Happy Holidays

"Frosty the snowman...was a happy, jolly soul..." The singing was low in his ear and Andy only smiled as he rolled over, pressing his face in to his pillow.

It was Christmas morning and obviously Luxe was up and feeling the spirit. Andy popped his head out from under the pillow, a smile crossing his lips as he caught site of Luxe. She was sitting on the edge of their bed, pulling on a pair of pajama pants in a festive red and white stripped pattern. Her hair was messy, the short strands sticking up at odd angles and he could hear it in her voice as she sang that Luxe had also just woken up.

Andy smiled, pulling the blanket up to his bare chest as one of his arms snaked out and wrapped around her waist. Luxe shrieked lowly in shock and then giggled as she was pulled down to the pile of pillows and her lips were taken up by Andy's.

The couple had lived in a blissful world the past few months-they had gone to Ohio for Thanksgiving again and it was weird to think that it had been a year since they had decided to be friends. It had also been strange because it was the first Holiday after Andy had lost his grandfather and a sadness had hung in the air for the three days that they had been there.

Of course then they had come back to LA, diving in to getting ready to tour as much as ever. Luxe was put through the ringer, learning how to do aerial tricks and flips for the coming tour, while Andy traveled back and forth to do promotion for the movie that had premiered the night before.

The movie had been amazing and the fans had loved seeing the guys walk the red carpet, but now it was back to reality and today was just another day. Except it wasn't-it was Christmas morning and Andy smiled as he kissed Luxe's forehead and then let her go. But she didn't move-she stayed in her spot and soon enough two small kittens were mewling for them and Andy grinned as he bent over the side of the bed and scooped them both up.

Crow blinked at him before slowly curling in to a ball at Andy's side and Feather, with her crystal blue eyes, moved to lay on Luxe's pillow. They were a happy little family that in just two weeks would be split up for about four months.

"Merry Christmas Andy..." Luxe said, opening her eyes as she moved to lay on her side, facing him. Andy was laying on his back, his face towards the ceiling and he had a very light smile on his lips. His black hair had grown incredibly long, but it was getting ragged again and they both knew it would be time to cut it soon.

"Merry Christmas baby doll. You wanna get up and open some presents?" He asked and Luxe only smiled as she rolled over, nearly pushing poor Feather off of her perch.

"Sure. Come on Feather..." Luxe said as she rose, grabbing for the small shaking kitten. Andy stayed in bed, watching her go and once she turned the corner he then moved to get dressed.

The living room was completely decked out and Andy smiled as he turned the corner and took everything in. Luxe had decorated-claiming that she'd never really had much of a Christmas growing up and Andy could only let her do what she wanted. He could never imagine what it would be like not to have his parents in his life, especially because they had been so supportive of his career.

His dad was his bed friend, always on Twitter getting people in to the band or his personal projects and his mom was like his personal cheerleader, opening fan letters and sending things out to the kids who lovingly wrote him their deepest feelings.

Lucinda never had that and Andy knew that he wanted to be there for her...in every way.

The room was decorated with love-the tree having been decked out in strings of purple and white lights, along with large purple, black and silver bulbs that dangled and reflected all of that light. Icicles hung on lower branches and Andy chuckled as he passed the tree and noticed that Feather and Crow seemed to be making a game out of swatting at those icicles. Luxe was in the kitchen, making some toast and coffee for them and Andy could only stop in the doorway, his boney hip leaning up against the doorframe as he watched her.

"You look adorable running around the kitchen..." He mused and Luxe stopped working as she turned and leaned up against the counter. Andy was standing there, his black sleep pants hanging low on his thing hips and he wore a light grey Henley.

"Oh yeah. What's next-you envisioning me pregnant?" She said as she came up to him, placing her arms on his shoulders and Andy only looked down at the girl of his dreams. Could he imagine her pregnant? Did he want to have kids with Luxe?

"Uh..."

"Joking...I was joking Andy." Luxe laughed, pushing his shoulder lightly as she turned back around and finished working in the kitchen. Andy stayed where he was, his mind playing over images that kept coming up and he couldn't help but smile.

Luxe chasing after a small child, laughing and tossing her head back as the child sat down and began to babble. Luxe pregnant, with a large belly that he would touch and love as if the child were already here. A mini Luxe...a mini Andy. It all seemed so wonderful, but he knew that it wasn't going to happen any time soon.

"I-I knew that..." He stammered as he took the coffee mug from her small hands and the two of them began to head towards the living room. Crow and Feather had given up on their game and were now curled together on the back of the couch, staying warm with Andy's Batman throw.

