The Water In My Lungs

Introductions

Katherine Bradley cried in her room as she clutched the picture of him. Imogen's father. Her real father. The man she was going to leave her husband Sawyer for.

Justin had said no, and cut off all ties with her and his daughter as soon as she was born. He was killed in a car accident five years ago and his last words were to tell Anna and Imogen he loved them.

Now Anna was left with this huge secret and no way to tell Sawyer she'd cheated on him and Imogen was not his. How would she ever be able to let this secret go?

Andy and Imogen climbed off of his motorcycle. He offered her his hand and she gratefully took it. Was she really about to meet Andy Biersacks family?

When did this happen again? Oh yeah, yesterday. And he spent the night. At her house. In her arms. She blew out a sigh, this was so unlike her.

"Ready?" Andy smiled, and led her up the path to his trailer. Imogen was a little taken back by how small it was, but she didn't judge. Andy was a great guy and his family or the size of his home wasn't going to factor into how much she liked him or didn't.

"Definitely." She said, squeezing his hand. He grinned and brought there fingers to his lips.

"Now, my brother Daniel he is very cocky, he might say some things and please don't take them seriously. My dad, he probably won't say anything. He's an ass so I won't introduce you to him. But my mom, she is the sweetest women in the world. You'll love her and I know she'll love you." Andy said, taking a large breath afterwards.

"Okay." Imogen said, brushing his bangs away from his face. He smiled at her, and opened the door for her. He couldn't believe how much he wanted to kiss her. It was ridiculous.

"Ma, you in the kitchen?" Andy asked gruffly.

"Yes!" She called back. Andy noticed how clean the house looked. He texted her that they were coming fifteen minutes ago. That women was crazy..

They walked in the kitchen to see Andy's mother, father, and brother all seated at the table. His eyes widened when he took them all in. Pressed, clean clothes. Though his father looked like he just woke up. They all had sickening suck-up smiles on their faces. It was then he realized they did this because of Imogen's last name. He closed his eyes for a second trying to swallow his anger down.

"Hey guys this is Imogen." He said biting his lip ring.

"Hi!" Imogen sang, never loosening her grip on his hand. Andy's mother stood up.

"Hello, I'm Anna. This is my husband Robert and my son Daniel." Andy's mother said, smiling at her. She was prettier than Anna expected. Blue eyes that wouldn't quit, just like Andy and a thin, attractive frame. She thought her to be ugly since everyone was so fixated on Brooke. She could see now that Imogen was just as, if not prettier than her sister.

"Nice to meet you!" Imogen exclaimed. She felt oddly uncomfortable under the stare of Daniel and Robert.

"So Andy and you are dating?" Robert asked, or more slurred. Imogen assumed he was drunk.

"No we just met yesterday." Andy glared at him.

"Well you've never brought a girl home so I just assumed," He chuckled, "Lemme say Andy, you picked a sexy one. I wouldn't mind-"

Andy bolted over to him and almost punched him in the face but Daniel held him back. Anna had tears streaming down her face and ran to Imogen's side.

"I'm so sorry." She said, sadly.

"Wouldn't mind to fuck her." Robert grinned. Imogen felt horrified. Andy broke free out of Daniels grasp and punched his father square in the nose. Seething, he grabbed his collar, hearing his mother sobbing and Daniel screaming at him to stop. He glanced at Imogen. She looked so scared.

"If you ever talk about her like that again I will not hesitate to bash your face in. I don't care who you are because you're nothing to me." Andy shouted in his face. His father just let him yell, a sick smirk on his face.

"Did you fuck her yet? Cause if you don't, I-" Andy slammed his head down on the table and Anna screamed.

"Andy stop, your scaring Imogen!" She sobbed. Imogen stood there biting her lip, her hands folded across her chest, tears in her eyes. Andy ran to her side and pulled her to him.

"I'm so sorry." He mumbled into her hair. "Please forgive me."

"It's not your fault. Thanks for sticking up for me." She whispered in his ear. They noticed that Daniel had taken his father out of the room and now it was just Anna and themselves.

"I can't express how sorry I am." Anna said walking to the pair. "He's, he's drunk, and I think your so good for Andy! I-"

"It's alright." Imogen said softly, placing a hand on Anna's shoulder. Andy looked at her with big doe eyes. Where had this girl been all his life?

It was then that Imogen noticed the bruises coating Anna's arms. She felt disgusted when she realized what they were from. She looked at Andy seeing he took his jacket off, and scanned his arms. There were a few here and there but the only thing she could focus on was the nasty cigar butt shaped scar on his forearm.

"I'm just so embarrassed." Anna gasped, grabbing her sons other hand.

"Don't be." Imogen smiled warmly. Andy kissed her cheek.

