And as a result of that, I have to be away from home. Sara, I might not come home this time. So as a result of this fear, Andy and I have decided you're old enough to know.
I will tell you what I can. You know very briefly about my work for Cathedral. And I'm afraid I'll never be able to tell you the whole story. You heard on Sunday my contact talk very minimal about my next assignment, and among the information you heard that there was a child being held that we're in motion to rescue. This isn't my first child human trafficking rescue.

Years ago, Andy and I were on an assignment to find you. To retrieve you. You had been kidnapped, sold, and made a sex slave. You were only 12 years old. Andy and I found you, and you were near death. You were terrified of us. We took you back to our headquarters, where they kept you in intensive care in the hospital for weeks. During that time, we tried desperately to find your family. When we did, they said they didn't want you back. It broke my heart. I thought you were perfect. So when you were released, I took you home with me. Mom adopted you, and we all accepted you into our family with open arms. We loved you more than anything, you were a sweet child. You still are. When you were held in the slave ring, you had so much trauma to your head, and so many drugs, that you don't remember any of this. It's unlikely you ever will. It's been hard for you, I know. I've watched you struggle with yourself as you get older. You don't understand where your real parents are, who you really are, and it's no secret that you're adopted. I'm so sorry I never told you this. I only hope that one day you can forgive me.
