I think about when I was upstairs.
Before I was thrown out.
Until I had nothing left anymore.
whenever I look in the mirror, all I see is what's behind me.
what's behind me?

Nothing.

Two long marks where my wings used to be.
I only miss them because they were my purpose.
they're where every angel's purpose lies.
Now I'm just like all the humans.
except,
I'm trapped here until the Earth falls into the sun.
I can't escape it.

fuck.

holy shit. I am NOT looking forward to being stuck around such selfish,
jealous, weak-minded things as breathers.
I hate them.

In a way, it's a good thing.
I'd be punished if I didn't hate them.
It's not only your wings that you lose when you fall.

It's every shred of meaning that you have.

there's so many rules.

I lost the right to the gift of love when I fell too.

Ashley POV

I walk through the park, in the dark,
after a usual person's rough day.
for me, a rough day like that is an improvement.
I'm not crying.
all my body parts are still working.
I'm not in hospital.
yes. Today was better than usual.

I walk along, watching my feet,
bag on my shoulder.
I can feel something.... or someone watching me.
I don't know.
I can just sort of feel it.

I see something from the corner of my eye,
my head turns, as a natural reaction

"Hello?"

nothing.

"Hello?!"

he's stood with a clenched fist,
feet apart from each other,
back to me,

"Hello? are you alr-"

he interrupts me mid-sentence,

"shhhh"

I take a step closer,
he turns around,
his eyes are so blue they almost glow in the dark.

"STOP. Don't get any closer."

I freeze.
refuse to move after he told me not to.
I'm scared half to death.
he stares at me with a frown for a second,

"GO! AND DON'T COME BACK!"

I don't hesitate to run for my fucking life.
