Baby, be the class clown.

I felt Andy take my hands in his, and lay his head on my back, still sitting behind me. My small, delicate hands wrapped inside of his large, callused hands. Our hands intertwined seemed so sweet together. Young love. But they had so much more story to them. These hands have killed people. These hands have done their parts in violence, all to accomplish a mission - no, an order that Cathedral told us to do without thinking. I took a heavy breath.

I'll be the beauty queen in tears.

Finally, I spoke. "Let's go back to my house. We need to get our orders." Andy and I walked, hand in hand, back to his car, and stayed that way on the silent, stressful drive back to my house.

It's a new art form, showing people how little we care.

We walked into my house, the smell of home hitting us. All three of the kids immediately ran to us, engulfing us in hugs. Karolina made a bee line for Andy, and lifted her arms up to him begging for him to pick her up. She adores Andy.
"Jayelle I need you," Maryanna said with watery eyes. I wasn't quite sure what she meant but led her to my mother's bedroom, leaving Sara and Karolina with my mother and Andy.
"What's wrong, Darling?"

"Sara says you're going to leave us soon to go live somewhere else. I don't want you to go," She let go then, and started crying, and wrapped her arms around my neck tightly.
Why do they all think I'm leaving for good?

"I'll never leave you, my wild child. You guys are my everything, I love you too much to leave you, okay?"
She sniffled then buried her face in my neck. Then she calmed down a bit to speak. "Okay."

After a few more minutes of soothing speeches to her, I took Maryanna with me and went back to the rest of the family. Andy, who was across the room, mouthed to me 'she okay?', I nodded in response.
I walked to my mother, who wrapped her arms around me. After explaining the text message we had gotten, she looked worried. She knew nothing of our missions. But assumed everything concerning Cathedral was very very important, and she was right to assume.
"Okay everyone sit!" My mother yelled. She and the girls took their places on the couch, as Andy and I stood. We turned the TV on, and through video chat connected to Sophia.
The room stayed deathly silent, and Andy and I stayed close. Leaving no space between us.
Sophia's aging but stern face appeared on the screen as she spoke.
"Andy, Jayelle. I see you're doing well. As you by now know, the Birdcage operation has started again, and we have information they are in the process of making biochemical bombs again. You need to stop the operation, disband the group, take out the main leaders, and destroy all evidence of the Birdcage operation. Fully, this time. That's not all though, we have knowledge that high members of the Birdcage group have abducted a young girl, 10 years old. We don't know her name, or anything other than basic information as her gender, close age, and who she's with. Get her back, unharmed. The Birdcage group is watching for you. They're very aware of who stopped them last time, and will stop at nothing to end your lives. More information will be sent to you in your case files. That's all for now. I trust you'll end this once and for all."
The screen went black. No one spoke.

We're so happy, even when we're smiling out of fear.
