Wretchedly Divine (Gasping for Air)
Chapter 8: I Thought You Were Sleeping
Ten o clock came around and I sat down in the white room yet again, closing my eyes and concentrating on the ever familiar presence of the girl.
She was asleep, and I knew I should go tell the guys to hold off, but I was distracted by an unexpected turn of events.
Prophet... Her subconscious called out to me. I was shocked that she had acknowledged me at all. Usually I was able to just observe her thoughts, and even influence her dreams, but she never spoke to me.
It's you, isn't it Prophet? She asked me and I was shocked.
"Yes," I said aloud, knowing the action would transfer to her subconscious. "It's me." I was hoping she was just dreaming, but was nearly positive that she wasn't. Her dreams were all pictures and knowledge, memories of spoke words, but never actual fabricated words.
You're lying. She told me, and I was shocked. If she thought I was lying then even ask?
"No I'm not!" I growled, hating to be called a liar.
The Prophet is dead. I don't know who you are, but get out of my head.
She was waking up. No, she was awake, shit.
How much do you know about my escape plan? She questioned coldly.
"Nothing, listen, F.E.A.R. has all of their personnel out right now if you leave tonight you'll be caught, wait until tomorrow." I told her, figuring I had nothing left to lose.
Liar! She screamed angrily. The intensity of her scream forced me out of my trance, and I felt the anger boiling. I was tempted to tell the guys not to go, but I regained my composure soon after and realized how stupid it would be of me to do something like that.
I walked out of my white room and was met by Ashley.
"Anything?"
"She was asleep, but I woke her up, she's planning on escaping tonight. I tried to tell her not to, but she wouldn't listen." I informed him.
He nodded, a grim smile on his face. "Thanks for trying, I know how anal you are about her."
"I'm not anal." I muttered.
"Whatever, Prophet." Ashley grinned then signaled for Christian to follow him and they headed off in search of our sixth member, our Deceiver.
"I'm not anal." I repeated, glaring at the back of his head. I leaned against the door of my white room, wondering if I should try and contact her again, but decided not to, figuring that upsetting her wasn't a good idea when she was about to undertake such a dramatic mission.
"Be safe, Ashtin."
Notes
For ease of writing I'm going to write everything in first person, I'll go back and change the he's to I's in a second, but another quick note, sorry about the shortness of the chapter, and all the filler-like substances that have been in them, but I should get a decent length and content filled chapter up tomorrow, where Ashtin is escaping, that should be fun XD
Thanks for reading
Ciao ♥
Ashtin
I am very impressed with this story. This has to be THE best story on this website as far as proper grammar, a very well thought out plot, and very detailed descriptions go, as well as the fact that I can actually just imagine what your characters are feeling, thinking, etc while I read. I adore this story, and hope you update again really soon! Keep up the fantastic work! :)
