Stolen Heart

I looked in the mirror, my shirt was slightly baggy so it hid my baby bump. I wasn't sure what Ashley wanted to talk about, but I didn't want him knowing I was pregnant.

~Time Skip~

I walked over to the table where an already nervous looking Ashley sat. To my surprise he jumped up.
"I love you."
"What?"
"And... I want to be with you." Tears streamed down my face. "No baby, don't cry."
"I just...we can't. I come with someone else now." He stiffened, I knew he wouldn't want a baby.
"Does he make you happy?"
"Who?" What?
"The guy. Does he make you happy?"
"What guy? Ashley what are we talking about?"
"You said you had someone else. I just want you happy."
"Ashley, I'm not with a guy.. I'm...with child."
"And... it's mine?" I nodded, unable to look up at him, I knew it.
"You don't have t-"
"Jade-"
"I don't want any child support. I know you don't want a family."
"Jade?"
"No Ash, it's fine?"
"Marry me?"
"I'll just go- wait what?" I looked at Ashley who was now on one knee, holding a box with the most beautiful ring. Silver with a vine pattern, leaves surrounded small red gem.
"It's a real ruby. I know I'm not perfect, and I don't deserve you, but please be mine."