"Come on." He said softly, and pulled her hand to where his bedroom was. He could hear his mother crying softly crying. They passed Daniel in the hallway, he had his head in his hands and was leaning on his fathers door. He looked up at them.

"I'm so sorry Imogen." He shook his head. She could see bruises on his arms too. How could a man be so cruel?

"It's alright." Imogen said hoarsely. She didn't know if she was telling the truth. It was just the first thing that popped out.

"I can't believe you tried to stop me." Andy seethed looking at Daniel.

"You would have killed him."

"I still might."

"Andy." Daniel shook his head.

"What good has he ever done us?" Andy shouted.

"Gave us life." Daniel replied.

Andy scoffed, "Did you hear what he said!?"

"Yes I did."

"And the things he's done to us over the years, god Daniel!"

"Andy, I know. I'm not saying what he did is right, I'm saying you can't hurt him!" Daniel said.

"It never stopped him." Andy spat and pulled Imogen away from him. He led her to his room and slammed the door behind him. He sank down, his back against the door. Imogen sat with him and placed her hand on his back. She leaned in and kissed his cheek. He looked pained as he just stared down between his knees.

"Andy talk to me." Imogen said. He glanced up at her, tears filling his eyes. He dove in her arms and she tangled her fingers in his hair.

"I'm so sorry." He sighed, shakily, "Imogen, I should have never brought you here. My dad he.." He shook his head.

"Andy, I saw those bruises on your moms arm. On your arms. On your brothers. I'm worried about you." Imogen mumbled against the top of his head.

"I'll be fine." He said breathing in her scent. She had become his light in his dark world and for that he was grateful.

"Really? What about this?" She said grabbing his arm and pointing to the scar on it. He exhaled and looked at her.

"It was a few months ago we.." Andy shook his head, "We got in a fight, and he burned my arm with his cigar."

Imogen's eyes filled with tears, she gasped, "Andy you," She let out a sob and he circled his arms around her. He rocked her back and forth as she cried, "I'm worried for you. Please don't get yourself hurt." He felt his heart flutter at her concern. At the fact that she was crying for him. At the fact that she wasn't turned off by his erratic family. He was certain that her sister would have been. Like every other girl he dated. Andy's reputation wasn't as credible as it may seem. He may not be a virgin but the reason his relationships never lasted was his home life, "I-I like you too much."

"I won't." He said pressing his lips to her temple. She closed her eyes and buried her face in his chest.

"Don't pick fights you can't win. I really want you around." She mumbled. Andy nodded and stroked her hair, just trying to calm her down. He felt so much for her just in one day. He was almost frightened to see what was to come. To see if he would grow to truely love her.

"I know. I will be. For you." He said squeezing his eyes shut and praying it was true. His father was a terrifying man.

"Andy?"

"Yeah?" She was silent for a moment trying to form her words and finally just sighed.

"Never mind." He lowered his eyes towards her to see her tracing a tattoo on his arm.

"No, tell me." He pleaded. She just kept running her fingers over the ink.

Finally she said, "I really want to kiss you."

Andy's face softened, "God me too."

"Would it be slutty if we did?" She said softly.

"I don't think so, and isn't that all that matters?" He said tilting his chin up to his. Her eyes were locked on his kissable, pink lips. She bit her own and that sent him over the edge. He crashed his mouth down to hers and immediately a fire started burning in his stomach. The kiss was sloppy and passionate and filled with so much bonding Andy thought he was going to explode. His hand pressed in the small of her back, getting her as close to him as he could get her. She squeezed his waist so tight, wanting to get as much of him as she could. She brushed against his bare skin and he moaned slightly. "Imogen, what the hell are you doing to me?"

"I was about to ask you the same." She said, as he pulled away only to suck on her neck. She gasped as he found her weak spot and he smiled. He'd always had a talent for that.

Andy had never felt this way before. They come from different worlds, no more than ten minutes ago his father basically talked about raping her. Now they were kissing in his room.

Imogen guided his head back to her lips and he completely engulfed her in his arms. She rubbed his chest making him basically whimper for her. He knew he'd have to stop soon or he might do something they'd both regret.

"Dear lord what have I gotten myself into?" Andy said against her lips. Imogen laughed and kissed him one last time before pulling away. She rested her head on his chest and he gently massaged her muscles. "What do you want to do today?"

"Be in your arms." Imogen said, honestly.

"I don't think we have a place for that. I don't want you in this house anymore. I'm afraid he'll do something when he wakes up and I won't be able to protect you. I'm so god damn selfish, Imogen. If I really liked you I would let you go." He shook his head, "I'm not worth it, but your worth everything."

"No Andy I-" Andy silenced her by lightly kissing her lips.

"I'm not saying I'm going too. Like I said, I'm too selfish." He said crushing her to himself.

"Good." She said. "Your not selfish, I want this too."

