Love And Other Drugs

Exposed

The after party for the end of the US leg of the tour was crazy-the two bands, their managers and their crew all took vans to Crow, where they all drank way too much. Luxe was still riding her coke high and Andy had been able to get her home in one piece, even though he was pretty drunk himself.

Getting Luxe in to the van had been a task and thankfully Andy and Luxe had been dropped off on the same route as Char because the tired guitarist was able to help him with the girl. The intoxicated singer was now sitting on his couch, giggling at something on the television while Andy stood in the kitchen.

Andy was making tea, something that he hoped would calm the hyped girl down, but he wasn't too hopeful. He hadn't known at the time when he was on stage that the girls had done anything and he had thought it was pretty awesome for them to come out on stage, but then he saw Luxe, saw her hanging off of Ashley and Andy saw red.

It wasn't until later that night at Crow when he was talking to a very drunk Pixie, that Andy found out that Luxe was riding a coke high. Andy wasn't going to judge-he had done the drug a few times, but he couldn't deny that he was worried.

Luxe came from a drug addicted family-her mother had been addicted to heroin and prescription pills and her father had been a drunk. So why would she tempt herself? Andy knew that Luxe had been given Valium for her anxiety, but he also knew that she took twice the amount each day that she was supposed to.

Should he confront her about it? Let her know he was worried?

Andy didn't want to over step his bounds-he and Luxe were just starting to really get along and he was worried that if he said anything that she would hate him once again. As the teapot whistled and Andy fixed their tea, he sighed-maybe he would talk to Alex about it before the next tour.

"Hey Luce...I made you some tea." Andy said as he walked in to the room. Luxe was sitting on the couch, his Batman throw around her shoulders and she was silently sitting, staring at the television. Andy sat down beside the girl, handing her the mug and watching with wide eyes as she began to cry.

"Luce? Hey...hey what's wrong?" He asked as he set his steaming cup on to the table and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"I'm such a fuck up!" She cried, her hands shaking so much that some of the boiling tea was threatening to spill over and burn her tiny fingers. Andy quickly took the mug from her, setting it on the table beside his own before addressing the sobbing girl beside him.

"No. No you aren't a fuck up Luce." Andy said as the girl began to curl up beside him, her head coming to rest on his shoulder. Her entire face was beat red and he knew that she was coming down from her high...she was starting to realize what she had done.

"Yes I am! I should know better...I should have known not to do it..." She was crying so much that it was almost impossible for Andy to understand her. She was shaking so much and Andy couldn't think of anything to do besides to reach out and tug her small body onto his lap.

"Well this should just show you that maybe the rockstar life isn't the best thing for you." Andy said carefully. He didn't want to upset the girl further and he knew he was treading on thin ice.

Luxe wanted to scream-didn't he understand? She had to live the rockstar life...she had to fit in with the girls. She had never dealt with this much peer pressure and so Luxe had just gone with the flow because what else was she supposed to do? When she had been in high school Luxe hadn't been popular enough to get offered drugs nor would she have been invited to parties.

Now that she was a rockstar, Luxe felt the need to fit in...she had to make sure that her image was intact. Alex knew about the drugs-after all he had been the one to give her the uppers to begin with and then he had pressured the doctor in to giving Luxe a Valium prescription.

So what was she supposed to do? Leave the drugs behind and just suffer and possibly alienate herself?

Luxe couldn't do that and so she just continued to cry further. Andy was being really sweet-he had pulled her on to his lap and was rocking the both of them back and forth slowly, his fingers rubbing her temples softly. She was comforted, but nothing was going to be able to change the fact that Luxe had given in...she had given in to the same demons that had ruined her childhood and now she was scared.

What if she got addicted?

What if she couldn't stop?

Thinking that she was just going to end up like her mother, Luxe found herself crying more and more.

"Luce...baby doll...I need you to calm down." Andy was saying, his tone stern and yet kind. Luxe sniffed and moved her face to look up in to his and she couldn't help but feel her heart flutter. His blue eyes were so concerned as he looked down at her and Luxe knew then that Andy's feelings for her were genuine.

"I just...I don't know why I did that..." She said sadly and Andy felt his heart go out to this girl. She'd been put in to a position that was difficult to navigate, even for people who didn't come from a family filled with addicts.

"Because you felt the need to. Char should know better...she never should of offered that to you." Andy said, trying to defend the singer but Luxe only shook her head.

"No one forced me Andy...the girls didn't make me snort that coke." Luxe said, sighing heavily. She was tired and her arms were beginning to hurt, along with her head. She didn't like feeling like this...she didn't like being weak.

