Love And Other Drugs

Intoxicate Me

The bar was loud, crowded and Luxe didn’t know what the people were saying to her, but that was because they were in Paris, France and she didn’t speak French. The Tour had landed in France for a two day stint, which was over and soon enough they would all be flying back to LA for a few days rest before the final leg of the Tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Luxe and the girls had spent the last two weeks either on the stage, in interviews or at the various bars that littered the great European continent. Andy wasn’t happy-he and Luxe barely spoke to one another except when they had to be on stage together. They had completely regressed back in to their hatred for one another.

Luxe saw Andy as the ultimate party pooper. He was a grouch, only wanted to drink reasonably and spent all of his free time either writing, brooding or reading. Luxe had tried at first-after that night on the roof of the bus-to just act like everything was okay, but it really wasn’t. She had shown up at the bus door after that nights show, her night bag under one arm and a peace offering-a bottle of Jack-under the other.

Ashley had let her in, eyeing the bottle and taking it from her with a wink, but Andy was nowhere to be found. Luxe had spent that night drinking with CC and Ashley, until finally Andy made an appearance and glared at her on his way back to his bunk. She slept alone that night, in her old bunk and it had stayed that way.

Andy looked at Luxe like he did the other party girls that littered LA-desperate pariah who would do anything and anyone to make sure they made it to where they wanted to be in life. Andy watched as night after night Luxe drank herself into oblivion, then she would stumble to soundcheck the following morning, high on her uppers to stay awake and downing a beer or a shot to take the edge off.

Andy hadn’t seen Luxe, or any of the other girls for that matter, sober in the past few weeks and it was affecting their shows. Char was completely unable to play the right chords, Pixie and Lulu couldn’t focus on stage, they were floating so high and Mads was so drunk that she couldn’t hold on to her sticks long enough to get a settled beat.

The girls were a mess and as he stood at the bar and watched three of the five girls as they climbed up on to a table, Andy just shook his head. Pixie, Lulu and Char were all up on the nearest table, their short black and pink skirts hiked up so high that he could see things that he probably shouldn’t, and Andy cringed. Nearby Mads was sitting at the bar with CC, both of them betting who could take more shots.

Out of the five guys, CC was still in party mode, but even the loud and fun drummer knew when enough was enough. Where was Luxe? Andy looked around, his long black bangs falling in to his eyes and he sucked in a breath when he finally spotted her.

Luxe was seated in a far corner, her creamy looking legs sheathed in a short light grey skirt, her nicely shaped figure laced in a tight strapless black corset and her legs ended in a pair of studded black pumps that obviously gave her some height. Her beautiful face was done up in dark makeup, her grey eyes shining even underneath all of the black eyeshadow and liner. Her blood red lips were pulled into an easy smile and her blonde hair was teased and tousled.

She looked amazing and Andy was using all of his power to keep from walking over to where she sat. The one thing that was stopping him was the fact that Luxe wasn’t alone in her corner booth-there was a very attractive guy sitting beside her, with his large tattooed hand resting gently on one of Luxe’s legs.

“If looks could kill.” Someone said from his left and Andy turned to see Ashley sitting beside him, a tumbler of Scotch in a raised hand. The two of them watched Luxe, watched her giggle and toss her head back, exposing her neck and Andy saw red as the guy she was with moved to nuzzle his nose against her exposed skin.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Andy said as he turned in his seat, facing the bar once again and bringing his beer bottle up to his lips. He sipped slowly, too afraid to turn around as Luxe’s giggling had stopped and he didn’t want to think about what the reason was.

“Yeah you do. What’s going on with you man?” Ashley asked as he took a gulp of his drink and then placed the near empty glass down on the bar. He loved this city-Ashley loved the vibes that surrounded him when he was in a place like this.

“Look at them dude…they don’t even understand what all of this is doing to them.” Andy said, turning back around and facing the room with Ashley. The girls were still dancing on the table, Mads was still drinking CC under the table and Luxe had completely disappeared all together.

“They’re just having fun… you used to have fun like that too you know.” Ashley said and Andy avoided his best friends gaze. The bassist had a point-Andy had been this wild not even a year ago, but something had changed.

He had met Luxe and fallen in love.

“Things change.” Andy said as he finished off his beer and glanced around the bar. Where was Luxe? She had been sitting right there, in the corner booth, flirting up a storm and now she was gone. Andy felt his stomach clench as he thought of all the possibilities and yet he knew he shouldn’t care.

“You love her.” Ashley said simply and Andy knew he couldn’t deny it. He did love Luxe, but his love wasn’t a bandaid for her problems.

“She’s a drug addict.” Andy replied, but deep down he knew it didn’t matter. Everyone had problems and sooner or later Luxe would have to face her own problems.

“So? She likes to party and I’m sure she makes up for that in the bedroom.” Ashley elbowed him and Andy only blushed crimson and avoided Ashley’s gaze.

