Love And Other Drugs
A Very Merry Christmas Indeed
The room was festively decorated with white lights strung around the ceiling, a small Christmas tree sitting in the corner with a small pile of presents and there was a feast of a dinner sitting on a cart near the lit fireplace. Andy and Luxe were laughing as they sipped their hot cider and waited for the computer to connect to Skype.
It was 8 at night in the UK, which meant that it was about eleven in the morning at Andy’s parent’s house. It was Christmas Day and the couple were sitting around, laughing and giggling over the Christmas sweaters they were both wearing.
It had been a weird day-the night before they had spent with the group out at a local bistro where the girls had drank too much wine and ended up dancing on the tables. They had been kicked out, with Alex trailing behind them, practically tossing cash at the owner so that he wouldn’t press charges.
Andy had had to carry Luxe to the hotel, all while she kept kicking him until finally she passed out half way up in the elevator. He had gotten her in to bed and then called his dad-even though it was late at night back home.
Chris Biersack didn’t believe Andy at first-Lucinda had been so nice and lovely when she had visited for Thanksgiving. Andy explained-told his dad everything and Chris Biersack got very quiet. He liked the young girl that his son was obviously in love with, but it was apparent that she had some problems. Was rehab an option? No, they were in the middle of the tour and sending Luxe off could ruin everything.
Andy spent an hour on the phone with his overly tired father until finally they came up with a solution-Luxe would have to crash and burn to learn that the way she was living her life wasn’t going to get her anywhere. So here they were-laughing about their sweaters and avoiding the overly large elephant in the room.
“So-what did you get me for Christmas?” Luxe asked as she moved to lay on her stomach. They were both on the bed, mugs of hot cider in their hands as Andy’s laptop sat open on the plush comforter. Alex had the bands set up in a very nice hotel, which they would be leaving tomorrow morning to head to the airport for Germany.
“Not telling you.” Andy said, smirking as the computer finally seemed to connect and his parents image appeared on the screen.
“Hi guys!” The older couple called out to them and Luxe smiled. She loved Chris and Amy-they had quickly become like a family to her and Luxe often called Amy when she needed to let things off her chest.
“Merry Christmas!” Andy and Luxe both called out, smiles on their faces. They hadn’t talked about the night before and Luxe was hoping that Andy would just let it go…she didn’t want to ruin Christmas.
“Shouldn’t you all be saying Happy Christmas?” Chris asked and Luxe only smiled. It was true-everyone in the UK kept saying Happy Christmas and she had been sorely tempted to correct them. Andy-Mr. Expert-kept telling her that no, that’s just the way British people spoke, but she didn’t want to believe him.
“Very funny dad. How’s the weather?” Andy asked his father and Chris only smiled and wrapped an arm around Amy’s shoulders. Luxe sighed-she wanted that to be she and Andy one day, but something in her kept telling her it wasn’t meant to be.
“Cold. We got over a foot of snow last night.” Chris stated and Luxe only smiled and looked out the window of she and Andy’s hotel room. It had been snowing earlier that day and the two of them had had some fun, walking around and seeing the sites in the gorgeous weather. Now it was raining, the snow having melted and then iced over.
“How are you dear?” Amy asked Luxe and Andy held his breath. His parents knew all about Luxe’s problems and his mother especially was very concerned about her.
“I’m fine. Ready to head over to Europe and meet some more fans and play some really awesome shows.” Luxe said and the group all smiled.
They got off the topic of the couple and soon enough everyone was opening presents. Andy had gotten a limited edition Batman comic from his father and his mother had sent him a care package filled with some of his favorite American snacks. They had gotten Luxe a lovely bottle of perfume and a MAC giftcard which she couldn’t wait to spend. His parents both got tickets to an up and coming Motley Crue show, which included VIP seats and backstage passes. All in all it had been a good Christmas.
“Well have a good tour guys and don’t forget to call us when you land!” Chris said with a smile and Luxe only nodded her head. Chris had become very protective over her, even though they had only met the one time-it seemed like he was taking the role of her father. She didn’t mind…it was nice.
“Yes! And have a happy birthday Andy!” His mother called to him, blowing him a kiss before signing off. The screen went blank and Luxe only sat there. Birthday? When was Andy’s birthday?
“Um…Andy?” Luxe asked as she sat up, pulling her sweater down as it had begun to ride up, exposing her milky white stomach.
“Yeah?” He asked as he rose from the bed and headed over to where their dinner was sitting on a cart. Two plates of spiced ham, mashed potatoes, some carrots and two separate and smaller plates that had a slice of pumpkin pie sat underneath a metal dome to keep it warm. He was starving and grabbed both of the larger plates as he headed back towards the bed.
“When is your birthday?” Luxe asked as she took her plate and dug in to her potatoes. Andy laughed as he bit in to his roll, chewing slowly before answering her.
