Love And Other Drugs

Slimed

Luxe was standing in front of a door, her grey eyes that were lined in black and purple for the evening staring straight ahead and she counted the wood grain to keep calm. She was standing in her condo, staring at her own door because she knew who was waiting on the other side of it and she wasn't happy. Tonight was the night and while Alex was all excited for this date to happen-he even sent over a hair stylist, makeup artist and a new dress and shoes-both Luxe and Andy were dreading it. Luxe had gone to practice earlier in the day, rushing down the hallway to avoid an awkward meeting with Andy and at practice the girls had all been distracted.

Their album had climbed all the way to number ten and then stayed there, but it was still a victory in their book. While they practiced, Alex watched over them from a booth nearby and would pop in every once and a while to make suggestions. Char shouldn't hold her guitar so tightly, Mads needed to hit the cymbals more heavily, Pixie needed to stop smiling so much and Lulu needed to smirk just a little bit more. As for Luxe-she had been deemed a disaster and Alex spent almost an hour berating her and telling her what she was doing wrong, how to fix it and what videos she should watch over the next week to see some examples.

She had come home after that, completely depressed and defeated and all she wanted to do was to crawl in bed and watch old Animated Batman and X-Men reruns. But then there had been a knock at her door, a phone call from Alex and Luxe was forced out of bed-where she had been hiding-and was now sitting in her kitchen with one girl behind her screwing around with her hair and the other girl was plastering makeup on her face. Luxe had grabbed her laptop-another present from Alex-and had taken his suggestion and began to look up those videos. Her anger only grew as she watched video after video and began to see a pattern.

They were all of Andy and the rest of BVB on stage at previous shows and Luxe knew in that moment that she was only ever going to be seen as the female equivalent to Andy Six. As if she couldn't have reason to hate him more, Alex had given it to her in spades. She watched, at some points with one eye open as her eye makeup was being applied, as Andy played it up to the crowd, but then there were certain points where he would get in to shouting matches with haters. Luxe kind of thought it was hilarious to watch this skinny kid in tight leather pants, scream and yell at grown men about kicking their asses and what not, but also it was annoying.

Luxe had shut it off, set her laptop on the kitchen counter and tried to think of ways to get herself out of this dinner tonight. Looking at the clock she could see that it was almost 6:30 and she was supposed to meet Andy at 7-fuck. Quickly her hair and makeup were finished and Luxe was told that her clothes were laying on her bed and her accessories were on her dresser. Walking in to her room, Luxe couldn't help but smile as she saw the dress laying on her bed-no denying it was beautiful. It was a long dress in the back, but rather short in the front and it had no sleeves, but there was a fitted leather and studded jacket beside it on the bed. It was lilac in color, except for the black lace that covered the bodice in a gorgeous pattern.

Luxe was now dressed, her many rings on her fingers, her leather jacket over her small frame and her feet were already aching in her six inch heels that would give her enough height to almost be as tall as Andy. Now she just needed to open the door, but no matter how many times her brain told her arm to move her hand so that her hand could move her fingers and the door would open-nothing happened. She almost jumped out of her skin as there was a rather loud knock on the door and Luxe knew Andy was standing on the other side waiting for her.

Taking in a deep breath, Luxe pulled open the door and felt her heart quicken in her chest. Andy was on the other side and while she was trying really hard to hate him, she couldn't deny that he looked really good looking in his suit jacket, with untucked white shirt and skinny black tie. His pants had no holes and his long black hair was straight, down around his shoulders and hadn't been teased to death. His blue eyes in all of their meltability were not covered in makeup and his lips held an easy smile on them.

"You ready to go?" He asked her with as much enthusiasm as he could muster and there came her hatred. If he would only keep his mouth shut, then Luxe could probably enjoy herself, but it was always when he spoke that she just hated everything about him.

"Don't sound so happy to see me Six..." Luxe muttered as she locked her door behind her and took off for the elevators. She just wanted to get this night over with so that they didn't have to see or speak to one another unless they were on stage.

"Biersack..." He said behind her as they both entered the elevator and Luxe turned around to give him a look. Was that supposed to mean something to her?

"What?" She asked, annoyed and Andy only chuckled as he leaned across her and pressed the button for the lobby. He smelled good-like peppermint and Luxe bit down on her pierced lip and closed her eyes. You hate him-remember that.

"Biersack-it's my last name. I don't really like going by Andy Six anymore..." He clarified for her and Andy only smirked as she rolled her eyes and they both grew silent.

The elevator ride down was quiet-Andy hummed softly to himself and tried to keep his hands in his pockets. Luxe was standing in front of him and he was dying to reach out and touch her-just once-to see what it would feel like. He didn't like her-the small girl was stuck up, spoiled and impossible, but Andy couldn't deny that there was an attraction there. She looked amazing tonight-like a dream-but honestly he had preferred her this morning in just a t-shirt, her underwear and those knee socks she seemed to like. Finally the elevator came to a stop and as the doors opened Andy and Luxe both noticed something that made them groan out loud.

