Who Ever Knew?

-Carly's POV-

Andy was joking. He had to be. There was no way he was gay, and absolutely no way WHATSOEVER that Ashley was his boyfriend. Not true, not true, not true, I told myself as I angrily pushed the number in on my phone. A smile crept across my face as it began to ring. If it really wasn't true, what was Ashley going to think about Andy creating a fake relationship with him? Finally, he picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Ashley, this is Carly, Andy told me something and I just wanted to ask you about it," I said, no trace of my earlier outburst.
"Ask away." Even his voice was attractive, if that was possible.
"Andy told me that you two are dating."
"What?"
"Ha!" I shouted. "I knew it wasn't true!"
"No, it is, I just thought that we would tell you together. It's fine if he preferred to do it by himself, of course." Hold up, WHAT NOW?
"Wait, it's true?" I asked, desperately hoping that I'd misheard him.
"Yes, Carly, Andy is my boyfriend," he told me with a sigh. I'll call you back later, was what I meant to say but didn't. Instead, my actions continued as if I had and I hung up. Andy and Ashley were dating. Of course they were, because it wasn't enough of a shock if my older brother got a boyfriend, no, I just had to have a crush on him for things to really heat up. Thanks a lot, life, hope you're having a fun time watching all of this with a bag of popcorn in your hand, I thought sarcastically. But ugh, now what was I going to say to Andy because he was right? Nothing, I decided. The silent treatment it is, then. It's not like he actually wanted to talk to me. When most people are angry, they yell and raise their voice. How you can tell when Andy's pissed is that he starts talking in this really calm, smooth voice, the tone he used with me when he told me to call Ashley. You know for sure you've done something wrong when that makes an appearance. And god, I had screwed up so badly.

-Andy's POV-

I knew everything had been confirmed when Ashley called.
"So you told her?" He asked, and I hoped he wasn't mad that I did without him.
"Yeah, I didn't mean to, I really wanted to wait until tomorrow, but you know what happened?"
"What?" And so I explained how the events that ocurred lead up to this. "Oh, yeah, guess you didn't really have a choice," he said in understanding afterwards. "Has she said anything to you since?"
"No, she's just moping in her room in silence. Really, I don't mind it, she has no right to yell at me like that, let alone for finding a wonderful boyfriend. She'll get over it, don't worry, babe. Have you told your mom?" I asked him.
"Yeah, she's happy for us. Hey, my friend CC is coming to visit in a couple days, we could try to set up him and Carly," Ashley suggested.
"Yeah, that could work! In the meantime, do you wanna go see a movie or something tomorrow?"
"Like a date?"
"If that's what you want it to be, honey," I replied.
"Andy, I don't care what we do, as long as I'm with you." I couldn't help but grin at his comment, the fact that such a perfect boy like Ashley loved me back was simply too amazing to ever grow used to.
"See you tomorrow, then, darling. I love you."
"Love you, too, baby." I fell back onto my bed with a smile stretched across my face, so widely that my cheeks began to hurt. Ashley was my boyfriend. Ashley said he loved me. Ashley. Purdy. Was MY boyfriend. Of course, I could see why Carly wanted him, but there was no way she felt for him the way I did. Besides, we can set her up with CC to make things right, I thought, falling asleep. That night, the only face I saw in my dreams was Ashley's.
