Perfection

-Ashley's POV-

*At the dance*

I still couldn't believe what CC told me on Monday. How could his parents kick him out because he had a boyfriend? I mean, my parents weren't exactly overjoyed when they found out and there was slight trouble accepting it, but they did, eventually. Of course, I felt terrible that CC was put in a direct decision between me and his family, forced to choose between the two. I now knew I must mean a lot to him. So here I was, waiting for him to arrive at the Halloween dance. I was dressed up as a cowboy, with long blue jeans, a plain blue shirt with a denim jacket, and my cowboy hat and boots. Hopefully, I could find the time to show CC my outlaw tattoo across my stomach. That would be a nice touch to the evening...Anyway, I was hanging out by the snack table when I saw him walk in with Jinxx and Sammi. God, he was so beautiful he took my breath away. He smiled, told Jinxx something, and began walking quickly in my direction. I couldn't believe that I had been blessed with such a wonderful boyfriend, not only whose actions and personality was attractive, but appearance, as well. He was wearing a simple black suit, no bandana, and his hair was pulled back and combed, for once. I began grinning like an idiot caught in an amazing hallucination of their dreams when he reached me.
"Hey, baby," he greeted me.
"Hello, darling. You look stunning," I told him. He laughed.
"I just borrowed Jinxx's suit real quick. You're the one who put actual thought into the costume," he noted. "Which you look absolutely adorable in, by the way," he added with a shy smile, therefore making him too irresitable to kiss. It was just a quick peck on the lips, but it was something. Enough to make a guy and his (slutty-ish) girlfriend in the corner laugh in a mocking tone, whispering something about being gay. I didn't care, but I saw concern flash in CC's gorgeous brown eyes for a moment.
"Hey, CC, don't worry, baby. Forget about them, they don't matter. And if it helps any, at least what we have is real," I reminded him. He nodded.
"You're right, thanks, Ashy. Shall we find Andy and Jake?"
"Sure." Hand in hand, we were proud of everything our relationship stood for.

-Andy's POV-

Personally, I thought it was the cutest thing ever that Jake had dressed up as Edward Cullen from Twilight, our own little inside joke. I was half wishing that I had come as Bella Swan, just to be funny, but let's face it, Batman is more awesome. A lot more awesome. Anyway, Jake and I were just hanging out and talking when CC and Ashley came over.
"Hey, guys. Wait, CC, who are you exactly?" Jake asked.
"Uhh..." CC stuttered. Clearly it was a thrown-together-at-the-last-moment-costume. Which I couldn't blame him for, of course, considering he was staying at Jinxx's house, but still. I spent at least an hour on my hair.
"Prince of death," Ashley finished for him at last. I spit out my punch in laughter.
"Ew, Andy, you sprayed it everywhere!" Jinxx complained in a valley girl accent when he and Sammi approached us.
"Sorry," I apologized, wiping the extra stuff off my face with a napkin that Sammi handed to me. "But CC is the prince of death?"
"Apparently tonight I am," he replied. "Speaking of costumes, what are you, Jake? It's clear that Ashley is a cowboy, Andy is Batman, Jinxx is Jack Skellington, Sammi is Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas, but who are you?" Jake blushed, as anyone would if they were dressed as Edward Cullen and was asked this question.
"Edward Cullen," he admitted.
"Ha! I knew it!" CC cried, jumping up in the air. Now it was Ashley's turn to spit out his punch.
"Wait, really, Jake? Edward Cullen from Twilight?"
"Yup. But if I were you, I'd be questioning how my boyfriend knew it already, as CC declared he did," Jake shot back with a grin. CC turned bright scarlet red, and Ashley shook his head with a sigh, pretending to be annoyed. He wasn't, of course.
"CC, CC, CC, what are we going to do with you?" He asked before kissing him to show he was kidding. I turned to Jake, my wonderful Jakey, and did the same.
"Come on, baby," I said to him. "I think it's time for a dance." He nodded.

-Jake's POV-

"Come on, baby," Andy said to me. "I think it's time for a dance." I only nodded, caught in his beautiful gaze. I felt so lucky to have his hand in mine, that I was even the target of his sight. There was a time, not that long ago, when I never could have imagined any of this happening. When instead of dancing with him (clumsily, because neither of us were great dancers), I would be at home, eating pizza and watching netflix. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, it's just that a night like this, with my best friend and the hottest boy in school as my date, only existed in wistful dreams. The song slowed, prompting a romantic feeling to spark in the entire room. It seemed that all at once, everyone kissed their significant other, but I wouldn't know. My eyes were closed, and I was too lost in my love for Andy to realize anything around me. Tonight was perfect. So, so perfect. It seemed that I thought that every night that I was with Andy, but it was true. He was practically the shining angel of my hopes and dreams. I loved him so much, and I let him know that partly through the deep kiss that lasted longer than any of our others. We were forced to pull apart when the song ended, though neither of us wanted to.

-CC's POV-

I laughed as I exited the auditorium, where the dance was held, with Ashley's hand in mine. I stopped walking for a moment just to appreciate the pure beauty of everything. I was here, standing in the garden outside the school. With my amazing boyfriend next to me. After experiencing a wonderful night with him. He noticed my sudden and unusual calmness and slowed as well.
"Something wrong, darling?" He asked, puzzled.
"No," I sighed in happiness. "Quite the opposite, in fact. Everything is-" I turned to face him, kissing him softly on the lips.
"Perfect," he finished for me. I opened my mouth to tell him I loved him, but I never got the chance to, because who did I see and hear crashing through the bushes behind him? My parents.

Notes

I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter! I tried to make it funny, but sorry if it was just dumb or cheesy or whatever. Anyway, next chapter coming soon! Might be the last, too.
