Love And Other Drugs

Summer Lovin'

"How the fuck are you Tampa?!" Luxe called out to the crowd and heard their loud screaming in return. She had missed this-she had missed them.

"We are The Hollywood Dolls and we're here to play a few songs for you!" Luxe smirked in to the mic and the girls right in front screamed and shouted the songs they wanted to hear.

"Do Your Worst!"

"Broken!"

"Make Me Wanna Die!"

The list went on and on and Luxe only smiled at the girls. Of course the fans wanted to hear their old songs-those songs had made the band who they are and it was foolish of the girls to think that they should break away from that formula. Luxe knew if she could go back to that recording studio in Seattle, if she could go back to those moments of writing on the floor with Char in their huge rented house, Luxe would change everything. She would of told herself to stop and rethink what she was doing because those songs weren't Doll songs. They were great songs, but not for a full length album...not for the Dolls.

"This is a new song off of our EP "Burnt Pages" and it's called I Miss The Misery!" Luxe yelled out and there was an uproar. This song had exploded and the video for it, which had just come out the previous week, had already had over a million views on youtube.

Ohhh, I miss the misery!

I've been a mess since you stayed,
I've been a wreck since you changed,
Don't let me get in your way,
I miss the lies and the pain,
The fights that keep us awake-ake-ake
I'm tellin you!

Luxe sang her heart out, her left foot coming to rest up on the speaker box in front of her, the black leather heating in the sun. She had developed this rocker look over the summer that was more Janis Joplin and less Marilyn Manson, but she loved it. Her shorts were short, high waisted and had rips and tears all over the place. She had on a pair of white fishnets, her legs ending in a set of glossy black boots that she rarely took off. Her shirt was a BVB shirt that she had cut the sides out of, which was funny because that's what Andy did with all of his shirts. Her hair was no longer teased, but hanging down her shoulders and getting in her face. She looked like she stepped right out of the late 70's and she loved every second of it.

I miss the bad things,
The way you hate me,
I miss the screaming,
The way that you blame me!
Miss the phone calls,
When it's your fault,
I miss the late nights,
Don't miss you at all!
I like the kick in the face,
And the things you do to me!
I love the way that it hurts!
I don't miss you, I miss the misery!

Shockingly enough Andy was rocking out pretty hard to this song, but he always did when they played it. He had declared it his favorite song that they had ever done, which shocked the shit out of the girls because it was about him. Luxe had written it in a fit of anger after seeing a picture of him and some Hollywood tart walking around LA on Tumblr.

She had scribbled the words down so hard and so fast that her pen tore through the paper. But it had been a healing experience and Luxe had come to terms that she and Andy had to move on from one another. She didn't miss him, but she missed all of the moments with him, and the miserable moments stuck out the most for her.

I've tried but I just can't take it,
I'd rather fight than just fake it (cause I like it
Rough),
You know that I've had enough,
I dare ya to call my bluff,
Can't take to much of a good thing
I'm tellin you!

Luxe looked out in to the crowd and smirked as they all sang along with her, screaming her words right back at her, which always made her smile. It had been so long since they had been on a stage that the girls had been nervous at first about coming out for the summer. It would be rough at first and there would be a lot of kinks that they would have to work out, but by the third show the girls felt like they had never left. Their meet and greet lines at their tent usually wrapped around the nearby area and Kevin Lyman had to give them extra personnel to handle the over flow.

The song ended and the girls went in to another song, but Luxe couldn't focus for some reason. As the girls played a slower song off their EP-Innocence-Luxe kept looking over at Andy standing on the side of the stage. He was so close to being on the stage that she was sure some of the fans could see him and that was unlike Andy. He didn't want to distract from any band's set, but the smile on his face as he watched her move around the stage was so pure and loving that Luxe could feel it in her bones.

Andy loved her, even after all she had put him through, he still looked at her the same way he did when they had first realized that they didn't hate one another. Seeing him standing there, his arms crossed loosely over his chest as he watched, Luxe felt breathless and she had to take a moment to compose herself. She probably shouldn't let Andy effect her like this right now since she was trying to perform, but it was hard not to lock eyes with him.

