FOUR YEARS LATER

My alarm goes off in my small room. I cringe as the violent beeping threatens to destroy my hearing abilities. With great effort, I heave myself up and out of bed and slam my hand down on the alarm. As I properly get out of bed, I shiver stretch, yawn and pad over to my wardrobe.

My brother, now lead singer in an amazing band called ‘Black Veil Brides’ was over yesterday, along with the rest of the boys and girl in the band (Jake, Jinxx, Ashley and Sandra) and they gave me some never before seen band merch, so today, I decided to wear it.

I pull the shirt over my head and marvel at it. It was jet black, with ‘Black Veil Brides’ plastered over the front. Below that was the ‘BVB symbol’, a star with semi-circles around it, not unlike my necklace (I still wear it, I never take it off). On the back, it had tour dates and in a week and a bit, it is their last show.

I received backstage passes for me and a friend, I don’t really have any idea who to bring so I might just give it to a random at the show.

I dive into some skinny jeans and jam a beanie on over my head. I take a scarf and wrap it around my freezing neck - even inside a heated flat it's still like the arctic in here.

I walk into my kitchen and fuss around with cereal, making a complete mess of the kitchen floor. It doesn’t really matter, my dog will eat it. He comes scooting in now, a little French bulldog with a sweet disposition. I called him Sirius being the massive Harry Potter fanatic that I am. He flops down on my feet, sensing that I will be leaving him soon. I laugh and shake him off.

I finish my cereal and brush my teeth, then; I lock up and head out the door of my city flat. I walk off to college, dodging alleyways and angry cats.

Arriving at college I see students flocking in through the gates. Sighing, I follow them, preparing myself for a long day of learning.

********** (scene change)

I walk outside for my lunch, dawdling over to an empty bench. I eat what I want my sandwich and throw the remains into a nearby bin.

Sitting on my seat, I take in my surroundings: fighting girls, laughing boys, druggos hanging out in toilets, nothing but the usual. Except, as my wandering eyes travel further over the concreted area, I see a familiar boy sitting down, back against a wall, eyes closed, basking in the sunlight.

His eyes are rimmed with faint eyeliner, his mouth is slightly open and I can see his teeth; a little squared off but otherwise perfect, he also has the tiniest gap between his two front teeth.

He is completely decked out in black, from head to toe.

He has a plain black t-shirt poking out from under his hoodie; his pants are ripped at the knees and reveal a slither of ankle. And to complete the outfit, his black converse shoes are scuffed and battered and look like they have seen better days.

He opens his eyes, his beautiful brown eyes. He catches me looking at him and smiles, showing his little square teeth.

Then I realise who he is.

We never really talked, only briefly. All we ever said to each other was ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’ or ‘how are you?”

He gets up a little clumsily and starts to walk over to me. He sits down and pokes my cheek

"I saw you lookin' at me" he says cockily.

"You looked like a lizard on a rock sitting in the sun like that, dude" I tell him.

He laughs. He laughs funny, like he actually pronounced the 'ha-ha' where as other people just...laugh. And his voice is like ten times higher when he laughs as well.

Cute.

"You seem alright, I'm Christian Mora, or Christian Coma, as I like it. But CC sounds cooler, don't you think! Call me CC"