"Sure you did. Want to go first?" Luxe asked as she took a seat on the couch and pulled a very thin present out from under the tree. Andy took the gift, holding it in his hands as he looked down at it. This was their first Christmas together and he really wanted to take every moment of it in.

"I have a feeling I know what this is..." Andy said as he slipped a finger under the wrapping and tugged. A small gasp escaped his lips as he looked down at the vinyl in his hands, taking in the cover art and the small signature that sat in the bottom right corner. Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA-an album Andy secretly loved.

"Surprise..." Luxe said softly and Andy only looked up at the girl sitting across from him and smiled.

"How...how did you know Luce?" Andy asked as he slipped the record out of it's cover and noticed it was still shrink wrapped. This was an original copy-never opened and never listened to.

"That first time we went to your parents for Thanksgiving...your mom gave me a tour of your room." She stated and Andy just looked at her. Had Luce really been paying that much attention to his childhood room?

"I happened to be looking at your CD collection and noticed the Bruce Springsteen one. Your mom said he was a favorite of yours, but that you didn't let a lot of people know that..." She said and then stopped as Andy had grabbed her cheeks and pulled her face towards his. They kissed, deeply and with so much love that the room almost felt like it could burst in to flames at any moment.

"An-And you remember that? That was over a year ago Luce..." Andy was still dumbfounded and Luxe only smirked as she pulled away and smiled at him.

"Of course I remembered. It clearly meant a lot to you and I had wanted to give it to you last Christmas, but I couldn't track one down until a few months ago." She said and Andy only looked at her, his blue eyes glazed with tears.

This girl cared so much for him-loved him so deeply-that Andy felt like he couldn't match her passion. Shaking his head, Andy moved to reach for a small package, thin like his own but it held more weight to it. Handing it over to Luxe, he blushed, knowing that she would understand as soon as she opened it.

Luxe took the package from him, weighing it in her hands before she began to rip open the paper. A small gasp left her lips as Luxe pulled out the binder, a few papers and two plane tickets. Her grey eyes looked everything over and Andy couldn't wait any longer.

"The binder contains all of the pictures we took from the tour-Pixie helped me track them all down..." Andy explained and watched as Luxe flipped through the pages. Their time on the road-the US, UK and European Tours were all there, their smiling faces lighting up each page.

"It's amazing Andy...thank you so much." Luxe said, but he wasn't done. Andy reached out, motioning for her to hand the binder over and Luxe only looked at him as she did so.

"There's more in that package for you to look at..." Andy said and then watched in happy silence as Luxe picked up the tickets next.

"T-tickets?" Luxe stammered as she looked down at the pair of tickets in her hands.

"To Paris. I thought after our tours we could spend some time in the grand city...since we didn't see much of it the last time we were there." Andy said and then laughed as Luxe tossed her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek before planting her lips against her own.

"Andy...that's too much!" She said, moving to sit back on her legs and Andy only smiled at her. They still had a few presents each to open, but it seemed that their big gifts had been put first.

"It's not. Come on Luce...two weeks in Paris, just you and me. It'll be a nice little vacation after all of the stress." He said, placing a hand against her cheek, his thumb rubbing over the skin of her lips.

"I love you...very, very much." She said, smiling and Andy could only smile back at the girl that he loved more than anything in the world.

"I love you too Luce." He said simply and reached for another present. It was a small CD-their next album and he wanted Lucinda to have one of the first copies of it.

"Now come on...lets open these presents so we can spend the rest of day in bed..." Andy smirked at her and Luxe could only smile back at him.

The couple spent the following hour, opening gifts from one another and drinking their coffee. Andy had in fact given Luce a copy of their new album, but funnily enough she had done the same thing. Socks, shirts, new ear pieces and other small things were opened until finally the room was covered in bright paper.

Crow and Feather were jumping around, playing with the discarded paper and ribbons, all while Andy and Luxe lounged on the couch together. They were supposed to go to Char's place, where everyone was meeting to have dinner, but both of them were more than happy to just stay in and enjoy one another.

New Year's Eve would be spent out, celebrating with the group, but for now the couple just wanted to enjoy eachother. They would soon be parting and the sadness was clear, but they wouldn't let that mar their time together. No, instead of wallowing, soon enough Andy and Luce were walking towards the bedroom to celebrate the holiday in the best way they could.

Notes

Ah another happy little chapter...stay tuned to watch it all crash and burn.

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
