Love And Other Drugs

Embrace

"Friday night boys and the PBR. Chasing Jack, getting wrecked-in small town bars. You're a big city roller-in N-Y-C. A sharp dressed man-just like ZZ." Luxe sang out loud, nodding her head to the rift that was coming from Char's guitar.

The girls had finally entered the studio and were working on demo tracks for their coming album. Alex had wanted to wait a bit to get the girls all together-he claimed it was because they needed a break-but the girls were insistent. So they pulled their producer-Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame-in to the studio early and got to work. The girls had originally thought they were going to work with John Feldmann, who had done BVB's third album, but he had been booked with Sleeping With Sirens for the summer.

That was okay as it seemed like Jimmy had a more classical rock sound to him, while John was more about lyric content and noises added in after production. Currently Jimmy was sitting in a high backed leather chair at the sound board, nodding his head as the girls continued to work things through. It was their first day back in the studio and they hadn't realized how much they had missed it. Sitting around for hours, brainstorming and playing around, then sending an assistant out to get them lunch from the nearest food truck-it had always been a fun time.

"Luxe, love, try that chorus again, from the top." Jimmy said in his smooth British accent and Luxe only smiled, nodding her head as she started over.

"American boys. Gotta love em, gotta need em. Gotta want em. They're my drug of choice-yeah, yeah, yeah! American boys. Wanna slay em, wanna lay em. Wanna play em. They're my favorite toys. American, American boys." Luxe sang her heart out, smiling as she trailed off and looked towards Jimmy for approval.

"Lovely. I really like where this tune is going girls. Reminds me of my younger days. Char, after lunch, why don't we work on some of your solos for this particular song? Shall we break for now?" Jimmy asked and all of the girls only nodded-they were all starving.

Luxe closed her notebook, placing it on the floor beside where she was seated and looked around at all of the other girls. They were all in very relaxed states of dress-sweats and old tour t-shirts-but it was nice seeing everyone having a good time. They were determined that on this record they would bond over things, get closer as a band and get back to the days where they didn't keep things from one another.

Currently the girls were all discussing lunch options-Mexican or Thai-and Luxe only smirked and shrugged when they asked her what she wanted.

Luxe was just happy to be back and it made her heart flutter to think that she and the girls could really be on their way to getting back to their roots.

"Things are really starting to sound good." Someone said from above her and Luxe jumped as she looked up from her hands and saw that Char was standing there.

"Yeah, I'm really excited to get this record going. This could be our best work yet Char." Luxe said as she stood up and stretched her arms over her head. Her shirt rose slightly, exposing her creamy white stomach that was patterned with random tattoos.

"I know, I am worried though because it is such a different sound from our first record." The guitarist admitted and Luxe knew what she was talking about. All Dolled Up had been a darker record, while this new one was a little more on the classic rock/heavy rock sound. It didn't matter though-Luxe knew their fans would love it.

"It is, but sometimes you have to take risks and try new things. If we made the same record every single time then our fans would get bored." Luxe explained as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked around. Jimmy had gone out back, Pixie and Lulu were still talking about lunch and Mads was on the phone to her drum tech.

"True. So have you heard from Andy at all?" Char asked and Luxe sighed. Andy had been MIA for a few days because the boys were finishing up their tour in Asia, but Luxe knew that he could still shoot her a text every so often.

"Not for a couple of days. He and the guys are coming home in the next few days-we'll see what happens." Luxe said and Char only laughed. Andy was a good guy, but he tended to get distracted when he was on tour and that left Luxe in the dark.

"You guys are so cute though-I'm seeing babies in the near future." Char giggled and Luxe only tried to smile. She loved Andy and Luxe knew he was up for any kind of adventure, but he didn't seem interested in that sort of adventure.

"Doubt it." Luxe said quickly and Char only raised an eyebrow at the singer.

"Oh come on-don't tell me that you haven't imagined a small child with your smile and those light blue eyes of his." Char teased and Luxe tried to hold back her tears.

"I have, but Andy hasn't and I don't know if he ever really will think about us in that way." She admit and Char only huffed. Leave it up to Andy to be selfish and hold back on something that meant a lot to someone he claimed to love.

"Well that's bullshit. I'm gonna go down and catch up with the girls-you want me to bring you anything back?" Char asked as she grabbed her coat off the rack by the door and began slipping her arms through. The girls were going to get their own food it seemed, but Luxe just wanted a few moments alone.

"Sure-you know what I like." Luxe smiled as she took a seat on the long leather couch and watched as Char only winked at her and left the room.

Luxe pulled her knees up to her chest, letting her head fall back against the couch as she sat there with her eyes closed. She hated thinking about Andy and the future-it made her sad, depressed and it made her want to use. Was there a future for she and Andy? Could Luxe just give up everything to be a mom and follow Andy around the world? She loved him and it wouldn't be a terrible life, but it would be a slightly wasted life and Luxe didn't want that.

As she sat there, Luxe could hear someone walking down the hallway towards the studio, but she kept her eyes closed. It was probably Jimmy coming back to get started again, but Luxe still wanted a few minutes alone. She stayed put, listening as the walking slowed and then there was a soft creaking noise as the door was pushed open. Luxe listened and expected the squeaking of Jimmy's chair to prove to her that it was their producer.

Luxe felt the couch cushion beside her shift slightly-someone had taken a seat beside her. She knew it wasn't the girls as it was never that quick for them to pick up food. She knew it wasn't Jimmy because he would of announced his arrival in to the room. So who was it? Slowly Luxe opened her eyes, her heart stopping as her grey orbs connected with the light blue ones that were staring her down. A lopsided grin was all that she saw before those perfect lips were connecting with hers in the sweetest kiss she had ever experienced.

"Did you miss me Luce?" Andy asked as his fingers ran over her cheeks, his thumbs wiping away the tears that were covering her skin.

"You have no idea." Luxe whispered, closing her eyes to try and stop the flow of sadness down her cheeks. She had felt forgotten about these past few days and while she wanted to confront Andy about it, she also wanted to stay in this moment forever.

"Yeah, I do know. I've missed you so much Luce it almost killed me being away from you." Andy said and before she could answer him, Luxe felt the breath leave her chest once his lips captured her own once again.

Andy wove his large hand through her hair, feeling the soft strands caress his skin as their lips molded against one another. His body ached for her, his heart had been desperate for her love and now here she was before him and Andy didn't know what to do with himself. They stayed locked in their embrace for as long as possible, both of them happy to be with one another once again and glad to know that this coming summer would be just for them.

@Giacobra

I'm so glad you found this little gem. Sadly this was my last full story, but I do have a few other serial stories on this site which are different from this one, but just as well written. You can find all of them in my profile<3

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you

I'm pretty sure I've done nothing but cry while reading these last few chapters. You do a wonderful job getting the reader emotionally involved in this story, and I'm really glad that I was able to read this wonderfully written piece. Thank you for all of the time and hard work that went into this story. It is definitely one of the best that I have read in a really long time.
