Picking up the broken pieces

Fate is a bitch

I had graduated college two days ago, and after months of saving up, it was finally time to go to my first concert. Hi, I'm Alexander Bierwenski, call me Alex...I had finished packing all of my essentials. I was finally free. I could take my little sister out of this sad excuse of a family. I stored all of my bags (which consisted of a backpack and a suitcase filled with my clothes) in my closet, then got dressed for the BVB concert tonight. It was to be my first concert! I put a black long sleeved Black Veil Brides shirt on covering up the bruises and scrapes and cuts...which weren't all self inflicted, black leggings to cover the cuts and bruises and scratches, my ripped black skinny jeans, and my favorite combat boots.

I walked to my little sisters room and knocked three times, then added a soft knock at the end. "Coming!" I heard a small voice call out from the other side of the door. In seconds, the door was opened, revealing a small child with blue eyes and blonde hair. My little sister Allison smiled and pulled me into her room. "Sissy, I got all ready, I packed all my buddies!" She said, referring to her three stuffed animals. I smiled as she gestured to a pink elephant, a blue raccoon, and her favorite one eyed teddy bear, Spooky, who happened to be my favorite out of her small collection. The dark brown bear had one button eye missing, and decorative stitches. My mother had made it for me when I was very little, and when Allison showed up on our doorstep as a little two year old as the result of a one night stand with some whore and my dad, the poor child had nothing to comfort her! I'd given her Spooky. She'd immediately wrapped the bear into a tight hug.

I smiled at the memory and then looked back at my seven year old sister. "Okay, you know what to do, right?" I asked. "If dad tries to come in, keep my door locked and escape out the window. I keep my window unlocked for a quick escape, and once I'm safely away, I call you." Allison pulled her Hello Kitty phone out of her pocket and recited in a monotone voice for what seemed like the billionth time. I nodded, and kissed her cheek. "And where do you meet me?" I asked. Her blue eyes pierced me with a serious look...a look that no seven year old should ever have to wear. "At the haunted mansion five blocks away." She said. "It's not haunted, silly!" I said, and tickled her a bit. "Okay, I'm gonna go now, if you need me, call me, okay?" I asked, kissing her forehead and standing up. She nodded. "Be safe." She said, and hugged me.

(Time Skip!)

After a wonderful concert, I was going to the meet and greet. I almost to the front of the line, one person away, to be exact, when I got a text. I pulled out my phone and opened a text message. Get home now, bitch! My heart stopped, and my stomach flipped. "Hey, what's up? You're next, girly!" I heard CC call. I looked up to find CC and the others staring at me happily....until they saw my face, which I was guessing was panicked, cause it wiped the smiles off of their faces. "Hey," Andy said, standing up. "You okay?" He asked. I shook my head. "I'm sorry." I mumbled before taking off. I ran and ran for what seemed like hours, and it probably was. I had walked here, having no car. It had started to rain heavily, and by the time I got home, I was drenched. I kicked open the door. "ALLISON?" I called out, running up the stairs. I ran to her room to find the door had been busted, the wood frame splintered. "Ally?" I called softly. "Sissy...." I heard a small weak voice respond. I looked around the room. It was a mess. The window partly opened, the sheets strewn about, everything seemed to be on the floor....and that's when I noticed the blood. It trailed to her closet. I cautiously walked over to her closet, and opened the door. I had to choke back a scream at the sight before me.
(Warning, it gets gory here!)
Allison lay on the ground in her closet, bleeding from between her legs and from cuts, scratches, and scrapes all over her frail little body. Her once blonde hair had been ripped out in chunks, revealing skull cap in some places. Her clothes hung off of her in shreds. She looked up at me, crying silently. I ran over to her and gently picked up her beaten body, feeling broken bones.
(End of gore)
"Sissy.....it hurts...." Allison choked out. "I know, baby, I know...." I forced back tears. I'd never let her see me cry, and I wouldn't make an exception now. "I.....don't wanna die yet...." She softly sobbed. "You won't baby, you won't." I said, knowing it was a lie the moment it escaped my lips. "Yes I will.....I'm dying right now....can...you hear them singing?" She asked. "Who, Ally?" I asked. "The angels." she weakly responded. I could feel her letting go. "I love you, sissy." She slurred. "Close your eyes, sweetie. It's okay to let go...just like falling asleep." I choked back a sob. "Yeah....it doesn't hurt anymore. The angels want me to come with them....can I?" She coughed blood. I nodded. "Uh-huh. Go ahead. I love you, baby. I love you so so much." I couldn't hold back the tears, and they began to slip down my face. One landed on her cheek, mingling with the blood and sweat and tears of her own. "Okay....bye bye, sissy....take care of Spooky for me." She gave one last pathetic cough, then exhaled her last breath, growing limp in my arms. "Ally?" I sobbed. No response. I closed her eyes and began to cry when I felt a hand grab hold of my hair and tug me to my feet.

That's my hope. I want people to know that they aren't alone and that I'm there. I figured what better way to get my message across than via writing? Oh, and thank you. I'm glad you like it. :)