There were four men with digital cameras standing outside of their condo and they were shouting loudly at the couple. Instinctively Andy placed a hand against her back, leading her out of the door and down the street where Andy knew Alex would have a car waiting for them.

Where did these guys come from? How had they known to be here and when? Andy growled at one of them as they pushed and shoved one another to get their shot and thankfully the driver of the black SUV was quick with opening the doors and Andy was able to help Luxe in to her side before getting in to his own. He didn't have many encounters with the paps, but Andy knew enough about them to know that they were annoying and never showed up somewhere without a tip.

"You okay? You're shaking." Andy asked as he looked towards Luxe. She was smirking, shaking her head and then she sighed.

"Yeah, yeah I'll be okay." She said as the car finally began to move and they lapsed into an uncomfortable silence for a while.

"You seem fairly used to that." Andy remarked after ten minutes of silence and Luxe only replied without looking in his direction.

"I always have cameras in my face-either professional ones or creeps like that. Alex says it's just because we've gotten so big so fast." She said as she finally turned her grey eyes on him and Andy smiled softly. She looked really pretty sitting there with the sun fading over the horizon right behind her head.

"Yeah, we don't get a lot of paps, but I think it's because they're afraid of us." They both chuckled at this and then grew silent once more.

The car slowed down outside of a large building and Luxe realized that they had finally made it to their destination. The driver opened her door first and then Andy hopped out and again pressed a hand to her back to lead her inside. What was she stupid? She knew how to walk and as soon as the paps were out of view, Luxe shrugged away from his touch and addressed the hostess. Their table was ready-they were in the larger dining room and their meal had already been paid for, so they were welcome to get anything they liked off of the menu.

Andy followed behind Luxe, keeping his hands to himself this time and he couldn't help but notice how she walked with her shoulders back and head held high. Like she owned the place. God if she was going to be this stuck up the entire night then he was going to shovel as much food in to his mouth as possible so that they could end this nightmare and go their separate ways. Andy pulled out Luxe's chair for her and then took his own. Both of them ordered water and then disappeared behind their menus. Flashbulbs were still going off, even as they finally ordered their food and even more so when they looked at one another and laughed softly.

"This is ridiculous." Andy stated as he sipped his water and looked across the table at the girl before him. Her cheeks were flushed and every time a flash went off he noticed that her eyes became sad for a moment.

"I know-I dunno why Alex was so in to us getting together like this." Luxe said and then they both got silent as their food was delivered.

"He seems kind of obsessed with you and the other girls." Andy stated as he cut in to his steak and watched Luxe take a bite of her pasta. She made this little 'mmm' sound as she savored the flavor and then looked at him before speaking.

"He just wants us to do well." Luxe said, her voice slightly defensive and Andy only smirked-he had obviously hit a sore spot.

"He wants all of the money back that he invested in to you girls." Luxe almost choked on her pasta and then glared at Andy. He was making it seem like she was some cashcow-some stupid girl to be taken advantage of.

"He has his moments-like tonight for example-but Alex isn't a terrible guy."

"Okay-now tell me that like you really believe it." Andy was smirking at her, that stupid grin on his face and she just wanted to make it go away.

"Look, I get it-you and the guys have had a rough time of it and that sucks, but the Dolls and I are fine. Number ten on the charts..." Her tone was so snooty and Andy just rolled his eyes and finished his steak. There would be no dessert and he only wanted Luxe to finish her meal so that they could leave.

"Do you always have to sound so stuck up when you speak, or is that just something you save for me and only me?" He asked and Luxe flared her nostrils as she looked down at her plate of half eaten pasta. She could take this home-doggy bag it and then this weird and irritating night would be over with.

"I'm sorry. I forgot I was sitting with Mr. Personality himself-how many people have you pissed off today Andy? Met your quota yet?" Her tone was snarky and Andy only sighed as he leaned over the table and smirked at her.

"Just you. In fact Little Princess, I think I'll enjoy this coming tour...I'm going to piss you off every single day and then laugh as I watch you get more and more angry."

"Oh yeah...well you know what Andy..." She was smiling at him sweetly and Andy only sighed, his breath tickling her skin as it ran over her face softly.

"What?"

"Fuck. You." She said through gritted teeth and did something that he never thought she would do. Her half eaten pasta was now on his head, the noodles dribbling down his cheeks and hanging off of his nose.

Luxe had gotten up and as Andy sat at the table and tried to clean himself off, he could see that she had disappeared down the street and he hoped he would never have to see her again.

His hopes would be dashed in a week as they set off for their tour of Hell.

Notes

Not a slap, but still pretty hilarious. Why is it that Alex wants Andy and Luxe to get along so well?

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you
