The Wretched And The Divine
In The End
Ashley’s POV
I straightened my jacket and looked in the mirror, everything about today was wrong, it was too sunny for a day like today. We were all dressed up, in black suits, the white of the shirts contrasting heavily. Gemma gave me a small smile before she left the room, but even that didn't reach her eyes. The most important person in my life wasn't by my side, where she was supposed to be. I felt numb. The guys left one by one, leaving just me and Andy in the room.
"She should be here." I said.
"I know," he replied, "she should be giving her evidence to make that bastard rot in hell, but nothing we do will change that right now, take it a day at a time."
"Easier said than done." I glared at him. I know he was trying to make the situation seem better than it actually was.
"Look we all miss her," he said, "but being angry isn't helping, today is only a bail hearing. If the judge has any sense he won't grant it. We don't even need to be there today.”
"I know but we need to show that bastard that he can't win." I said through gritted teeth.
"And he won't" he replied.
"He needs to rot for what he's done," I said, "shes rotting where she is, and now he needs to do the same, the death penalty would be too kind for him. Just let me get a hold of him, then he'll be wishing for death."
"I know an eye for an eye sounds good right about now,” he said, trying to be the voice of reason, “but think of Isis, what would she think of you for that?"
"She'd want me to do something!" I shouted.
"Shouting at me wont help," he said' "We need to stick together on this. now lets get out there and to the courthouse and watch this bastard rot in jail for what he done to his little sister." I nodded and we headed out. He will rue the day he came back into her life to ruin everything.
