Love And Other Drugs

The Best Days Always End In Thunder Storms

Laughter filled the bus and to anyone who didn't know better the two people sitting together on the couch, giggling and tickling one another looked like any other normal couple. The thing is-Luxe and Andy just aren't normal. Close friends who have to pretend to deeply care for one another and at the moment the two of them were having a pretty good time.

Luxe had gotten over her sickness-for the most part-and the tour had resumed as the bus sped down 95 towards Florida. They were playing in Orlando the next day and the two were hoping to have some down time so that they could go to a local amusement park that Luxe had always wanted to visit-The Magic Kingdom.

"So do you think your keeper will let you have the day?" Andy asked as he looked beside him and smiled. Luxe had stayed on the bus last night-sleeping in her own bunk but the two of them had been up until early in the morning, talking. Now they were hoping to have the day together, so that they could relax and just have some fun.

"I dunno-let me call him and ask." Luxe said as she pulled her phone out of her back pocket and noticed that Andy was watching her every move. Their relationship was strange-they had hated one another with a passion and now they were becoming friends, but there was something more...something that neither one of them wanted to discuss at the moment.

"I think it's ridiculous that you have to ask permission...you're fucking 20 years old Luce..." Andy grumbled as he crossed his arms over his chest and watched her. She looked rested-the few days off and the medication had done Luxe some good and Andy was happy that she was finally taking care of herself.

"Hey Alex..." Luxe said, sticking out her tongue and Andy only smirked at her-that lop sided grin that made her stomach flip and flop.

"Yeah, yeah we're doing okay. Yes, yes I'm taking my medication. Look, Andy I were thinking that since we're almost to Orlando and we have today free-An interview? Oh. Oh I didn't know that. Okay, yeah I'll start getting ready. Thanks Alex." The conversation was irritatingly one sided and Andy sighed as Luxe finished up, ended her call and just looked over at him. Her grey eyes held a look of frustration and Andy only groaned.

"I have an interview once we get to the venue." Luxe said as she looked towards Andy. He had a gleam in his blue eyes, something that told her he was up to something and Luxe only stared at him.

"I think you can miss out on this one." Andy said, smirking at her as he stood up just as the bus came to a stop at a rest stop to gas up.

Luxe watched as Andy disappeared towards the back and then reappeared with Ashley in tow, both guys were smirking. Luxe had a feeling that Andy had something planned and she watched in silence as Andy pulled out his phone, made a call and called for a taxi and then made another call to what sounded like either Pixie or Lulu.

Before she knew it Andy was coming towards her, his smile wide and his eyes bright as he reached down, pulled her up by her hands and looked her over. She was in a pair of shorts-it was warmer down in the South, a tight red shirt with a lacey detail and her doc marten boots.

Passable.

"What are you doing Andy?" Luxe asked as he kept one of her hands in his and began to playfully drag her towards the open bus door. Most of the guys had gotten off to go inside and stock up, but Ashley had remained on the bus and was just smirking at the two of them.

"We are going to have some fun and Ashley and Pixie are going to do your interview." Andy said as they reached the door. He sounded proud of himself and right before she got off the bus, Luxe looked over her shoulder and gave Ashley a nod, thanking him silently.

"I am going to get in so much trouble for this!" Luxe cried out and Andy only laughed as he pulled her towards the now waiting cab and the two of them hopped inside.

"So?! Sometimes you just have to live a little Luce...especially now that you're friends with me." He winked one gorgeous blue eye at her then and Luxe only smiled and looked out the window.

Downtown Orlando passed through her windows and Luxe focused on that instead of the buzzing phone in her pocket. She knew who it was-Alex. It was funny because Luxe's phone would buzz and then stop, but then Andy's would start up. She quickly texted Char so that the guitarist wouldn't worry and Luxe laughed as her best friend texted back, telling her to have an awesome day and they would see her later that night. After about twenty minutes on the road, finally the gates for the park came in to view and Luxe felt her breath still in her chest.

This had been one of the places she had always wanted to go before she died-she had grown up loving Disney movies and Luxe had always loved Cinderella. In some ways she had always felt like Cinderella herself-raising herself, cleaning up the trailer the best she could and then she would get nothing out of it.

Andy squeezed her hand as the taxi came to a stop outside of the Transportation building and he smiled-this had been a good idea. He had known how much Luxe wanted to come here, but he also knew that Alex would never let his prized singer out of his sight.

Too bad.

The two of them exited the car, Andy passing the driver money and a generous tip before taking Luxe's hand. The two of them walked, their sunglasses pulled low over their eyes and Andy could tell that Luxe was excited. She was bouncing as they walked, chittering and giggling to him as they bought their tickets and then boarded the ferry. Standing on the bow of that huge boat, Andy stood behind Luxe and she let her head come back to rest against his chest-the day was going to be a good one.

