Love, Hate, Magic, and the Past

*Jake's POV*
I watched as Jinxx was loaded onto the stretcher and brought out to the ambulance. Andy didn't explain what happened he just left with the ambulance. My vision blurred and I walked away from the door. How did I not notice? I grabbed my car keys and yelled at the others to get ready and get in the car.
I sat there in my car, my vision was still blurry, a tear fell. Just one. Then another. I slammed my head on the steering wheel and the horn went off. I startled Kate, who was walking around the car, she let out a small scream. I didn't look up. She got in the car and the others followed. Andy called and told us where the hospital was. He sounded really sad. I was more pissed than sad. Because I didn't notice what was happening.
"JAKE!!!" Kate yelled. She grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it towards her. We narrowly missed the car ahead of us. Her hand was still on the wheel and her fingers were white. Kate's face was pale, she slowly let go of the wheel.
"Kate?" CC asked, leaning into the front seat where she and I were sitting.
"I'm fine." She said. "I just don't want to crash...bad memories." She glanced over at me and I paled a little bit. I turned back to the road. CC looked confused but he didn't say anything.
*flashback* (about a 2 years ago)
"Jake?"
"Yeah, Kate?"
"I wanna go shopping."
"Woah....Kate wants to go shopping?" Andy asked.
"Yes....is that a problem?" Kate asked.
"No. It's just weird. You said you don't like shopping."
"Yeah....but I want to get more band shirts and stuff."
"Rightttttt...." Andy said.
"Anyone want to come?" I asked.
"I'll go." Jinxx said. I nodded and Kate left to get ready. I told her we would wait in the car. Jinxx and I went out to the car. Jinxx sat in the back so Kate could sit in the front. She ran into the garage and then into the car. When we got to the mall she grabbed my hand and dragged me to Hot Topic. She didn't let go of me until she had to pay. After Hot Topic, we went into a music store. She went over the all the instruments and another girl came up to her. They talked for a while and they exchanged phone numbers.
"Kitten?" It was the nickname I used for Kate. Since she curled up like a cat when she was cold.
She looked up. "You ready to go? Cause I have to bring you back at 3 and it's 2 right now."
"Yeah." I grabbed her hand and Jinxx made a heart with his hands. Kate went a little pink. Jinxx came up behind us and he picked up Kate. She screamed and yelled. "Jake!!! Help!" I ran after Jinxx and grabbed Kate from him. She wrapped her arms around me. "Thanks for saving me, Jake."
"You're welcome, Kitten." She looked up at me. Without noticing what I was doing, I kissed her. She kissed back and when we pulled apart, Jinxx yelled "I WAS RIGHT!!!" that made everyone in the store look at us. Kate went red and she smiled shyly. I grabbed her hand and made Jinxx carry the bags. We got in the car and headed back home. I saw a pickup truck coming our way and it was in our lane. I pulled over to the next lane and when I looked back to see if I could move over another lane, Kate yelled "JAKE!!!"
I whipped my head around to see the truck hit us. Kate screamed and Jinxx yelled.
*end of flashback*
I gripped the steering wheel tightly. I knew that I looked scared.
"Jake?" Kate asked in a small voice.
"I'm ok. I-"
"Jake..." she said sternly. "Are you ok?"
"...yeah."
Kate didn't look convinced. We were almost at the hospital. I could handle this.
"Jake." Kate said again.
"Kate." I said mocking her tone.
"Don't lie. Are you ok?"
"No. I fucked up pretty badly, didn't I?" She nodded. "I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking."
"It's ok." We pulled into the hospital parking lot. I looked in the backseat and saw three very confused people. I sighed and got out of the car. I wasn't going to explain what happened, especially to CC.
*Andy's POV*
I was waiting for the doctors to come back to the waiting room. But instead, in walked Jake and Kate, who were both pale. A confused Ashley, a sad Kira, and a slightly mad CC. "What did he do?" Kate asked. I told them what happened. As soon as I did, Kate got up and walked out. Shortly after, I heard yelling.
"What do you mean I can't punch a wall? My best friend and the person I look up to tried to kill himself and he might have succeeded! How can I not be mad?! Don't tell me to calm down!!! I can punch anything I want! Just be happy it isn't you!!!!"
The voices got louder and I assumed they were walking towards us.
"You can't just make me leave without seeing him. You can't make me do anything!!!!"
Kate was being pushed, by a nurse, into the room. CC got up and put an arm around her. She cried into his chest.
"Control her, will you?"
"Hey, how could she not react like that? Why don't you just fuck off and leave her alone." CC said. The nurse huffed and walked away.
The doctor walked in and asked for me. I got up and walked with him.
"It was a good thing you got there when you did. He had long sleeves on, correct?" I nodded. "He hid the cuts really well."
"What do you mean?"
"All up and down his arm. He cut everywhere he could reach, that's what we think. There was on on his stomach what was pretty bad. He had also taken some sleeping pills beforehand, that's why he passed out. Or he fainted from blood loss then the pills started working. He should be awake by tomorrow. You can come see him, but only 2 at a time."
"Ok."
"He's lucky to be alive." The doctor led me back to the waiting room I motioned for me to follow me. The doctor gave brought us to Jinxx's room. Then he left. Jinxx looked so peaceful. His eyes were closed and he didn't have an expression on his face. I looked over at Jake, there were tears on his face.
"How did I not know this was happening?" Jake asked.
"No one knew. It's not your fault."
He fell silent. "Jinxx, I wish you had come to us....and told us. We could have worked it out. Please don't leave us...." I said then I whispered. "Please don't leave me. I need you."
