I Sit Here and Smile Dear
ANDY'S POV
"Why did you order me the most girliest drink ever?" I asked Alex, laughing slightly.
"Cause it's delicious." She said while shrugging cutely.
Our waiter John returned with our drinks before placing them in first of us.
"Are we all set to order?" He asked. I looked at Alex to see if she was ready, getting a nod in return.
"Yes. I'll have the top sirloin with fries." I said. John nodded and wrote down my order.
"How would you like that cooked?"
"Medium well." I said. John wrote on his pad again before turning to Alex.
"And i'll have a chicken ceasar salad with ranch dressing." Alex said, smiling sweetly. John wrote down her order before walking off. I was a little disappointed that Alex only ordered a salad, but new she was just getting over her eating disorder. At least she was eating, right?
We finished dinner and everything was amazing! I was decided not to show Alex the bill, knowing she would freak on how much everything came out to. I don't think she realized she got an almost $30 salad. The price was no concern to me, though. Alex is worth it. We were now driving to my second location, and i couldn't be more excited. This was the part of the date i was looking forward to the most. I pulled into the parking lot and killed the engine before getting out. I walked over to Alex's side and opened her door.
We were at the beach. Yeah, i know it's cliche but i came here once when i was feeling lonely and depressed. I like coming to this beach to think. And it's pretty secluded, no one really comes here. The sun was just setting, creating a glistening glow off the ocean. Alex looked amazed as i walked her over to the beach, her small hand in mine.
"This is beautiful." She beamed, her eyes sparkling. I smiled at how content and free she looked, knowing i feel the that way when i'm around her.
After walking a little longer, we arrived to a blanket placed neatly on the grass (thank you Jinxx) and a basket. I motioned for Alex to seat down, mimicking her actions once they were done.
"What is all of this?" She asked.
"Part two." I smirked before winking. I leaned over and grabbed the basket, careful not to damage the contents inside. I opened it to reveal two wine glasses, a bottle of wine, and one more secret thing.
"Wine? We're not legal to drink yet, Andy." She stated as i pulled out the wine glasses followed by the bottle before quickly closing the basket and shoving it behind me.
"So? No one's here." I shrugged. She nodded hesitantly and took a glass. I filled it up with red wine before doing the same to mine. I brought the glass to my lips, taking a moment to enjoy what the wine did to my taste buds. Alex looked at me, blushing.
"What?" I asked.
"I've never drank before... Y'know, alcohol." She said, embarrassed.
"Just drink it, it's fine. Nothing bad is gonna happen, i promise. You trust me right?" I asked. She nodded before sighing dramatically and bringing the glass to her lips. Alex took a sip and her eyes lit up.
"That's really good!" She exclaimed before downing the rest of it.
"Brace yourself there, Lex. Don't want you get drunk just yet." I said, winking. She laughed and stuck her tongue out at me.
"I wanna tell you why i brought you here." I started, taking mine and Alex's glass and moving them out of the way. She nodded, grabbing my hand. "Well, about a week before i met you, i came down here. I was feeling really depressed and lonely. The guys and i all went out to eat and everyone had a girl with them except me. I mean, even Ashley had someone! The guys were picking on me for not having a girlfriend and i got pissed and left. I drove and drove and somehow stumbled upon this place. No one was here so i just sat down in the sand and watched the waves crash onto the shore. I wished and i prayed that i would find someone that made me feel as happy as Sammi made Jinxx and Ella made Jake and Lauren made CC. Then that upcoming week, i met you. Something inside me sparked and i knew i'd be spending the rest of my life with you. You are my dream come true, Alex. And i never want you to forget it." I confessed. Alex had tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to spill at any moment.
"Andy, you show me ever day." She said as i turned around and reached into the basket, moving my hand around until i felt a velvet box. I pulled it out of the basket.
"Now you'll have a constant reminder." I opened the box to reveal a necklace with a heart on it. The heart had red diamonds on it and the words "i'll love you forever" engraved on the back in small letters. Alex's mouth was opened slightly in awe, tears falling down her face. I moved closer before putting the necklace around her neck.
"A-andy.. It's beautiful. I-i love it." She smiled at me, moving to sit on my lap. Alex kissed me deeply, her arms wrapped around my neck. She straddled my lap, and as much as i didn't want to, i pushed her off me. She looked confused.
"Your dress rode up, i could see your underwear." I said, laughing. A look of embarrassment washed over her features.
"It's okay babe. I just didn't want anyone else to see what's rightfully mine." I whispered seductively, moving so i'm now on top of her. She gasped slightly. I kissed her once more before getting up.
"Alright, lets go. I'm sure your tired." I said, extending my arm out and helping Alex up.
We walked to the car hand in hand, and i couldn't help but smile at how much shorter Alex was now that she took her shoes off. She insisted i didn't need to open the car door for her anymore, so i allowed her to get in on her own. I turned the car on before started our drive back home.
What a perfect end to a perfect night...

@Red Phoenix77 i wrote this back when i was about 13 (im 18 now) but i assume that my thought process was that vampires weren't undead, they were very much alive. also, i was very inexperienced when writing this story so i didn't put too much thought into things. maybe i'll re-write it one day! :)
