screaming while we do the next song, wins," I said.

"And what does the winner get?" Andy asked, smirk plastered on his face.

"I guess you'll have to see," I did the eyebrow dance and he shook his head before Sons of Night started. I am so winning this. I climbed up on the grate thing and waved at the audience. I head banged for a second before kneeling down and reaching out to the crowd while Andy started singing. They were all eating my attention up. Andy was trying to get their attention from the stage but I was making it hard, since he was staring at me. When I started singing, I skipped back and forth on the grate and head banged with the guitar. Andy took his turn up on the grate while I climbed up by CC and dance over by him. CC was smiling and shaking his head. When I began singing again, I took a dare and jumped off the platform onto the stage. When I landed I felt a sharp pain go up my leg, but I ignored it. I walked up to the grate and danced up there to the music. Andy had climbed off stage and was walking on a mini walkway off to the side. I shook it off and air guitared with Jake again. The crowd was taking pictures of me as Andy and I began a mini sing off with the lyrics. When we finished, the crowd was going absolutely wild. And I'm pretty sure it's the loudest they've been.

"Damn Sadee, I did not know you had that in you," Andy said and I smiled.

"The jumping thing?" I asked. Andy nodded and I sighed.

"My leg hurts now," I smiled and he rolled his eyes.

"That is what you get for trying to be better than me. Okay, guys, you think Sadee should do one more song?" Andy asked. I gave him and look but the crowd screamed.

"How about In The End?" I asked.

"Whatever you say my dear," Andy said before he wrapped his arms around me and gave me a quick kiss, which the crowd ate up. The music started and I shook my head at him. We walked around stage, I mainly stayed on the grate, but I did go up by CC once. When the song was over, Andy said their goodbye's and we all walked off stage.

"I feel like I broke something in my leg," I limped over to a stool and Andy gave me concerned eyes.

"Seriously?" He asked.

"No, I would know if my leg was broken," I said as I rubbed my calf. He flipped me off and I smiled.

"Speaking of that, I'm pretty sure I won that little contest we had out there," I said.

"I let you win," Andy said.

"Uh huh sure. Wanna know what the winner gets?" I asked.

"What?" Andy asked. I motioned for him to come over by me. When he was standing over me, I whispered in his ear.

"We are gonna have so much fun tonight," I said.

"What about Charlie?" He whispered back.

"Hey Charlie!" I called and Charlie popped up from behind a speaker.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"You're gonna chill in Ashley's room tonight, alright?" I asked. Charlie and Ashley have grown close and I know he won't mind.

"Whatever," he said and went back to whatever he was doing.

"The Charlie problem is solved," I bit my lip and Andy gave me a look before grabbing my hand. Sometimes, he is very impatient.

Notes

Whoop Whoop! Kerrang interview done. They had a competition and Sadee won, and we all know what the winner gets. I haven't quite decided if Sadee is going to become a singer get. If you think she should, please comment. I am still figuring that out. There aren't that many solo rock artists nowadays, so I am thinking about that. Hope you liked it!!!
