Who Ever Knew?

-Andy's POV-

Somehow, over the sound of about 15 giggling teenage girls, I managed to hear the doorbell ring.
"CARLY, I THINK THAT'S THE PIZZA!" I called to her, too lazy to get up off the couch.
"COULD YOU ANSWER, PLEASE?" She yelled back.
"UGH, FINE," I answered, standing up.
"TELL US IF HE'S CUTE!" Another random girl called.
"How would I know?" I mumbled to myself before opening the door, though I had been questioning my orientation recently. Who I saw in the doorway, however, was not cute. He was absolutely adorable. Yup, there goes my uncertainty on this topic, I thought as I spent a full second checking him out. He had black, longish hair that was sort of spiked up on one side, and beautiful brown eyes with just a touch of black eyeliner circling them. He was wearing all black.
"Umm, two extra large cheese pizzas," he said, dragging me back to reality with his sexy voice.
"Oh, yeah, uh, thanks," I replied, slightly dazed, pulling out my own money from my pocket to pay for it, even though that was Carly's responsibilty. I'll get the money back from her later, I told myself. At that moment, Carly and all of her friends stampeded down the stairs for at first the pizza, but then of course, he caught their eye.
"Can I have your phone number?" Carly blurted out all of sudden.
"Carly!" I snapped immediately. "Just because you are turning 16 today does not mean you can ask for random guy's phone numbers." I, however, am 18, and therefore allowed to, I almost added. The guy sighed.
"You take the pizza, I'll give my number to your brother and he can pass it on to you. But only because it's your birthday," he said. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Ok, cool, thank you Carly, because I am now recieving a way of contacting an attractive boy who looks around my age, I thought to myself in surprise. He wrote it down on the reciept while the girls took the pizza to the kitchen. "Here you go," he said when he finished.
"Thanks," I responded as I took it. "Your name is Ashley?"
"Yup, but you can call me Ash. You can also keep the number if you want, you don't have to pass it on to your sister." He turned around quickly and left, and I had the sudden urge to run after him and stop him, because it felt as though he was walking out of my life. For some reason, I really didn't want to happen. Instead of following my instincts, however, I stood there staring at him (hopefully not in a creepy way) as he drove away.

-Ashley's POV-

What was I thinking? My job was to deliver the stupid pizza, not flirt with the guy who picked it up! "You can call me Ash", when would he ever even see me again? I hoped it wasn't obvious that I was gay and I thought he was hot enough to give my phone number to. Unfortunately, now an entire slumber party's worth of 16 year old girls had it, as well. I bet that guy already had a girlfriend, anyway. Oh well, what's done is done, I groaned in defeat internally.

The next morning, the caller ID on my phone told me that it was from an unknown caller. My heart pounded as I picked it up. Could it really be him?
"Hello," I answered. High-pitched giggles were all that was on the other side of the line, and I sighed. His sister and her friends.
"Say something," one of them urged her.
"Uhh," Carly (I think that's what her name was) said through laughter. "I'm not sure if you remember me, but you were our delivery boy last night and you gave us your phone number. What's your name?" Huh, strange that the boy didn't tell her.
"I wrote it down on the reciept," I replied.
"No, you didn't. Andy told us that you just wrote your number on this sticky note that I'm holding right now."
"Umm, what?" I asked, confused.
"Will you girls get off the phone with that poor guy? He was just the delivery boy," I heard Andy (apparently that's his name) say in the background.
"Nevermind," Carly dismissed me before hanging up. Thank god for that. Two minutes later, my phone rang. Again, unknown caller.
"Got to be kidding me," I sighed as I took the bait, too hopeful to resist it, and answered.
"Hello?"
"Uh, hi, this is Andy, I'm Carly's brother," a deep voice responded. Oh god, it really was him! "I just wanted to call back and apologize for them doing that, I made them promise not to call again." THANK YOU! I screamed internally.
"Oh, thanks," was all I said out loud.
"Yeah, no problem, I'm sure you must get stuff like that a lot," he laughed.
"What?" His laughter cut short.
"Nothing. Umm, well, bye," he said.
"Wait!" I managed to say, stopping him just in time before he hung up.
"Yes?" Here goes, I thought. Telling him the truth. It can't hurt, the worst he can do is hang up in distaste and never call back, I comforted myself. But still, I chickened out.
"Wanna hang out sometime?" There, hanging out was a good start, considering I still didn't even know the mysterious boy.
"Sure, I'm free today. What do you want to do?"
"I don't know. I live around your neighborhood, though. I actually just moved in, so I also thought it would be good to get to know some people," I told him. Fortunately, it was the truth and I really did move in a couple weeks ago not too far from his house.
"Oh, ok, cool! If you come by my house, I can show you the town and stuff," he offered.
"Sounds great," I replied, and I couldn't wait.
