Love And Other Drugs

An End To The Waiting Game

"We love you Luxe!" A few girls shouted from the end of the alley and Luxe only smiled, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear as she walked towards them.

The show was over and while Luxe was exhausted and ready to get on the bus where Andy was waiting for her, she knew she needed to say hello to the few fans waiting for her. Dressed in a baggy sweater, a comfy pair of skinny jeans and her AFI shirt, Luxe approached her fans with a huge smile on her face. These people were the reason that she was able to do what she was doing-they bought the albums, the merch and came to the shows.

Luxe's fans were everything to her.

"How's it going guys?" Luxe asked as she took the first CD being passed to her and quickly opened it to sign her name on the booklet. The girl nearly fainted as Luxe handed it back to her with a smile and Luxe only smiled more.

"Great! Where's Char?" One girl asked.

"Is Pixie coming out soon?" Another chirped.

"I thought I saw Lulu come out right before you. Mads was with her..." A small girl said from her right and Luxe only smiled. All of her bandmates were very loved by their fans, something that not all bands could say.

"They're coming-I was just heading to the bus..."

"...to see Andy! God you guys are, like, the perfect couple!" One girl giggled and Luxe only smiled, a blush creeping across her skin.

She posed for the girl's cameras, smiling and posing with her hands formed in to horns or sticking her tongue out playfully. The fans loved it-they loved her and Luxe knew that all of this could be taken from her any moment. Andy surprising her tonight had been amazing, but nothing compared to standing out in a dark and cold alley with her fans. These girls had waited two hours after the show, just to see a glimpse of their idols and Luxe was more than grateful for their devotion.

Bidding the fans goodbye and pulling her sweater around her shoulders more, Luxe turned and began to walk back down the alley towards the bus. It was cold, then again they were in Michigan and it was almost Christmas-she was shocked that there wasn't snow on the ground.

Luxe reached out a hand, tugging on the handle to the bus door and sighing happily as it swung open and her cheeks were bathed in the warm air flowing down the steps. The bus was near silent and Luxe could just barely make out the sound of the television from the back lounge, which was probably where Andy was.

He had stood on the side of the stage as the girls finished up and then Luxe had run towards him, tossing her arms around his neck and not letting go until it had been time for her to go on stage with Alex. As she sang her part, sitting on the edge of the stage like she did every night, Luxe couldn't help but look over towards Andy. His light blue eyes were filled with happiness as he looked at her and the couple knew that this was the reunion they had been hoping for.

Soon enough the couple parted, Andy telling her that he was going to head to the bus to unpack and Luxe reluctantly let him go, knowing that she needed to pack up her things and hang out for a bit. She had managed to snag a shower at this venue, something that was rare, but it happened and Luxe laughed as she realized that she was taking extra care just because Andy was waiting for her.

Char had pulled her aside, hugging the singer and telling her that she could see that Luxe was in desperate need of Andy being around.

Walking through the bus, Luxe was impressed by how well the girls had been able to keep things clean. There again they were only three weeks in to the tour, but this time around the floor wasn't completely littered with beer or booze bottles. To try and stay sober this time, the girls had all agreed that there would be no drinking on the bus.

They could drink as much as they wanted at the venues, but once the bus left and headed to the next town, the drinking had to stop. It had kept things under control, but Luxe knew it was only a matter of time.

"Andy?" Luxe called out towards the back of the bus. She passed the small kitchen, smiling as she noticed Andy's laptop sitting on the counter top with the Batman symbol shining up at her like a beacon. She had missed him so much and now-he was here.

"Back in the lounge!" A male voice called to her and Luxe's heart skipped a beat. She had dreamt of that deep voice every night for months and now...the person that voice belonged to was sitting right in front of her.

There, sitting cross legged on the couch, was Andy all snuggled up in a deep blue sweater with his boots sitting on the floor. He had a throw over his lap and a small bowl of chips on the leather couch beside him. His blue eyes were tired-he had only been home a week before deciding to organize a surprise trip out to see Luxe. A movie was playing on the television-Seven-and Luxe only shook her head as she slipped her own shoes off and slowly walked towards the long 'L' shaped couch.

Afraid that if she moved too quickly that Andy would vanish, Luxe slowly took a seat beside the man of her dreams and just looked at him. His now black hair was growing once again, after all of the damage that it had experienced with the last time he tried to grow it out and his blue eyes were only lightly lined in black.

The Andy Sixx of three years ago had vanished, being replaced by The Prophet and now a new person who was going to debut soon enough-Andy Black.

Luxe knew about Andy's side project and while she was proud of him, she also couldn't help but be honest about her feelings. It was very different from what BVB sounded and looked like and Luxe wasn't sure how his fans were going to react. Any time an artist spoke about side projects, fans tended to feel betrayed and would worry about the band breaking up. They still had some time before his video and single for Andy Black came out, so there was no point in bringing it up now.

