Too Much
Chapter Sixteen
Alex POV
Dinner was well akward. Mom kept giving Andy and I knowing looks as my dad,clueless to what was going on, filled the silence with mindless chatter about what was going on at his job. I was so glad for dinner to end even if it meant having a conversation about something that I've talked about enough for one day. Andy and I get into my car so I could drive him home. The first few minutes was spent in silence as Andy figured out what he wanted to say. "Alex we have to talk about this,"he finally said when we were close to his house. "Not now Andy. I'm sorry but I just can't talk about it anymore today,"I said, pain and sorrow evident in my voice. "Alright Alex. You win for now, but you can't keep avoiding it." We pull up at his house then and he turns and looks at me and says,"Alex look I know we haven't known each other that long but I care about you a lot. Hell I think I'm falling in love with you, so please try to stop hurting yourself." He leans in, kisses me, and then leaves me speechless. He's falling in love with me of all people?! Wow I just can't believe that he would fall in love with someone as ugly and scarred as me. I contumplate this on the drive back home. When I walk in the door my mom calls me to the living room where she's watching T.V. with my dad. "So how did dropping Andy off go,"she asks. "Good,"I mumble. "You two have become such good friends since starting that project,"my dad said. My mom giggles at that. Suddenly I get filled with courage. "No Andy and I aren't friends,"I say boldly,"He's my boyfriend."
