Love And Other Drugs

Wagon Jumping

Fuck You, Motherfucker.

Luxe smirked from her spot on the couch as she looked at Andy's back-the boney single finger salute shining like a beacon. The guys were playing their first show on the tour with Bullet and it was a hometown show. Club Nokia was packed full of people and Luxe could feel the energy buzzing through the air like a live wire. Luxe was there supporting Andy and the guys, but she also was there because after tonight the guys were moving North and then East.

This would be her last night with Andy for two months and Luxe was feeling pretty frantic. She and Andy had grown close over the last few months and they had especially gotten close once they had gotten home from Warped Tour. Andy had all but abandoned his condo and spent most nights at her place where they cooked together and the curled up on her couch and watched movies or talked.

They'd get up on their days off, leisurely laying in bed drinking coffee and talking until finally they'd get up and head out for the day. Farmer's Markets, Thrift Store surfing or just getting lunch-those were their days together.

But all of that was coming to an end and Luxe wasn't sure how to feel about it.

"You alright over there doll?" Someone asked and Luxe turned, seeing that Char and the other girls in her band were coming in to the room. They were late, but better late than never to send off their friends in BVB.

"Huh?" Luxe said, shaking her long blonde hair out of her face as she looked around. She had been starring off in to space and suddenly her vision was filled with all things Andy. He was wearing his black vest, his newly dyed black hair gelled and disheveled. He looked amazing.

"She's day dreaming again. Andy-can you move across the room...you're proving to be a distraction." Char teased and Luxe only smirked. Andy only shook his head, turning back to face the mirror as he finished up his eyeliner.

Luxe couldn't help but notice how much had changed in two years-how much they all had changed. When the girls had first started, they wore a ton of makeup, teased their hair to the ceiling until it threatened to fall out and their clothes were of a more gothic feel. Now they were all more relaxed-they were themselves. Of course Mads and Char still wore a lot of black and teased their hair, but Pixie loved color and Lulu liked looking natural. As for Luxe, she had removed her extensions, let her blonde hair grow out and was often seen in a pair of skinny jeans, a torn t-shirt and her leather jacket.

It was comfy, but she was still pegged the style icon.

"Sorry...I'll try to hurry up getting ready for my concert in my own dressing room..." He said sardonically and Char only flicked him off as she rooted around in the small cooler beside the couch. Luxe held her breath as Char pulled out a beer and quickly opened the cap.

"I thought you girls were on the wagon..." Ashley said, turning to face the five girls who were all huddled on the couch in the middle of the room. Luxe bowed her head, the redness to her face obvious as the room grew deathly silent.

They had been on the wagon-Mads had gotten back from rehab not even two weeks before-until Char, Pixie and Lulu had begun to slip. It had started with a girls night at Char's place where a bottle of wine was uncovered in a cabinet and it was agreed that they would each only have one single glass. Luxe had declined, but had watched with jealousy as the three other girls indulged. Then it had turned in to a few beers, then Char and Pixie were going out to Crow on the weekends. It had been hush hush at first, but now the girls were openly drinking.

No drugs had filtered through to their circle yet, but Luxe knew it was only a matter of time.

"Still cruising on the wagon-we just detour every once and a while." Pixie explained as she took a sip from her own beer. Andy only stood there with his mouth slightly open, his hands leaning up against the counter behind him as he looked down at Luxe.

Had she known about this? How long had it been going on?

"Is that-uh-is that healthy?" CC asked, an energy drink in one hand while his other held his drumsticks.

"I look at it this way-when people diet and deny themselves the food they want all the time, then they completely crash and burn. Me having a beer every once and a while is keeping me sober." Char explained. Luxe couldn't look up and see Andy because she knew that disappointed look was on his face.

"I mean I guess it makes sense." Jake said from his place in the corner. He had his guitar in his hands and was tuning it-something Luxe knew he did to relax.

"Luxe?" She froze, her breathing all but stopping as Luxe slowly looked up and met Andy's gaze.

God he looked so fucking disappointed in her and it made Luxe want to crawl in a hole and die. Even though she wasn't partaking in the other girl's bad habits, she had still known about it and that made her an enabler. Andy had been Luxe's enabler and he knew how dangerous a relationship like that could be.

Luxe had sat by and watched as the girls indulged, even a little bit, and she had said nothing. Her first reaction should of been shock and then she should of called someone-Alex or their counselor-but instead Luxe just sat there and let it all happen. Clearing her throat, Luxe finally locked eyes with Andy and tried to smile.

"Yeah babe?" She said sweetly, but she could tell that Andy wasn't buying it.

"Did you know about this?" He asked and Luxe's eyes grew wide. Was he really doing this right now?

"I-um-don't you want to talk about this after the show?" Luxe said, quickly getting up and walking over to him. Her small hands wrapped around his waist and Andy only looked down at the girl before him.

He had been so proud of her-she had stayed clean for almost six months, but now it was looking like Luxe and the girls were getting back in to bad habits.

"Just tell me...are you drinking again?" He asked in her ear lowly and Luxe only smiled and pressed her lips against the side of his neck.

"No. I promise." She said and that seemed to be good enough for the singer.

The couple embraced, the rest of the room quietly ignoring them like normal. Everything turned in to a whirlwind as the guys all finished getting ready and began to filter out towards the backstage. Andy stayed back in the dressing room, with Luxe taking a seat in front of him on the counter as he warmed up. She distracted him easily, kissing his neck and his adam's apple, but soon enough it was time for Andy and Luxe to head to the stage. The guys weren't headlining this tour, which was strange, but it would be a good break for them.

"Promise me you aren't drinking or using again Luce..." Andy said, stopping at the side of the stage. Luxe just looked at him-the rest of the guys were already out on the stage and she knew that the audience was going to get restless.

"I promise babe...I would never do that to either of us again." She said and Andy only smiled as he pressed his lips against her's quickly before running out to the stage.

Luxe stood on the side of the stage, leaning up against a guitar storage case as she watched the boys run around out there. The girls were behind her, laughing and giggling about something, but Luxe was paying them no mind.

They were falling back towards the hellish place they had been a year ago and try as she might...Luxe knew she was probably going to go down with the ship.

Notes

Looks like Luxe might now be safe from temptation after all.

How will she deal with Andy being gone?

Review to find out<3

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
