Spin the Bottle

-Andy's POV-

In a couple of days, winter break had ended. We would be continuing the second half of the semester at Ashley’s school, and he was terrified.
“Babe,” I told him, taking his hands in mine and looking him in the eye. “It’s going to be ok, I swear.” Ashley shook his head, letting a tear drip down.
“Andy this area is really homophobic, you saw my extended family. My own family treated us like dirt! This school is even worse. I’m sorry, we just can’t be together.” My heart shattered, and I gasped.
“Wh-what?” I stuttered with a dry throat. “You-you’re breaking up with me?”
“No! Of course not!” Ashley reassured me. “I mean that while we’re at school, we can’t be together, we have to be best friends. You can’t hold my hand, I can’t give you loving gazes; we have to play the role of the average straight guy. I’m sorry,” he apologized. I breathed a deep sigh of relief, pulling him into a hug.
“God, Ashes, you scared me. I thought you were breaking up.”
“Never,” he whispered. “But do you promise?” I pulled away a bit, lifting up his chin with my thumb.
“Anything for you, even if it’ll be the hardest thing I’ll ever do.” I kissed him.
“Thank you, Andy. I love you.”
“Aw shmoopsie-poo, I love you too.” He smacked my arm playfully, and I laughed.
