Numb

Chapter VI

Courtney's POV:

I'm not going to lie, there were major tears the day we left. Mostly from Gran. I of course shed some tears as well, but Gran beat me on the sobbing department.

She clung to Ash and I, blubbering and defiantly embarrassing the two of us equally. That felt amazing mind you, being able to share the embarrassment done by my grandmother. Papa didn't say much, he helped Ashley unload our luggage, and bid his farewells, kissing my cheek lightly. He was the only one who managed to drag Gran away from her two moderately grown-up grandchildren.

Ash wore dark sunglasses the entire time in the airport, keeping me close to his side. Probably hiding himself and me from fans. After we'd taken our seats on the plane, (I got the window seat of course!) we began to bicker over tiny details that were mostly irrelevant. Ash mocked my taste in movie to watch, (Divergent) even though he wasn't watching it! I pouted when he refused to buy me a KitKat, and teased him over the fact that he drank a Pepsi at 6:00am flight.

After our petty five minutes of acting like siblings for once, we began to act like civil adults. He told me I could paint my room any colour, and decorate it anyway I wanted, (which, granted I was going to do whether he liked it or not) and set down basic rules.

  1. Curfew was 11:00pm on school nights, weekends didn't have curfew
  2. Drinking was kept to a minimum
  3. Don't smoke or do drugs
  4. No boys or sex

I was fine with all of them, except for the final rule. I guess he was just playing the part of "older brother", but really? No boyfriends? That was entire bullshit.

So in turn, I made rules for my dear older brother.

  1. No whores allowed
  2. No partying when I have school the next day
  3. No drugs or cigarettes in the house
  4. No being a dick to me

We both shared a laugh after that, more or less agreeing to each other's strange rulings. But I was okay with that, as long as I wasn't left in the dust again.

After the plane landed in L.A. I felt amazing, light as air. I was finally living my dream life, in my dream city. The weather was extraordinary, warm and sunny like I'd always imagined. Ash had explained that the glory of California wore off after like an hour, and in en minutes I'd be dying of heat.

We we quickly made it through the airport, ducking into Ashley's car and driving towards his house. My new house.

When we arrived, I was practically jumping out of my seat. A huge smile broke out on my face when we pulled into the driveway.

"Ready?" Ashley asked me eagerly.

I nodded ecstatically, my body aching to be free of the construction of the car. Ash unlocked the car doors, allowing for me to escape from the metal prison on wheels. i leapt from
the vehicle, snatching Ash's keys as I did so, and sprang to the front door of his huge house. I unlocked the door as fast as my fingers would allow and pushed the door open wide.

I shrieked as four grown men pounced on me, tackling me in a huge hug. The laughed at horrified expression, as I desperately tried to fill my lungs with air again.

"Ashley?" I squeaked out, "why are Black Veil Brides in your house? Hugging me?"

"Your house now, missy," Ash smirked from behind me, "guys! Give the girl some space!"

At that, they all jumped away from me, apologizing quietly and glancing at their feet.

I smiled at their sudden shyness, "hi, I'm, I'm Courtney. Ash's little sister. And no point in introducing yourselves, since I obviously know who you guys are. And thanks, you kinda changed my life."

They looked up, and smiled, "well, I'm Andy, even though you said no sappy introductions." Andy said with a slight chuckle, giving me a hug. He was an amazing hugger, and my cheeks heated at the contact.

Why? Because I may have a slight crush on Andy Biersack. Okay, a huge crush.

Notes

I loved writing this chapter!

Q: do you guys like Courtney's pic? I'm not in love with it, so I may change it :/

Hi, I love your fanfiction but I wanted to talk to you about your brother. My advice is don't waste your time hating him. Life is too short and relationships with your siblings are too important. Trust me.
