Numb

Courtney's POV:

I woke up surprisingly early the following day, and considering how late I went to sleep, I'm a bit shocked at myself. I woke up snuggled against Andy, and I have to say it was the best sleep of ever had.

He look adorable sleeping. All the stress gone from his face, and the lines from his face are smoothed out completely. Beneath his closed lids his baby blue eyes are moving, causing for the thin skin flutter slightly. His dark hair is dishevelled and separate strands are falling onto his creaseless forehead. His breathing is shallow and light, his well-built chest going up and down with each breath. He looks truly incredible, and god-like.

I lean up on my elbows so I can get a closer look at this amazing human being in front of me. I gently reach a hand forward to brush the silky hair back from his forehead, the strands slipping between my fingers. He begins to stir slightly, and he brings one of his hands up to grasp my own. I suck in a quick breath, surprised by his sudden movement, and rest our joined hands into his rising and falling chest.

Andy's eyes begin to move wildly beneath his closed lids, and then they suddenly snap open, hastily scouring the room. When his baby blue gaze meets my dark green one, he instantly relaxes. Andy sits up, and pulls me into his embrace, burying his head into my tangled hair and inhaling deeply.

"I thought you were gone, and in danger." He breathes out, still hiding his face.

My heart swells at his declaration, and I bring my hands up to wind them into his hair, soothing him and repeating his name, calmly.

"I'm here, it's okay. I'm not going anywhere Andy." I promise as he pulls away.

"Sorry, I just... Nightmare." He explains, to which I nod in understanding.

I smile at him and stroke his cheek lightly, and he leans into my touch, smiling at me softly.

I move myself closer to him, the air suddenly tense between us. My heart begins to pound wildly in my chest as we begin to lean even closer to each other. Just before I close my eyes, I catch Andy's eyes directed at my lips. He bites his own lip in anticipation and he reaches out for me, tugging me into his lap. I tilt my head up for that it's more level with his, and he tilts his down. I place my hands nervously on his shoulder, bringing us even closer than before.

Just as our lips are about to touch, the doorknob jiggles, and my door opens revealing my brother. Andy and I spring apart immediately as my brother bursts into my room, his eyes widening and then narrowing at the two of us.

"Morning you too. Sleep well?" He asks, malice dripping from every syllable, his eyes glaring daggers at Andy.

They almost kissed, but then they didn't.
Well, I'm still hoping to lead things up to the big kiss scene, I want it to be amazing! Lol
