ANDY'S POV
Mr. Dumphy allowed me to finish the rest of the school day. It pissed me off how Max only had a detention and i got suspended. Being a vampire himself, the principle should have known how protective we are over our mates. It was utter bullshit and i wasn't looking forward to not being by Alex's side during school. Sure the guys would be with her, but not as much as i typically was. She was going to be alone a good chunk of the school day and that made me feel uneasy. It was obvious that Max wasn't finished with her yet, so when Alex would go around by herself she practically walked with a giant target on her back.
We were outside eating lunch in a secluded part, only 5 other students out with us. It was oddly warm for the winter so we decided to take advantage of it.
"That sucks man. If only he knew what Max did, he'd probably be more understanding." Jinxx sighed. I nodded in agreement as i played around with a piece of string on my ripped skinny jeans.
"But i couldn't tell him. I don't wanna get any more people involved, y'know?"
I noticed Alex lay her head down on the table tiredly. She was fighting to keep her eyes open as she stared off into the distance.
"You okay baby?" I asked, rubbing her back comfortingly. Alex shook her head before turning it to face the other way. Once again i'm being shut out. I thought we got over this?
"Just tired." She spoke simply. She was freezing and she didn't eat at all that day. I felt bad. I was so caught up in making sure she was healthy and that i could go talk to the Head Master about what Max did that i didn't actually make many attempts to get her to eat.
"Are you hungry?" I enquired, already knowing the answer. Alex chuckled dryly, the vibrations of her laugh tickling my hand as i rubbed it up and down her protruding spine. She sat up abruptly, so fast the little amount of color she had left drained completely out of her face. I noticed little droplets of sweat on her forehead despite her freezing temperature and she started to sway back and fourth. Before i could even think, Alex tipped back all the way and fell off her seat. I shot up, alongside the others, and rushed to her.
"Alex, are you okay? Come on speak to me." I rambled nervously. I laid Alex's head on my lap and ran my fingers through her faded purpled hair. She wasn't responding to me, making me extremely worried for her.
"Alex please. Speak to me baby. Please." I begged. I heard Jinxx call for help and felt Ashley kneel down beside me, but all i was focusing on was Alex.
In that moment she looked so lifeless and broken, it actually brought tears to my eyes. She was so pale and sickly skinny that i was surprised she was still alive. It felt like forever went by before paramedics came. Since i was her mate and they were vampires too, i was allowed to go in the ambulance with her. Jinxx, Jake, and CC couldn't leave the school so they agreed to stop by once they got out. I held Alex's hand in mine as tears fell down my face the entire way to the hospital.
I was now sat in the ER waiting room. It was frightening how once we got to the hospital the paramedics hauled Alex off into a room. I was bent over with my head in my hands praying to whatever is up there that Alex would be okay.
"Andy Biersack?" A voice called out. I looked up quickly to see a middle aged man in a doctor's coat. I stood up and approached the doctor.
"That's me."
"We have your girlfriend stable. although she is incredibly malnourished to the point where her organs began to shut down. My colleagues and i are positive that she has an eating disorder. Did you know anything about that?" The doctor asked. I was silent for a moment as i let the new information sink in.
"Yes. She got over an eating disorder about 6 or 7 months ago, but i had no idea it was back till a few days ago." I said. The man nodded and frowned sympathetically.
"We examined her body and it was obvious she has been purging by the looks of her finger nails and teeth. Also her temperature is incredibly low. I recommend you get her some professional help or admit her into an eating disorder clinic. This is all up to you so if not, i highly recommend you do not let her out of your sight and you make sure she eats three meals a day. It's going to be hard but her health is at stake. Now, would you like to see her?" The doctor explained. I nodded eagerly and followed the man down a hallway before stopping in front of room 211.
"She should be awake soon. There is some apple juice and crackers on the table beside her bed so make sure she eats those when she wakes up." The doctor smiled once more. I thanked him before quickly stepping into the room.
I sat down in the chair placed next to her bed so i could be comfortable till she woke up. It broke my heart to see her like this, to recall what the doctor said to me about a possible clinic. How could i let get so serious? Alex started mumbling incoherent things and began shuffling around in her bed, signalling that she was waking up. I sat forward and watched her as her eyes fluttered open.
"W-where am i? What happened?" She asked groggily. I grabbed her hand and mine and rubbed my thumb over her knuckles.
"You're in the hospital baby. You passed out. The doctor said you're extremely malnourished and your organs began slowly shutting down. I was so scared, you weren't responding to me." I spoke softly. Alex broke our eye contact and looked towards the door before taking a deep breathe and making eye contact with me again. Her eyes were glossy and filled with tears.
"I'm sorry." She apologized. I shook my head and moved so that i was sitting on her bed next to her.
"Do not be sorry. You can't help it. But you're slowly getting worse and it needs to stop. I know it's going to be a long and hard process, but i know you can do it. You're so unbelievably strong and i'll be right there by your side the entire way. I love you Alexandra Marie Dawson, and i will not let this control your life any longer." I said. Alex nodded and smiled before wrapping her skinny arms around my neck and straddling my legs. We stayed like that for a while, enjoying each others embrace. She planted sweet kisses on the feather tattoo on my neck.
"I'm scared. I wanna get better, i do, i'm just not ready for the emotional strain it's gonna put on me. Well, most likely us since i'll probably be a bitch to you and make you hate me." Alex frowned against my neck. The vibrations from her lips on my flesh sent shivers down my spine. Not a good time, Andy.
"It's going to be difficult and it's going to be frustrating but in the end, it's going to be worth it. If you get upset or angry, that's fine. No matter how mean or 'bitchy' you become i won't hate you because i'll understand why. You can hit me all you want, what matters is that you're going to get better." I explained. Alex laughed slightly at the last sentence before groaning loudly.
"I still can't believe i slapped you." She said, leaning back so i could see her face. I nodded and chuckled softly. "But hey, now we're even right?" Alex grinned. My jaw dropped before i began laughing.
"That's an awful way to think of it." I shook my head, still laughing. Alex shrugged her shoulders and giggle slightly.
"Whatever." She said, sticking her tongue out at me playfully.

@Red Phoenix77 i wrote this back when i was about 13 (im 18 now) but i assume that my thought process was that vampires weren't undead, they were very much alive. also, i was very inexperienced when writing this story so i didn't put too much thought into things. maybe i'll re-write it one day! :)
