Spin the Bottle

Chapter 6

-Andy's POV-

"Andy, Ashley, time to get up! You forgot to set your alarm!" My mother called from outside the door. I opened my eyes slowly and sleepily.
"Morning my Ashy baby," I mumbled, running a hand through his dark hair. "How'd you sleep?"
"Cuddling with you made it the best night ever." He kissed me, a short, soft, peck on the lips. Then my mother opened the door.
"Sorry guys, but it's-what exactly are you two doing?" She asked in shock, standing by the doorway. Shit.
"Uhh," was all I managed to say while Ashley and I sat up, hands still locked together. She frowned.
"Is there something going on here that I should know about?" Early in the morning and being forced to answer important questions. I could feel a headache coming on. What to say, how to respond...fuzzy ducklings. God, I was tired.
"I-um-we," I tried again. She closed the door and crossed her arms.
"Andy or Ashley, spit it out. I want the truth." Not good, not good, I thought to myself. There was a long moment of silence.
"We're together," Ashley blurted out all of a sudden. Really not good, really not good, I replaced my previous thinking with.
"And how long has this been going on for?"
"Since the dance," he answered nervously.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"We were afraid of what you would say or think. Personally, I don't-I don't even have a real home right now because when I came out to my parents, they kicked me out." He continued to tell the story of what happened to him. I was still waking up, honestly. I took a long time to fully realize that it was morning on the average day.
"I'm sorry we didn't tell you earlier, I should have," I apologized afterward. Mom pursed her lips.
"I can understand why you were uneasy about it, but you should have told us, Andy. You know that we'll accept you no matter what, it just would have been nice to know," she told us. "Thank you, by the way, Ashley, for coming out. Why don't you guys get dressed and come down for breakfast?" I nodded.
"Thank you, mom." She turned to leave, but there was one thing nagging at me. "You're not mad, are you?" I couldn't help but ask. She faced us again.
"Oh, Andy, I'm not upset at all, I just wish you told me earlier. Come on, get out of bed and give me a hug." I grinned and did as I was told. After a few seconds, she added "You, too, Ashley. I have a feeling you're not going anywhere." He grinned and hugged her as well.

-Time skip-A couple months-

Ashley had been living with me at my house ever since then. He slept in the attic, we had converted it into his room. For now, he had an accepting home, a real place for him to stay. Christmas was just a week away and I still needed to plan out a special date for us. I was up late searching for things online when I thought I heard crying from the attic. I immediately shut down my laptop and went to go check on Ashley. The sobs grew louder as I climbed the stairs.
"Ashley?" I asked gently. His face was red, his eyes were puffy, his pillowcase soaked with tears. The mere sight of him in this state broke my heart. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. "Baby, what happened?" He moved so that he was on my lap and crying into my shoulder.
"I-I g-got an email from my p-parents. They want to s-see me again, but I d-don't want to s-see them."
"Sh, don't worry, darling. Did they want you to come back to them or did they want to find you?"
"They want to find me. They said they were sorry. I told them I had a boyfriend who I loved with all my heart, and they said they wanted to meet you. I'm really worried, Andy." I pulled him away for a moment, holding his face just inches from mine, looking deep into those gorgeous eyes of his.
"Ashley, I love you. I will love you for all of forever and more. If you want to see your parents again, by all means, they are welcome here. If you want me to meet them, I would be happy to. If you don't want to see them, that's fine, too. I support any decision you make, but I can't help you choose something as personal as this," I told him.
"Ok," he said with a nod. I kissed him softly, but there was passion in his response. Before I knew it, we were having a full make out session, more intense than any of our others. Things were getting heated before he pulled away.
"Andy, we can't." I nodded in agreement, realizing where we had been going.
"Yeah, sorry. Want me to stay with you tonight or should I leave?"
"Please stay," he begged.
"Of course." I layed down next to him and cuddled him, playing with his hair while my other hand was in his. "I love you, Ashes," I sighed, falling asleep.
"I love you too, Andy. I wish I had a cute boyfriend nickname to call you, but I don't."
"It's fine, dear. Let's get some rest. You can decide what you want to in the morning." He was so adorable as he nodded off, nestled into my arms and chest.
