Spin the Bottle

Chapter 1

-Andy's POV-

I still didn't know why I was here. I suppose it was because CC loves parties and wanted to come, but I don't know why I agreed to accompany the gang. My group of friends consisted of me, CC, Jake, and Jinxx. Right now, the four of us were sitting in a circle, joined by five more random people and the new kid at school, Ashley. I guess he was only here at this stupid party to meet people. We all got bored of the crowded spaces and god awful music, so we came down here for some peace, quiet, and drama. Don't ask why, we're all about 16, we do dumb stuff. Currently, a girl named Scout with short, black hair was leading the activity.
"Ok, so when it's your turn to spin the bottle, whoever it points to, you have to make out with for a solid 15 seconds, regardless of orientation or whether you're even single or not," she proposed to the group.
"Ugh, really?" Jinxx groaned, obiviously not wanting to cheat on his girlfriend, Sammi.
"It's either this or go back upstairs. Pick your poison," Scout told him. Jinxx grumbled, but remained seated. "Andy, you first?" Of course, I thought sarcastically.
"Fine, gimme the stupid thing." She did, and I placed it in the center and spun it, hoping for not one of my friends. I was the leader of the "bad boys" group at school, hopefully this wouldn't be too embarressing. Finally, it stopped. Pointing to Ashley. For a second, I thought I saw his lips twitch into a smile, but I blinked, and he was stony-faced. A couple people giggled.
"This is going to be good," Jake whispered to CC, who nodded.
"Let's get this over with," I groaned to myself as I got up and approached Ashley. Everyone watched Ashley and I close our eyes and lean in, but only I felt the electricity when our lips connected. I had kissed girls before, but it was nothing like this. This was new, different, unexpected, and I liked the chills that raced up my spine as I deepened it. I could feel Ashley's hands on my shoulder and arm; this was how it was supposed to be.
"Time's up," Scout announced, and I pulled away reluctentely. My nerves still tingled from the feeling and memory of kissing the boy, but I sat back down with a glare.
"There. Done. Everyone happy?" I snapped back into my usual self with this comment, I couldn't be gay. There was no way in hell that I enjoyed that kiss-shit, I was only denying myself, the guy was a good kisser.

-Time skip-After the party-

I approached Ashley after the party to apologize for landing on him in spin the bottle.
"Hey, uh, you're Ashley, right?"
"I go by Ash."
"Oh, yeah, ok. Um, sorry about the uh..."
"Kiss?"
"Yeah, that."
"It's nothing, just part of the game. Right?"
"Yeah. Hey, uh, wanna hang out sometime?" I asked, suddenly wanting to know more about the new boy.
"Sure! I'll see you at school."
"Bye." The conversation was more like a phone call than actual socialization. But whatever, least I was getting a chance to know him.

-Time skip-At school-

I told Ashley to meet me and the group by the edge of the woods near the school. When he didn't show up, I found that I wasn't angry, just worried.
"I'm gonna go check on him," I told the guys before heading off. Low and behold, front of the school, was Ashley. Being bullied for his Hello Kitty lunch box.
"I didn't know emos liked Hello Kitty," one of the football idiots remarked stupidly, trying to appear smart.
"I didn't know idiots like you were able to stay in school as long as you have," I told them, entering the scene with confidence.
"Watch it, Biersack," one threatened.
"Or what?" I teased, knowing they were more afraid of me than I was of them.
"Or... we'll beat you up." Absolutely pathetic.
"Sure you will. Come on, Ashley," I told him, gathering his things that they had thrown on the sidewalk and grabbing his wrist to lead him away.
"Thanks."
"No problem."

-Ashley's POV-

I couldn't believe my luck when the bottle landed on me. Since moving here and seeing Andy, I thought he was the hottest person I had ever seen. For 15 blissful seconds, I got to kiss him, and I swear, he deepened it at one point. Not only that, but he asked me to hang out. To top it off, he saved me from school bullies. There was something about him that was like a magnet, pulling me closer to him, writing his name on my heart even though I didn't even know his favorite color. I liked him a lot, but there was no point. He was the school bad boy. I was the weird kid who never fit in. It would never work out in a relationship. Besides, I was almost positive that he was straight. Before I knew it, time flew by and I was accepted into the group, though I'm not sure I would have been if it weren't for Andy. Now, it was almost Halloween.
"Hey, Andy!" I whispered to him in math class, tossing him a note. He sat across from the seat in front of me. Unfortunately, this was when the teacher decided to turn around. Her eyes narrowed when she saw Andy unfolding the note.
"Passing notes in class, Mr. Purdy and Mr. Biersack?" Shit.
"Uhhhh...." was all I managed to say. Andy just kind of froze, like he'd never been caught for anything before.
"Detention. My room. After school. Today. No exceptions." I sighed, mouthing an apology to Andy, who shrugged and turned back to the front of the room. Shame bubbled up inside me, worries that he would never like me back. By now, I had a major, undeniable crush that only grew with the passing days. I wanted nothing more than to hold his hand in mine, to call him my boyfriend. But all I wanted was all I could never have.

-Andy's POV-

To be honest, I don't really care that Ashley got me detention, I'm fine with it as long as he's there. I never considered the thought that I could be gay until I met him. Or kissed him, because in our case, that actually came first, due to the game. He was the cutest person I had ever met, but I hid all evidence of my feelings beneath my reputation. He couldn't know. No one could. It was a secret only ghosts of the voice in my mind could whisper.

-Time skip-After detention-

Detention was boring, as usual. Especially because I was so close to Ashley and was unable to even talk to him. Now, we were standing in the freezing fall air outside the school and waiting for Jake to pick us up. All of a sudden, Ashley broke the silence.
"Hey, Andy, I'm sorry if this is an awkward question, but I just have to know. What do you think about the way we met?" I was surprised.
"You mean the kiss?"
"Yeah, what did you think about it?"
"I liked it-I mean uh, I didn't mind it." I could feel my cheeks burning in the cold, god, how could I let myself slip up like that?! Take control of the situation, Andy, I reminded myself. "What did you think about it?"
"I, uh-" the screeching of tires on pavement inturrupted his sentence, and not another word of this topic was discussed as Jake drove us each home. Well, in Ashley's case, he was dropped off near his house, not the exact location, and told us he would walk there. He insisted on it in such a way that I began to wonder if my crush was hiding something.