"Alright." He chuckled, "I have to change though." Imogen groaned and nodded. She climbed off of his lap and they both stood up. For the first time she looked around Andy's room.

It was small; really small. Maybe the size of her bathroom and closet combined. There were two beds no more than a foot apart. One side of the room was covered in band posters and drawings of what seemed to be tattoos and the other was bare. Headphones were scrawled across what Imogen assumed to be Andy's bed and it was un-made. It described his perfect care free attitude that she liked so much about him.

"Are these tattoos?" She asked.

"Yeah, I love drawing them. It's what I want to do when I'm older. Just gotta get out of here first." He chuckled.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Andy toss his shirt off. She swore under her breath when she saw his toned chest. Too soon, he replaced the shirt with a new one. Carelessly, he stripped all the way down. Chuckling as he saw Imogen turn away quickly.

"Your not shy at all are you?" She muttered.

"Nope."

"Wow."

"You love it." He grinned and walked over to her now fully dressed. He placed his hands on her shoulders and spun her around. He kissed her quickly yet passionately. "Where are we off to my lady?"

Imogen chuckled, "Wherever." Andy was silent for a moment as he pondered where to take his beauty. There weren't many places to go in Hadley Falls, especially where they could be together without anyone bothering them. Their houses didn't work so Andy could only think of one other place.

He smiled at her excitedly, "Come on." He took her by the hand and led her out of his room.

Thankfully his fathers door was still shut and the house seemed to be empty. He got Imogen out without a word to anyone and pretty soon they were speeding down the street on Andy's bike.
Riding with her was different now that they kissed. It was more of a 'this is my girl' feeling. Her hands wrapped tightly around his waist, clearly not out of fear, but out of the desire to feel him pressed against her. Her chin rested in the crook of his neck. Even though right now they were just friends they both knew they were each other's.

Andy parked the bike in front of a path to the old bike trail that led up to Lake Ocala. No one rode up it during the winter because it was so cold but it was the only place he could think of for them to be alone.

"The lake?" Imogen raised her eyebrow. She knew of Lake Ocala from her parents party every year. It was always held on the old dock.

"Have you ever seen it in the winter?" He asked.

"No." Imogen shook her head. Andy grinned and pulled her to his side. He ignored the blatant 'no trespassing' sign and started the trek up to the lake. "I'm tired." Imogen sighed.

"Me too." Andy said, but a smile appeared on his face remembering how it felt to sleep with her. Imogen was smiling too, she leaned up and kissed his cheek.

They walked the rest of the way in a comfortable silence and when they got there you could hear an audible gasp come from Imogen.

The lake was completely frozen. Along with the branches of the trees that hung delicately over it. Imogen felt her cheeks turn rosy red as a gust of wind blew by. Andy took her hand and led her to the dock. It was slippery due to the little bit of ice on it.

They laid down on a bench at the end of the dock. Imogen on top of Andy. His arms locked around her waist. She felt so safe and warm despite it being so cold outside. Andy's chin was on her head as they looked out at the beautiful sight before them.

"Do you sing?" Imogen asked. Andy glanced down at her, loving the sight. Her eye lids were drooping slightly and her lips were shut tight.

"Why do you ask?" He said.

"I don't know. You seem interested in it." She said, not looking up at him.

"Sometimes." Her eyes finally drifted up towards him.

"Sing for me." She pleaded resting her chin on his chest so she was looking at him. He chuckled a smile playing on his lips.

"What should I sing?" He asked. Imogen thought for a moment.

"Lucy."

"By Skillet?" Andy raised an eyebrow. She nodded, "Too sad."

Imogen sighed and stuck out her lower lip. He leaned down to kiss it causing her to blush.

"I don't really sing for people that much, Im." He said biting his lip ring.

"Am I really just people, Andy?" She said.

"Of course not. You're so much more." He said playing with her hair.

"Then why not sing for me?" She whined.

"How about this," He said letting his hands rest on her ribs, "I'll write you a song and then I'll sing it
for you. I'll do it on your birthday."

She smiled softly, "Sounds good."

"Guess what?" Andy said.

"What?"

"You're amazing." He smiled.

She giggled, "You're silly."

"Thanks honey." He pressed his nose to her's. Imogen sighed happily but was worried. What if this was all taken away from her by the one and only Brooke Bradley?

Thank you SOOO much! I have a lot more of your interested, but I know you already read a lot of them! Its not over, and won't be for a bit. I'm in the process of writing it still and I have been for a long time so I'm too emotionally attached to stop haha!

So, I just read this entire thing in two days.. First, WOMAN! Tell me when you have new stories! I'm terrible at finding things, and you know how much I enjoy your writing. Two, I just sobbed my eyes out. This was beautiful. I cannot tell if it's over, but I'm so in awe, I can't even handle it. You're amazing. <3
