I Got Carried Away

Andy Biersack

Just because we're a band, does that really mean we can't find a decent artist? Apparently so. This is New York City for Christ's sake! And the closest we've gotten to good art is a couple of fan girls who drew some stuff with hearts all around it. Don't get me wrong, love the fans, but some of them can draw. And some of them can't. I was just about ready to quit, when Jon said he got someone 'special'. I was both excited and scared at the same time.
"What time is Jon's girl getting here again?" I asked Chris. Chris shrugged and kept drinking his monster. I almost felt bad him. Almost. There was a quiet knock on the door.
"That would be her now." A smiling Jon came out from the kitchen to answer the door. To be honest, this was going to be interesting. The last time Jon pulled something like this was like five years ago. And we got a new drummer. Jon has this thing with gut feelings I guess. The door opened and Jon made way for her. She was a very pretty girl, with a crooked smile, bright blue blinkers, and soft honey brown hair that was pulled out of her face. In the corner Chris choked on his monster.
"Hello Jon." She greeted Jon with a smile and a handshake. Jon just smiled.
"Why don't you introduce yourself to the boys." He suggested, shutting the door behind her.
She took a few steps into the room and looked us over as she introduced herself.
"Hello, my name is Stella. I am a contemporary artist, mostly still art and people, and my preferred medium is drawing."
We took turns introducing ourselves, Chris almost tripped over himself and made her laugh.
After that, she took a seat and showed us her work and passed around her business card. We went through the standard questions, where you went to school, why you want to work for us, what kind of music you listen too, and you get the point. Everything seemed fine. But we hadn't discussed it. After what seemed like an hour of talking Jon finally wrapped things up.
"Well Stella, I will call you in the next few days if you got the job."
After that she smiled a bit more, said goodbyes to all of us and left.
"So..." Jon said, turning around after shutting the door.
"What do you boys think of my pick?" He was smiling, and we all knew why. Stella was our girl.
"I think I speak for all of us when I say 'Hells to the yea!'" Chris shouted. Jon grimaced at the shouting. As big of a big bad he was, the guy was not made for loud noises.
Jinxx was the first to pop up about an issue.
"Shouldn't we ask Karly first?" Jinxx was right about that.
"Nah, Karly said as long as she wasn't mean. I think we're good. Any other problems?" Jon was the first to answer.
"The only issue I foresee is how professional she is. We don't need somebody like that. We somebody who is gonna be chill, and it's gonna be warped tour. That means she isn't gonna wanna wear those kind of things." Jake gave his two cents from the couch. The only one who wasn't there was Ashley. Ashley had hit the bar a little too hard last night and was still passed out in his and Jake's room.
"Well, what do you guys suggest? We invite her to the water brigade?"Jon had his phone out.
"Yep." Chris said before exiting to the kitchen.
The annual water brigade happened before all of our tours. Everyone from stage managers to roadies, even ourselves had a capture the flag water fight up at our cabin in Michigan. I'm talking water balloons, water guns, snow, whatever we could get our hands on.
"Alright, I'll go call her then." Jon dialed on his phone, and made his way out of the hotel room.