Finally the boat docked, the seagulls overhead called out to them and Andy reached for Luxe's small hand as they exited off the boat and looked around. It was strange doing something like this-it wasn't how Andy spent his days usually, but something in Luxe's eyes told him she needed the day.

The entire time that Luxe had been holed up in her hotel room, Andy had watched Alex enter and exit almost every two hours. She was his prized horse-without Luxe there was no Hollywood Dolls and Andy knew that in a way Black Veil Brides was the same way with him.

They were more alike than they thought they were and as the two of them entered the park and Andy smirked when he saw the wide smile on her lips, he couldn't help but feel his heart flutter.
She dragged him around all day-they hit up the first area that came to them, an area that was covered in palm trees and wooden planked walkways.

A ride filled with pirates, followed by a cruise through the jungle and Andy was cringing in all the cheesiness. But this was Luxe's day and he couldn't help but be happy that he had been able to do this for her. A water ride filled with cartoon animals and then a wild train ride around the west and Andy was ready for a break. They walked hand in hand down the street, people looking at them as they passed and Andy only laughed.

His hair was long-longer than Luxe's and they both had their hair teased slightly so that the back of it was sticking up. Andy was used to people staring at him-he had been stared at since he was thirteen years old, but he could tell that Luxe was slightly bothered by it. There was moment where she smiled at a small girl and then the girl cried and hid behind her mother.

Andy could see the sad look on Luxe's face and he knew from their previous conversations that this was not how she had wanted her life to go. Luxe was okay with the way she looked, but it wasn't her and Andy felt bad.

"You could go back you know." Andy said as they walked towards the front of the park. Their day was done, the night was coming and Luxe knew that it was time for her to go back to her life.

"What do you mean?" She asked him, her face slightly pink from the sun and there were a few new freckles that were appearing on her cheeks.

"You could cut your hair, dye it back to blonde...be the Lucinda that you were before all of this." He said and Luxe only smiled at him. Andy had been really good to her today and now he was making her feel better. Somehow he was always able to see through her facade and while other people couldn't know the real Lucinda-Andy refused to see her as anything else.

"I don't think Alex has any intentions of letting Luxe go anytime soon." She giggled as they got on the boat and Andy only looked at her. It was sad to see someone who so desperately wanted to be themselves and yet they couldn't because they had signed their life away.

"Well I can always persuade him." He laughed and Luxe only smiled, shaking her head. The boat ride went by quick enough and the two of them were joking as they got off, but as they hit the parking lot and looked around for the taxi Andy had called, Luxe felt her stomach drop.

Two huge busses were sitting at the front of the lot, the sun shining off of their gleaming surfaces and Luxe wanted to run. Today had been perfect and she hadn't wanted it to end, but it would and now it was as Alex appeared, along with Jon, the guys and the girls. Luxe held on to Andy's hand and he squeezed it in a reassuring way, but they both knew they were fucked.

Alex approached the two of them and Luxe only looked past her manager and caught eyes with Pixie. The small girl was crying and Lulu was trying to comfort her to no avail. Finally Alex reached the couple, taking in their burnt faces and Luxe's Mickey Ears that were perched on top of her blonde head.

"What. The. Fuck. Is wrong with the two of you?" Alex said as he looked at Luxe first and then let his eyes fall on Andy. The singer didn't look sorry at all-infact he looked like he wanted to punch something.

"Alex I-"

"Don't. Get on the bus." Alex said, cutting his singer off and the couple walked towards the Dolls bus with Alex following closely behind them. He should have known that Andy was going to be trouble-the singer was too wild for his Luxe.

"Look Alex it was my idea..." Andy said as they all got on the bus-even the BVB guys were on the Dolls bus and there was an uncomfortable silence hanging in the air.

"Shut. Up. I will say this once-Luxe, you are responsible for your actions and you had something planned for today. Thankfully Pixie and Ashley were around, otherwise things would have turned out a lot worse than they have already. You will never, ever, disappear like that again. Understand me?" His ton was guarded, but Alex's eyes bored in to her own as Luxe looked up at him and nodded.

"Alex, look man." Andy said but then stopped as Jon shook his head at the singer. They were in trouble-Luxe more than him and Andy speaking up was only going to make things worse.

"Now-we are going to head over to the venue where we will park and stay until the following day. Everyone is to stay in tonight-everyone." Alex gave a pointed look towards Char, Mads and Ashley and all three of them groaned. Slowly Luxe and Andy walked towards the door, but stopped as Alex called out to them.

"Luxe-you will stay on this bus for tonight. I think you and Andy need to have some time apart." Alex said and Luxe only nodded her head, dropping Andy's hand as she walked over towards the couch and took a seat. Andy clenched his fists as he looked at Luxe, disappointment in his eyes, but that quickly turned to hate as he looked at the music manager.

Andy knew that one day Alex McFadden would regret the way he treated these girls and Andy only hoped he would be there to see it.

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you
