Love The Way You Lie

Emerson took a large bite of her ice cream as she watched Andy speak to a few of his fans. They asked him for a picture and he quickly obliged.

It had been a month and a half since they had gotten home from Warped and they only had a week until the Monster Energy Tour and then the European tour. Emerson was pretty bummed to leave so soon but at least she had a little while.

Andy and her were on an ice cream date but of course, it had been interrupted by fans. God- Emerson was beginning to hate having no privacy.

"Bye guys, thanks for listening." Andy smiled, waving at them all. He made his way back to Emerson, sitting next to her and kissing the side of her head. She gave him a pointed look and he sighed.

"You promised."

"I'm sorry, Em." He said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "But I can't just say no to my fans.."

"We haven't had one day together where someone hasn't interrupted us since we got home." She frowned, crossing her arms.

"I love you?" He quirked his eyebrow. She sighed an looked away from him.

"I love you too." She whispered, taking another bite of her ice cream. He giggled, pulling her into a warm kiss.

"I really am sorry." He mumbled, only centimeters away from her face. "It must suck to have to deal with being stopped all the time.."

"You know." She laughed. They finished their ice cream quickly and then left the shop, hand in hand, out to the mall around them.

"Promise me that if someone else recognizes you, you won't go up to them." She said, holding out her pinky.

"I promise." He said, locking their fingers.

"You swear?" She smirked up at him. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder as they walked.

"I swear." He giggled. "We should get to rehearsal in an hour or so."

"Okay." She smiled up at him, pecking his soft lips. They went in and out of stores for a little while, passing the time.

Soon enough, they were walking into the guys rehearsal space. Andy's hand was locked in hers as he flashed his pass to the security guard at the door.

"Hey lovebirds!" CC teased from his spot on Emerson's chair. It was plush and one they had taken from an office around the building for her to sit in during rehearsals. She had it positioned in the corner of the room so she could see them all without getting in the way.

"Get out of my chair, Coma!" She exclaimed, laughing as he held his hands up in surrender. He stood up and pulled her into a hug.

"I'm glad you're coming with us." He smiled.

"Me too." She giggled, pulling back and plopping down in her seat. Andy leaned over and quickly kissed her lips before they went into rehearsal.

Emerson loved watching them even in a small space like the one they were in. Andy still sang incredibly and the guys were no exception. She noticed that they were all tighter now- closer friends. She hoped she'd had something to do with that.

Her phone began to vibrate as they finished up their first song and she looked down to see that it was Juli. Emerson walked out quietly to take the call, waving at Andy.

"Hello?" She smiled.

"Hey Trouble, how soon can you get down here?" Juli exclaimed.

"Uh, I would say not very. I'm at Andy's rehearsal.." Emerson said.

Juli was quiet for a moment. "I need you down here." She said.

Emerson sighed, "I don't have my car."

"Emerson, seriously."

Juli never used her full name.

"I'll try." She swallowed. Juli hung up then and Emerson couldn't figure out what was going on.
She walked back into the studio and smiled at Andy as he took a sip of water. "Hey baby."

"Hi.." She walked over to him, kissing his cheek. "Uhm, Juli needs me down at the studio for something. Apparently it's really important."

"We're not done here yet, love. Can it wait?" He asked, holding her hips. She sighed and nodded.

"I'm worried about her." She said, rolling her eyes as he leaned into kiss behind her ear a few times. She pushed him back a bit. "Can't you get a ride home from one of the guys?"

"I don't know.." He groaned. "Why can't you just wait? We'll go together when I'm done."

"Because she's like my mom, Andy!" She exclaimed. "And she needs me! God, sometimes you can't see straight!"

"Em, what the hell!?" He said, his voice raising.

The entire room was silent.

"Your fans already interrupt everything we do and now you're not going to let me see my only family?" She shook her head, exasperated.

"Babe, that's not what I'm saying.." He tried to console.

"No, that's what you're saying! Your music always comes first! Whatever Andy, I'll fucking walk!"

With that, she stormed out of the studio, leaving Andy and the guys stunned.