"True, but you know now that it's not a good situation to put yourself in and you can avoid it." He said and Luxe only looked up at him. Andy looked so tired, his blue eyes rimmed in light purple and his hair was tangled in places. She was going to try and get him to let Pixie cut it before their UK tour-hopefully he would go for it.

"How am I supposed to say no to them? They're my best friends..." She sounded so sad...so conflicted and Andy only smiled as he reached out and tucked a piece of hair behind her multi-pierced ear.

"We'll figure something out-you and I can go out after the shows and visit with the fans so you don't even have to been put in that situation." He suggested and Luxe only smiled.

She had never had anyone care this much for her-not even her own parents.

The two of them sat there, Andy's arms wrapped around her while she tried to calm down and come down from her high and Luxe felt a peace wash over her. It was a peace she only felt when she took three to four Valium at a time and it struck her as her eyes began to gently close. Andy's arms tightened around her and soon his lips grazed over her cheek, sending a shiver down her spine.

Was this real? Or was she just dreaming right now? Luxe had never felt this much emotion from one person before and as she turned around and locked eyes with Andy, she knew that something was beginning to develop between the two of them.

"You look tired Luce. Come on...I'll get you set up in the guest room so we can both get some sleep." Andy was smiling at her as he gently moved her to sit beside him and Luxe only nodded her head. She wanted to sleep, but right now she didn't want to be alone.

"O-okay." She said as she stood up, keeping the throw around her shoulders as Andy stood up and walked around the room, shutting off the television and some of the lights. Their barely touched tea sat on the table before them, cooling in the chilled air.

"We have to be at the airport by three tomorrow, but it's a quick plane ride." He was smiling at her over his shoulder, his black hair sticking to his cheek and Luxe only nodded. She had completely forgotten that she had agreed to go to Andy's parent's house for Thanksgiving and now she felt slightly worried. What if they hated her?

"Well here's the guest room-my room is across the hall and the bathroom is right next door-I'll see you in the morning." He said before bending down and placing a small kiss to her forehead. Luxe bit down on her lip and as he pulled away, Andy could tell that something was wrong.

"An-Andy?" She said softly and Andy only looked down at her, his tired eyes gentle as he took her in. She looked like a small child, her arms crossed over her chest as her fingers clutched at the throw around her shoulders like a mighty cape.

"Yeah?" He asked, his smile making Luxe's stomach clench.

"I-um-I don't really want to sleep alone tonight..."

"O-okay."

"C-can I sleep with you?" She asked, her grey eyes watering with tears and Andy only looked at her.

She seemed so broken and sad and he knew that she was disappointed in herself. With a gentle smile, Andy only nodded his head and placed a hand on her shoulder. The guest room was forgotten as the two entered his room, Andy flicking on the light and moving to the left side of the bed. His bed was perfectly made-just as he had left it before going on tour and the black and deep blue sheets still smelled of fresh laundry.

Andy watched as Luxe dropped the throw to the floor, along with her dress and she was soon clad only in her strapless black bra and panties. He hissed in a breath, closed his eyes and turned around.

Luxe crossed her arms over her chest as she looked towards Andy's broad back and watched in silence as he pulled his shirt up over his head and then moved to let his tight pants drop to the floor. He was now clad in only a pair of boxer briefs and as he turned around, Luxe felt herself blush.

His long straight hair covered some of his chest, but they were both more exposed in this moment than they had ever been. Andy gave her an encouraging smile as he pulled back the blankets and Luxe followed his movements until finally they were both underneath the covers.

"Well...um..." Andy was searching for the words to say and Luxe only smiled in the black air and curled on her side to face him. Andy shivered as some of her soft hair caressed his side and he only wished he could see her through the pitch.

"Good night Andy..." She said softly, her lips grazing over his collarbone as she curled up beside him, her tiny hand coming to rest on his hairless chest.

"Night Luce...sleep tight." He said, smiling as he pressed his lips to the top of her head and closed his eyes. A peace washed over the two of them as they laid there and Luxe smiled-this felt perfect.

"Andy?" She called out in to the night and Andy, already half asleep, only 'hmmed' in response.

"Thank you...for everything." Her voice was so tiny and so sleepy sounding that it made Andy feel warm all over.

"No problem Luce...anything for you." He said as he pulled her closer, her small body laying nearly on top of his own.

The two of them laid like that, drifting in and out of sleep until finally they both succumbed. It was strange to lay in bed like this together-friends and yet they both wanted so much more. Maybe there would be more for the couple, but only time and patience would tell and they still had four months to get through without killing one another.

Only time would tell...

Notes

So things with Luxe and the other girls are getting kind of crazy. But they are rockstars and love to party...hopefully they don't ruin everything.

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