“Technically it’s today-December 26th.” He said and then laughed as Luxe choked on the piece of ham she had currently been chewing on. Crap! How had she not known that?
“Oh-uh…happy birthday?” She said after swallowing her food and Andy only laughed. She was so cute when she got nervous and right now she seemed really uncomfortable.
“Haha thank you baby doll.” He said, kissing the side of her head before the both of them lapsed in to silence while they ate their meal.
The couple finished their meal in silence, well It’s A Wonderful Life was playing, but the two of them were staying quiet and just enjoying one another. They still had to open their presents to one another and now Luxe was feeling bad because while she had gotten Andy a Christmas present, she had completely forgotten his birthday.
Andy smiled at Luxe as he grabbed for her empty plate and then moved to sit on the floor near the tiny tree that only had four presents underneath. Quickly Luxe joined Andy on the floor, sitting crossed legged as she reached for the small box that he was handing her and she felt her heart begin to pound.
It was too tiny to be anything but jewelry and suddenly Luxe felt bad. Her presents to Andy were nice-a customized Batman shirt and a brand new innerear piece set that had the Bat Symbol on the flat parts-but it wasn’t anything extravagant. Slowly Luxe slipped a finger underneath the paper flap on one of the ends and Andy watched with wide eyes as Luxe finished unwrapping the package to reveal a black velvet box.
It was long and felt heavy in her hands and Luxe took in a deep breath as she flipped open the lid and felt her grey eyes grow wide. Sitting on a tiny velvet pillow was a charm bracelet that glittered in the light.
Luxe spent time looking over each charm and with each one her smile grew wider and her eyes filled with tears. The first charm was a tiny diamond microphone, beside that a silver owl-which Andy knew she loved- then there was a small horseshoe for good luck, a golden rag doll and then finally a pure diamond heart that was a black diamond with a red ruby encrusted in the middle of it.
It was beautiful and so well thought out that Luxe found herself speechless. Andy noticed the fat tears that were rolling down her cheeks and he smiled as he leaned over a kissed both of her cheeks-hoping to make her tears vanish.
“I take it you like it?” He asked as he pulled away from her, his hands still in her long blonde hair and Luxe only smiled, nodding her head.
“I love it…I love you…” She said and Andy took that moment to kiss her lips softly before moving to help her put it on.
“I’m glad you like it and I love you too.” He said as he got the clasp on her bracelet done and then moved to open his own presents. It wasn’t jewelry, but Andy loved the new innerear pieces and he squealed when he opened the t-shirt.
“Sorry my gifts are kind of lame.” Luxe said and then stopped as Andy moved to take off his shirt. His pale skin was glowing in the soft light and slowly Luxe reached out to touch his chest.
“N-no…they’re perfect babe.” Andy said, sucking in a breath as her fingers moved slowly across his skin. They had kissed and made out plenty of times over the past month-infact the bands had made it a game to see where they would find the couple hidden around the busses or venues-but they hadn’t taken it any farther.
“Are you sure?” She asked as her lips grazed over the soft skin of his neck, nibbling and sucking, which was making Andy breathless.
“V-very.” He stammered and she smirked against his skin as she moved to lock her grey eyes with his own.
Andy gulped as her lips captured his and their lip rings touched as they maneuvered around one another. Andy let his hands trail down the sides of Luxe’s face, her skin soft and her hair softer as he twirled the strands around his fingers. Her chest was pressed against his own as they laid back down on the floor, Luxe hovering over him as their lips locked together and they continued in their passion.
She could feel Andy’s excitement pressing against her thigh and Luxe only smiled as she let one of her tiny hands trail down his naked chest until finally it reached his pants. The waistband of his sleep pants was easily moved aside and soon he was moaning in to her mouth as she stroked him gently.
Even though this felt amazing, for some reason it didn’t feel right to him and in between kisses Andy broke away and placed a hand against her chest. Luxe looked down at him, confusion lacing her features as his blue eyes stared in to her own. It wasn’t happening tonight…it just wasn’t the right time for them.
“Look, babe…I just don’t feel like this is the right time for us.” Andy said as he watched Luxe move from being on top of him. She looked sad and silently Luxe moved her hair to behind her ear and avoided his gaze.
“Oh. No-it’s okay…I get it.” She said, her voice quivering with tears and Andy only smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. He kissed the top of her head and held her, silently wondering what he should do to make things better.
“I just want it to be special-not in the middle of some tour and in some hotel room where we’re both just feeling lonely because it’s Christmas…I want it to mean something.” Andy said and Luxe only nodded.
He was right, but she couldn’t help but wonder if it would ever be the right time for them.
Drats-they're still keeping a distance between them...who else is frustrated?
