Luxe looked over the set list for the coming show and inhaled a deep breath. The girls had sat down and made a list of all the songs-new and old-that they liked performing and had then handed it over to Alex. It had then been thrown away and he had developed his own list, in the order that he wanted things done and wouldn't hear their protestations about how unfair it was.

Luxe was actually okay with the new list-they had a good representation of both old and new songs and she was shocked that Alex was letting her perform some of the more pop sounding songs.

Of course this wasn't coming without a price, as Luxe was finding out as she sat in the makeup chair while Chantal-their makeup artist-flew around her like a tornado. The girls were no longer allowed to do their own hair or makeup-this tour was too intense and the makeup had to be so specific that it wouldn't be feasible for the girls to do it.

Luxe looked up from the paper in front of her, staring at herself in the mirror and she tried to crack a smile. Her grey eyes were done up nicely, with lots of black and red to go with her outfit, the false lashes thick and dragging her lids down. Her lips were made up with a dark cherry red color, the corners of them fading to black due to some expert shading from Chantal. Her blonde hair, done by their new hairstylist Marcus, was teased and crazy as it stuck out from either side of her small top hat.

Luxe was the ring leader...in every way imaginable.

Her dress, with it's long train and black and red stripped pattern was a work of art and it was also heavy as fuck. She was only clad in the corset piece and underskirt at the moment, but even that was heavy and Luxe was dreading having to finish getting ready. She also had on killer boots-eight inches in height and covered in spikes. Luxe wasn't the only one who would be uncomfortable-all of the girls had incredibly elaborate outfits.

Well except for Mads, who was already dressed and stage ready. She was wearing a bikini top, the leopard pattern standing out against her black leather pants. Her makeup was minimal, but she had some leopard printing on each side of her face and her all black hair had been teased in to a crazy mohawk.

Char was sitting nearby, Marcus finishing up on her purple hair, which was pulled back in to two pig tails, filled with teased and braided hair extensions. Her dress was amazing, but heavy like Luxe's and the guitarist was grumbling about how she was going to move around on stage. The dress was all black, short in the front with a huge bustle in back that was covered in torn lace and black feathers.

She looked like a raven and her makeup hinted to as much-her light eyes were framed in thick black makeup and her lips were painted a deep purplish black. Her face was contoured to look more angular, which was a good look for her. Her legs were sheathed in black tights, covered in fishnet and ending in a pair of spiked heels that were going to be impossible and painful to stand in.

Pixie was equally as miserable in her showgirl outfit-as she liked to call it-which was pretty much a one piece bathing suit covered in rhinestones that glittered under the lights. She also had a bustle on her back, the layers upon layers of hot pink fabric trailing down till it met the floor. She was wearing the same shoes as Char, but in bright pink-everything on this outfit was in different shades of bright pink.

Her hair was teased and puffed, the half pink and now half purple hair sticking up from under a small hat like Luxe's. Lulu was in an identical outfit, only her's was a very dark blue color and her pure white hair now was streaked with the same coloring.

All of the girls were miserable and thinking of a mass mutiny.

"This is bullshit." Char growled, getting up from the chair she had been sitting in and coming over to where Luxe was seated. Chantal was done with her makeup and was now spraying her face with a liquid to keep everything from smearing.

"Tell me about it." Pixie groaned as she flopped down on a nearby couch, her dress with all it's ruffles nearly swallowing her whole.

"Least Mads gets to be comfy." Lulu whined as she cracked open a bottle of water and took a sip.

"Yeah but that's only because I have to move so much...otherwise I'd look like a giant turkey too..." Mads said, smirking as she teased Char and the guitarist only flipped her best friend off and looked down at Luxe.

"You gonna be okay Luxe?" Char asked, placing a ringed hand on the singer's shoulder. The girls were all concerned for the singer-who had collapsed the last time she had worn a corset.

"I'll be fine. Alex had my corset specially made-it has plastic boning in it instead of metal like yours so that I can breathe. It was the only way I would agree to wear it." Luxe stated and Mads only scoffed. Things had been weird between the two girls-once so close and now they were back where they had started.

"You actually got a choice?" Mads stated and Luxe only rolled her eyes and looked down at her black and red nails. They were pointed on the ends, like claws and she silently wondered if she could take out someone's eye with them.