Ashley Purdy was a self proclaimed and self made ladies man-he had seen more tail than Andy couldn’t ever imagine and so of course the singer felt embarrassed. He and Luxe had decided that they were going to wait-not wanting to get in to a sexual relationship in the middle of a tour and in fact they had planned a lovely two days together, holed up in his condo between this tour and the Australian leg. But then their fight had happened and Andy didn’t think they would be able to get past it. Looking towards his best friend, Andy knew that Ashley could tell that he had yet to seal the deal and it was mortifying.

“I know you’ve tapped that Biersack!” Ashley said, shoving his shoulder and Andy stayed silent. What could he say? He couldn’t lie about it-there was no way to keep up with that kind of lie.

“N-no. She and I decided we wanted to wait until the tour was over…or at least until we were back in the states for a few days.” Andy said and he could tell that Ashley was trying to hold back his laughter. Andy was a hopeless romantic at heart and the notion of falling in love always made him happy. He just had terrible luck in finding a girl who felt the same.

“Aww…so sweet and incredibly lame! Come on man…lets find you a girl to wet your whistle.” Ashley said, laughter in his voice as he tugged on Andy’s arm. The singer reluctantly moved from his seat, keeping his eyes peeled for Luxe as he walked around the room.

While they walked, Ashley played his favorite game in bars, which was ‘Have you met my friend Andy?’ and usually the singer laughed and played along with it. Ashley was the ladies man-he loved women and he loved being around them, but Andy was more of a quiet corner type of guy. He wanted to get to know a girl and even if he did end up in bed with her later that night, at least he could say he knew her name, where she was from and what kind of underwear she had on.

Ashley just banged the shit out of a girl and sent her on her way, adding her number in to his phone as a local booty call he could hit up whenever in the area.

As Andy was circled around the room, he found that his heart just wasn’t in this kind of thing anymore. The guys were all having a good time-CC was now dancing on the table with Pixie and Lulu while Char, Mads, Jake and Jinxx were tossing back shots at the bar. He just wanted to go back to the bus, turn on Batman and sit around until he felt tired enough to sleep.

Ashley kept playing the game until finally Andy found himself being pulled towards the VIP room by Ashley, with two girls in tow and Andy found himself feeling miserable. Ashley had one girl sitting practically on his lap, which left Andy with the other girl.

“So, where are you from?” Andy asked the girl sitting beside him. Her blue eyes were heavily shadowed, her brown hair pulled back in to a braided bun and her jeans were so tight that Andy was sure he could see her credit card number through her back pocket.

“New York. You?” Andy was taken aback by her answer- he had thought that they were in a club with French girls. This girl spoke perfect English and now Andy found himself slightly intrigued.

“O-oh?” He stammered and she laughed, placing a tiny hand on his thigh as she looked in to his eyes and smiled at him.

“I’m here studying abroad. I’m a French Language major.” The girl explained and Andy suddenly felt a blush creep up his neck. Of course-that made complete sense, except now he couldn’t remember this girl’s name for some reason.

“Oh! I-I’m sorry, I don’t think I heard your name.” He said and the girl smirked at him, a one sided smirk that made her eyes crinkle at the corner.

“Courtney. And you’re Andy.” Of course…the ‘Have you met my friend Andy?’ game was always a charmer with girls, plus is allowed Andy from having to do weird introductions.

“Yep. So what brought you out tonight?” Andy asked, reaching out to grab for his beer and bring it up to his lips. He needed to relax, but for some reason this just didn’t feel right. This girl was nice, but she wasn’t the charismatic southern girl that was Luxe.

“Well we’re on winter break and my roommate wanted to let off some steam. You?” She asked with a smile and then sipped at her pinkish orange drink. Andy didn’t know how to answer that-trying to get a girl out of his mind was the true answer, but it would probably push this girl in the completely opposite direction.

“We’re touring with our band and needed a night off. The entire crew is here tonight, along with some of the other bands we’re touring with.” The mention of that other band made Andy’s stomach twist and then something else happened.

They were sitting in a booth that over looked the main bar and Andy saw someone stumble out of ladies room. The girl was tugging her skirt down, her lipstick smeared and her blonde hair was tangled and falling in her face. Andy felt his fists clench as he moved to get up, ignoring Courtney all together as he pushed past her and disappeared in to the bar.

Keeping a distance behind Luxe, Andy followed the singer until they were both outside and she was leaning up against the brick wall of the building. One look at her-taking in her nose which had a white powder dusted right around her nostrils. Andy saw red and as he walked swiftly towards her, Luxe’s breath caught in her throat and she cursed lowly.

“Fuck…” She said and Andy only smirked as he pushed her up against the wall behind her and did something that took them both by surprise.

Andy crushed his lips against her’s and Luxe felt herself let go and allowed him to do whatever he wanted.

She always would.

Notes

Looks like Andy has an addiction of his own-Luxe.

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
