Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover... **COMPLETED**

Chapter 20: From Shapeless To Breakable, Part I: When Hell Is Hidden Behind A Smiling Mask..

**WARNING: VIOLENCE, GORE**

"Five years earlier, (narrator's P.O.V)
Rebekah. 12. United States of America.

Rebekah was an happy child, in an happy family. During her whole childhood she has always been the 'hyper' type of little girl, always laughing, jumping and running. Her parents were so proud of her, their only child. Due to some health issues, they couldn't have another, but they were still happy. Rebie was a good source of happiness, plus she was so mature for her age! Everybody liked her, the neighbors, the rest of her family.. Everyone. She hated problems and arguing. So she always made it for everyone around to be happy!
Rebekah had two best friends, she had plenty of friends to be honest, but those two were her 'best best friends'. They were sharing secrets, inviting each other for the night.. So Rebie was happy with her life, she was twelve, she didn't care about boys at all and only cared about drawing, running, well, having fun like a twelve years old!

One day Rebekah was walking back home, after saying goodbye to her 'best best friends' she walked the way to her own house. She was already excited about the cookies her mother cooked almost everyday.. Rebie already knew her dad wouldn't be there as he worked a loooot, but she didn't mind, she would have her mother for her only *baby voice*. Yes, her daddy was a police officer, a good one, he was already detective or some grade and the child was really proud of him!
So, the little brunette walked to her house and recognized Jacob, a smile automatically spreading on her smile. Jacob was her dad's best friend, his 'parter in crime' and Rebie liked him particularly for the chocolates his wife Lucy and him always brought her for Christmas.. Yes, she was still a child.. Even if like 99% of them she wanted to be considered as an adult..

“Rebekah! How was you day little warrior? Your parents are waiting for you excitedly!” she quickly walked to him, happy to see him. Rebie knew he always had something for her, and when he didn't, he played with her and in any ways he was a 'nice dude' as her mother always said.. Arrived to him she hugged him and gave him two pecks on the cheeks as usual. After a day that good, Rebie was tired but happy so she looked for her parent. But once she put a foot inside she noticed it. Blood. There was blood on the floor.. But it wasn't from the kitchen, meaning it wasn't from a meat.. She looked up at Jacob, he had an evil smirk on his face. She instantly knew she had to run, but the man grabbed her arm forcing her to stay.
“Wh.. What's going on Jacky?” she asked, horrified of what her imagination built in her head.
“Come in little girl, your parents need you now..” she nodded and walked in.

But then she finally noticed her parents. They were both tied to chairs, covered in blood.. It must have been a nightmare.. Or some kind of really bad jokes.. But the smile on Lucy's face told her it wasn't.. Her mother mouthed her a 'shut up' and she instantly understood. Lucy walked to her and with a bloody hand caressed her cheek, making the poor child even more scared, then turning to her parents she smiled evilly:
“So you won't talk that's it? But what about you daughter?
-No..Please.. She doesn't know anything.. Don't hurt her” replied her dad, in a voice that weak she wondered what the fuck did happen there! Suddenly Jacob slapped her dad, she just looked at them, shocked. 'Jacky' used to be so nice and now he was hitting her father? 'This must be a nightmare' she told herself, trying to keep hope as he mother taught her..

“So.. Rebekah? If you tell me where the secret documents of your daddy are, you won't get hurt and your parents will be released.. Everything will be okay.”
The secret documents? Hell yes, she knew where they were! But even if she was 'just' twelve years old, she knew Jacky wasn't the good man she always knew. If he was able to hurt his 'best friend' that bad.. She knew he would kill them all when he would know and have the precious documents he wanted..
“What?.. What secret documents are you talking about? Daddy never bring work at home!” she saw her dad smiling weakly and understood she made the right choice..
“Don't play fool Rebie, I know you're a very intelligent girl, and you know what's better for you.. Tell me where are the documents. I swear I won't hurt you if you do.” his evilly calm voice sent shiver through her little body.

“I'm sorry Jacky.. I really don't know where it is.” she felt proud of herself for standing with her parents.. But Jacob didn't take it like that..
“Bitch! You're just like your fucking dad!” he yelled. Then she felt it. The first slap. Her first slap ever. She had always been a nice girl, and her parents never -ever- hit her.. Lucy quickly tied her on a chair as well. The bond hurt her soft and fresh skin, making some marks on her arms that would probably never go away..
“I know exactly how to make you talk little slut!” he said with the most evil smirk Rebie had ever seen. Jacob took a gun that Rebie hasn't noticed yet and applied it to her father's head.
“Rebekah! Tell me where's the damn paper!!” but her father slightly shook his head, silently telling her to shut up..
“I.. I don't know.” she sobbed, feeling tears burning her eyes. Why would he kill her dad? He couldn't do that! It must be a nightmare! Jacky was too nice to kill her dad.. He couldn't..

BLAM!

'Actually yes, he could.. He just did.' Rebie told herself looking at her now dead father. It was impossible.. I couldn't be.
'But it is baby.. You have to accept it..' She looked at her dad, his head was now just a jaw. The rest was laying on the floor, in a pool of blood. In a matter of seconds, there were no more BBQ on Sundays, no more piggy rides.. Rebie felt tears running down her cheek, it was unfair! Jacob played with his weapon but then applied it to her mother. It wasn't enough to kill her father?
“Rebie.. Baby, tell me where it is, and everything would be over.” he said in a nice voice, but after what he just did how could Rebie believe it?!
He smiled evilly but she was strong enough and shook her head even though the child already knew what would happen next..

Rebekah saw her mother smiling one last time.. Before her brain flood on the floor, mixing with the blood. The smell, the sight and the sound of all this make her sick she looked up at the horrible human being in front of her, would he kill her too? After all, it would be better than living with those horrendous images in her brain forever!
Suddenly Jacob took her chair and pulled it just in front of the two dead bodies.
“You see that Rebie? They are dead. And it's all your fault.. If only.. If only you had told me where the documents were.. I wouldn't have been forced to kill them.. None of these would have happened. But you wanted it.. You wanted them to die don't you? You know why? Because you're a monster Rebie.. A monster.” she listened to him, unable to close her eyes or look away, those horrible images printing in her mind..

Was it true? Was she a monster? Was it her fault if they were dead? There was blood everywhere, on the floor, on herself, on the walls.. Her father's face wasn't even recognizable anymore. The bullet as destroyed his skull and head. Same for her mother. Why?
What was in these documents? Why did Jacky want them so fucking badly?! Why did her parents refused to talk about it? Even if she didn't have any answers for all these questions, she knew that if her both parents accepted to die to protect it, she wouldn't talk about it. NEVER. If it could bring death, these doc were too dangerous to talk about them. She knew exactly where they were hidden. Somewhere Jacob and Lucy wouldn't find. Rebie decided that she would escape this place, take those damned papers and ran from this hell.. Yes, for her father and mother, she wouldn't die.

But thinking it and achieving it were two different things.. And her bonds were pretty hard.."