"You spend two days laid up with a lung infection and trauma caused by a corset and then ask me why I got a choice..." Luxe stated and watched as Mads' eyes turned to slits and the drummer flew out of the room. They all jumped as a loud bang could be heard and they knew it was Mads taking out her anger on a wall or door.

"Luxe!" Char said, shocked at the usually timid girls outburst. It was very unlike Luxe to talk like that unless she was feeling really provoked.

"What?! She fucking started it...it's not like I demanded to be put in a different corset..." Luxe said, sulking as she crossed her tattooed arms across her chest. She didn't need this right now-she didn't need the added drama when she was already trying to stay clean.

"I know...can we please just get along though? It's only night one of a very long tour." Char said, trying to keep the peace.

Luxe only sighed, nodding her head as she turned to face the mirror and look at her reflection.

Who had she become? Who was this girl she was looking at-the one with the tired eyes. She used to be so happy...free and she used to actually look forward to getting on stage. Now she was dreading it, especially her entrance as she would be coming from the ceiling. Her dress had been made with secret hooks that would hold her up, a harness built in to her bodice and corset.

She would be the first on the stage, coming down from the top as an overture of creepy clown music played as she was lowered. She would stand there, a single spot light on her as the other girls walked on stage and then she would welcome the crowd to the greatest show on Earth-the Creepshow.

The Hollywood Dolls would play first every night-there were no opening bands-and they would set the tone for the much darker atmosphere that MIW would come out to. Clowns, demented and twisted looking, had been walking the halls for the past hour, getting ready to head out and walk the line that was currently wrapping around the building.

Luxe wouldn't be the only one hanging from the ceiling-four trained aerialists would be performing during the first part of the girl's set and then coming back on once MIW entered the stage. Luxe would also be out on stage with MIW during their performance of A-M-E-R-I-C-A, dressed as a sideshow girl as she pranced around and teased the audience. It was all very cool sounding, but incredibly staged and even more stressful than it needed to be.

Why couldn't they just play? What was so wrong with the idea that Luxe and the girls would get out on the stage and just perform for their fans? Alex always had to make things in to a big deal-announcing who they were touring with, all of the packages, the tv spots that ran on both Fuse and VH1...it was all too much.

Luxe felt tired, sad and like she didn't want to do this anymore. Could she just quit? She had some money saved, but a lot of what she had made over the past year had been used up to feed her habits. She should of been smarter...she should of thought things through a little bit more.

"You ready to get the other part to your outift on?" Someone asked her and Luxe jumped-she had still been staring at her reflection, which was now accompanied by Pixie's. The small girl was standing at her side, holding up her long overskirt with the wide red and black stripes, in the air and Luxe only sighed.

"I really don't want to..."Luxe said in a joking manner. Pixie giggled as the singer stood up, keeping her back turned as Pixie held up the garment for Luxe to slip her arms in to. While Pixie worked to tie all of the strings, there was a presence hanging in the doorway.

Alex McFadden had stopped by and he looked less than pleased as he stood there, leaning up against the doorframe. He cleared his throat and the room turned to him-Luxe and all of the girls now fully dressed.

"Pixie, Char, Lulu, Marcus...Chantal. Leave us for a minute." Alex said and then glared when Char opened her mouth to protest. Luxe stayed where she was, her back against the makeup table as she watched the room empty and then Alex began to walk towards her.

"Luxe, how're you tonight?" Alex asked, his hands held behind his back as he approached her. Luxe swallowed, placing a smile on her lips. Finally Alex stopped in front of her, his eyes filled with fire as he looked her over.

"I-I'm good."

"Excited?" He asked, smiling at her.

"O-of course." She said and then whimpered as Alex reached out and roughly grabbed her chin, forcing her to face him and look him in the eye.

"Good because I would hate to hear that you weren't looking forward to this...I would also really hate to hear about how negative you've been about the band lately. I would very much hate for something to happen to you tonight...like your harness malfunctioning or something of that nature. Have a great show!" He walked away from her then, leaving the singer to collect her things and walk towards the small room that was set up for the M&G.

Luxe knew then that Alex McFadden wanted to destroy her and he could make it happen.

Notes

Seems like Alex is up to his old tricks.

Some reviews would be nice<3

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