The girls played through three more songs, a few from their first record and one from their second, until finally it was time for them to leave the stage. Luxe walked to the very edge, t-shirts in her hands as she tossed them out to the crowd and watched the girls in the middle scramble with one another to get one. Mads was beside her, smirking as she tossed out her signature black and red sticks, while the other three girls flung their picks out towards the screaming crowd. Luxe stopped by the mic on her way to the side of the stage, waving to those who had stuck around.

"Thanks so much guys! We are The Hollywood Dolls and we'll see you next time!" She said, waving to them all before exiting the stage and falling in to Andy's arms. She knew that if people looked hard enough from the audience that they would spot the two and take photos, but she didn't care.

"I think we need to talk..." Andy whispered in her ear as Luxe hugged him, her sweaty arms sticking to his skin and she only nodded against his chest. They did need to talk-they needed to talk about a lot of things.

"I know..." She said, still holding on to him. She didn't want to let go, but she knew she would have to in order for them to move.

"Wanna go now?"

"Your bus or mine?" She asked and he only smiled, shrugging his shoulders.

"Doesn't matter." He said and Luxe finally let go of him, but Andy softly placed his hand against the small of her back. They faced the two bands, who were gathering their stuff to head back to the busses or the catering tent.

"Guys-we're gonna go for a walk...we'll be back." Andy announced and CC only smirked at him.

"Use protection man..."

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." Char and CC both said and Luxe only stuck her tongue out at them.

The two of them walked off, heading down the stairs from the side of the stage and then the fans swarmed. They were held off by a chain link fence, but Andy and Luxe both stopped to take a few pictures and sign some pictures. Doing this together made it feel like it had been when they first toured together and were forced to do M&Gs as a large group. Finally they were able to break away and Andy, to the shock of all around them, grabbed for Luxe's hand and led her off towards the back area of the catering tent.

Luxe let him lead her around, not caring where they went as long as they were together and they sat down to talk things out. Finally they seemed to come to a stop under a stand of trees and Andy pulled her down, his back up against the bark of the tree as Luxe sat beside him and hugged her knees to her chest.

She looked at him, noticing that his nose was getting sun burnt and he was getting a few freckles dotting his skin. It was strange being with him like this-peaceful and quiet since when they were together they seemed to only shout at one another, especially in the end.

"So..." Luxe said, her arms still wrapped around her knees as she looked at Andy. He was chewing on his lip ring, his blonde bangs hanging in front of his eyes.

"So...how're you?" He asked and they both smirked. This was awkward. Why was it so awkward?

"I'm good. What did you want to talk about Andy?" Luxe asked as she moved, spreading her legs out in front of her in the grass and she smirked-Andy's eyes seemed to be drinking her in.

"Us-I guess." He said and then smiled, one blue eye closed as the sun was shining on them brightly.

"What about us?" She teased. He seemed so flustered as he tried to find the words and Luxe loved seeing him like this. Andy was always so composed, so ready to say the correct thing that it was fun seeing him struggle a little.

"Luxe...I still have feelings for you. I-I don't think those feelings ever really went away." He admitted and Luxe only smiled as she looked off in front of them. Bands were walking by, heading towards catering or towards their nicely air conditioned busses.

"What about little Miss Hollywood?" She teased and Andy blushed deeply. The girl had been a mistake-a way for him to distract himself from his true feelings. He had missed Luxe, but he knew he had to give her space to work on herself and he was still angry with her.

"I haven't really thought of her these past few months." Andy said, locking his blue eyes on Luxe's face and the female singer felt like she couldn't move. It was what she wanted to hear and not what she wanted to hear...all at the same time.

"W-what should we do?" She asked and then gasped as Andy leaned forward and placed his lips against her's in the most passionate and longing kiss they'd had in a very long time.

Notes

Aww...they're so cute. I wonder how long it'll last this time around...

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
