“You look like crap.” CC pointed out to me as I sat on the floor of the venue with my box of tissues and bottle of water.

“Thank you for pointing that out to me.” I answered. “Stupid Ben got me sick.”

“Hey you’re the one that insisted on helping me out.” Ben defended himself and sat on the ground with me.

“Well it seems you’re assistant wasn’t too willing to help out.” I glared over at Taylor who was talking it up with Andy and Ash. She had said that she didn’t know how to handle sickness and asked if I could get Ben what he needed.

“And I am eternally grateful to you for restoring me to almost perfect health.” Ben answered taking a sip from my water bottle.

“She seems really hung up on Andy lately.” Ben pointed out.

“Yeah.” CC chimed in. “If someone was all over my man I would tell them how it is.”

“I hope you don’t have a man. Katelyn would be very disappointed.” I answered trying to avoid the conversation. I had noticed it also. Whenever I wasn’t around Andy it always seemed like she needed to be.

“You know what I mean Riley.” CC replied.

“If she’s stepping over the line Andy will say something.” I answered. I groaned and laid down on the ground.

“Your pants don’t match your outfit. They’re blue, not black like you might have thought.” Taylor said coming over to us.

“At this point I couldn’t really give a fuck about my clothes matching.” I answered covering my face with my arms. I didn’t want to see the little face she gets when she thought she was being helpful. In reality she was just full of shit.

“I was…” She started saying but Ben interrupted.

“Just leave her alone right now.” Ben said sounding just as annoyed as I was. “Why don’t you go get me some Monster’s and an Amp?” That’s why Ben was one of my best friends, he always stood up for me even when I was terribly wrong.

I could feel someone stepping on my feet like they were trying to keep them from moving so I looked up to see that it was Andy. “What are you doing trouble maker?” I asked with a smirk.

He smirked back at me, “What do you think? I’m up to no good. Why don’t you go back to sleep?”

“Because there is assisting that needs to be done.” I answered.

“Well you need your sleep so that you can get better. And we’re almost done so we don’t need your assistance.” Andy replied.

“I’ll be his bitch it he needs it.” Ben chimed in. “It’s the least thing I can do because you helped me.”

“I can’t sleep without you.” I said trying to think up excuses to not go back to sleep.

“We both know that is bullshit.” Andy said chuckling. “But I will lay with you after we are done here.” He stepped off of my feet and held out his hand to help me up.

I sighed, “Fine. I’ll go back to bed.” I grabbed his hand and he hoisted me up.

“See you later.” Andy said and kissed me.

“So I heard that you weren’t going to be singing tonight.” Taylor said coming up to me after Andy left to have a cigarette.

“That’s right. I’m not singing because I’m sick.” I answered. Andy had told me that he wouldn’t let me perform because of me being sick and the fact that it could make me worse or even ruin my voice.

“Do you think that he would let me sing tonight? You know since you can’t sing? I’m quite good at singing.” She said with a smile.

“I don’t think so because it’s something for me and Andy.” I replied not understanding why she thought he would let her sing. “Why don’t you ask Danny if you could do something with him? They have that one song Someone, Somewhere.” I suggested trying to be nice.

She scrunched up her face in disgust. “No thanks, I think Danny is a horrible singer.”

I looked at her dumbfounded. I thought that Danny was an excellent singer and very diverse. He might have his moments but he was still a good singer.

I think CC could see my inner battle because he called me over. “Can you help me put this black shit on?” CC asked holding out the body paint.

“Yeah sure.” I answered and walked over to him, leaving Taylor where she was standing.

“I thought you were about to deck her.” CC whispered to me so that Taylor couldn’t hear.

I looked over in her direction to see her leaving the room. “She wanted to know if Andy would let her sing with him. And then when I suggested her asking Danny she said that he was a horrible singer.”

“Well it’s a good thing that she works for him.” CC said sarcastically.

“I know right?” I responded. “I really wish that she would stop hanging all over Andy. I find it kind of annoying that when I’m not with him she has to be right there. I thought she was supposed to be hanging around Asking, not us.”

“Maybe you should tell Ben to give her more jobs to do. Like get them obscene stuff or something. That way she doesn’t have all that extra time to be cozying up to Andy.” CC answered and started to put his body paint on.

“I don’t think I’m going to do anything. If Andy doesn’t want her around, he’d say something. Besides I highly doubt she’d be able to steal him away from me. So I should not be bothered by it.” I replied.

“But she’s annoying you and annoying me. One of these times you’re going to punch her and I’m not going to want to stop you.”

“I won’t punch her. She’s not worth the trouble.” I answered as Andy walked over to us.

“So, Taylor asked me if she could sing tonight.” Andy stopped in front of CC and I.

“Oh hell no.” CC chimed in. I elbowed him earning an ‘oomph’ from him.

I crossed my arms across my chest trying to look neutral, “And you said?”

“No, that it was your job. You know the songs and everything. Just because you’re sick doesn’t mean that I would replace you.” Andy answered.

I smiled, “Thank you.”