"You can touch me Luce...I promise I won't disappear." He laughed, holding out his tattooed arms towards her. Luxe felt the tears ripple over her cheeks as she collapsed against his chest and just stayed there. He smelled like cigarettes, his cologne and mint-Andy smelled like Heaven.

"I don't know...every time I touch you in my dreams you seem to vanish." She said as her head rested in his lap and Andy only smiled as he placed a hand against her head and tangled his fingers in her long deep blonde hair.

"I promise-you're not getting rid of me that easily." He said, closing his blue eyes to the world as Andy leaned his head back and just sat still. He hadn't felt this relaxed since before leaving for tour-his entire body a ball of nerves with worry about how Luxe was doing.

"I've missed you so much Andy...it's just been so hard without you." She said, her tone watery with her tears and Andy opened his eyes, his own tears threatening to spill down his pale cheeks. He leaned down, pressing his lips against the side of her face and kissing her cool skin softly. This felt so good-it felt like he was finally where he belonged.

"I know-three months away from you was way too long babe, but I'm really proud of you..." Andy said and suddenly Luxe was sitting up and looking at him. God he had missed those grey eyes-every time he looked in to them Andy felt like they were seeing deep in to his soul.

"Thanks. I just want you to know though-that shot on stage wasn't really whiskey...I promise." She said and her tone sounded so terrified. Andy looked down at their clasped hands-he had been wondering about that but didn't want to make her think he didn't trust her.

" What was it?" Andy asked, trying to keep his tone level. He had panicked when he saw that tray go out on to the stage from his hiding spot and Andy couldn't deny that anger filled his gut when he watched Luxe take that shot.

"A disgusting mix of apple juice and Coke. Something Alex and I agreed on when the idea of us taking shots on stage came up." Luxe explained, looking down at their hands. Andy's long fingers were covered in rings, silver skulls staring up at her with their blank eyes. She heard the judgment in his voice and couldn't bear to see it in his eyes.

"The other's?" Was all he asked and finally Luxe looked up at him. He could see the shame in those grey eyes and that was all the answer that Andy needed.

"It's real. The girls have been jumping on and off the wagon for the past few weeks, but we've all agreed to no booze on the bus, so that's been helping." Luxe said and then yelped as Andy dropped her hand like it had burned him and ran his hands through his hair.

"It's only a matter of time Luce..." Andy said through gritted teeth. He wanted to jump up, pick Luxe up in to his arms and carry her away from all of this, but there was no point. The addiction was going to follow the love of his life until she died.

"Andy...please look at me." Luxe said softly and Andy squeezed his eyes shut before popping them open to stare right in to her grey eyes. He instantly felt calm, but the fear still lined his gut like an acid.

"I am not going to join in their self destructive behavior. Do you know why?" She asked him and Andy only shook his head. He would never understand what it was like being an addict and he knew that that would keep him from truly understanding Luxe completely.

"Because I love you Andy Biersack and I know that if I fall off this wagon that you won't be there to catch me. You mean the world to me and I would never do anything to push you away from me." Luxe said as she placed her hands on either side of his face. Her lips pressed against his softly and he sighed as she moved away from him and smiled.

"Really?" Andy asked as he looked deep in to her eyes. Before her pupils had always been pins-Luxe had always been high in his memory, but now looking at her, Andy saw a new Luxe. A healthy and happy woman who wanted and knew that she needed to stay sober.

"Really. I love you-more than anything-and do you really think I would fuck that up?" Luxe asked and then she smiled as Andy looked at her, that lopsided smirk gracing his lips.

"No, no I don't think you would..." Andy said and then they embraced in the only way they knew how.

His lips captured her's sweetly and Luxe felt one of Andy's arms snake around her back, pulling her towards him tightly. Andy held her there, kissing every inch of her face until his lips locked on hers once more. They stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity and it wasn't until Pixie popped her head in to the back lounge and broke up the reunion did they part.

Luxe rested her head against Andy's shoulder as he spoke to Pixie, catching up while Luxe just enjoyed being in the arms of the one person in her life who would do anything to protect her.

Finally the world seemed to melt away from them and Luxe and Andy were left to themselves in that back lounge. It would be a long night filled with a sweet reunion that had been three months in the making and as Luxe sat on the couch with Andy's hands roaming all over her body, she knew that the wait had been worth it.

Andy was always worth the wait.

So I can honestly say I didn't discover this story until recently. When I first started reading it I knew it would be one of my favorites from this site. I saw the sad ending coming but dear god I was still not prepared in any way. You wrote everything so genuinely and in a way that showed an amazing range of real and raw emotions. I may or may not have been crying profusely through the last chapters. This was a beautiful, bittersweet, and amazing story and I look forward to anything else you may ever decide to write. Thank you
