We Can Make Something Beautiful

Never Back Down

Andy had rented a black mustang to take us to our picnic destination. It was at, how convenient, a park, filled with green grass and a playground. A red and white picnic blanket had been set out with daisies and a little note, hidden in one if the daisies.

“Didn’t think I would see this, did you?” I said, picking up the paper and unfolding it.

I sat down and read the black ink.

Destiny.

Here are some beautiful flowers that envy your appearance.
They don’t really capture your beauty, but I thought they’d be nice.
Thanks for believing in me.

~Andy

“Andy that’s adorable,” I said, folding the note and putting it on the blanket. I pat a spot next to me, motioning for Andy to sit next to me, and he set the basket down and did as he was told. I re-opened the note and smiled at his neat handwriting, and then I noticed something.

To the left of his name, there was, what looked like, a little black heart, just begging not to be noticed. I brought the paper closer to my face so I could see if my eyes were tricking me, but there it was, plain as day. A heart, colored in with the black ink he used to write the note.

“Andy?”

“Hm?” He was taking the sandwiches out of the basket and he noticed that I was holding the paper. He put the sandwiches down on the blanket and he smiled when he saw me pointing to the tiny heart.

“What is this?”

“I drew a heart. Is that a crime?” he asked, and he added his signature smirk. He continued unpacking our lunch and I smiled at the white daisies sitting in the middle of the blanket. They were really pretty, it looked like they were out of a children’s story book. Andy tapped my shoulder, bringing me away from my thoughts and I absentmindedly stared into his eyes and he laughed.

“Are you okay?” He handed me a sandwich, a soda and some chips, and I gladly took them, realizing how hungry I was. And then, all of a sudden-

“Do you think we’re moving too fast?” I blurted out. Andy stopped what he was doing and he looked at me, dropping his chips.

“What?”

“I mean, for God’s sake, you’ve only known me three days and we’re already having a date. For all you know, I could be an escaped mental hospital patient.”

“Well, are you?” he asked, his hair hanging in front of his face.

“No-“

“Then that doesn’t matter to me. I really like you. And I feel like I should show you that. I’ve never done this before, not even with Scout, and to me, you’re a really special person. I knew that from the moment I first saw you. I’ve been happier in the past three days than I have in the past three months.”

“But Andy-“

“But, nothing, Des. I’ll do anything it takes to make you realize that you’re special to me. That you mean something to me. You changed my life, and I know you will even more in the future.” He smiled and picked up his lunch once again and he began eating. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 12:45. We had an hour and 15 minutes to do whatever we wanted. And knowing Andy, he probably had some really good seats to the game.

“Des, you okay?”

“Yeah.” I smiled and un-wrapped my sandwich, taking a big bite. Damn, he makes good sandwiches. I swiped a few stray hairs from my face and I continued eating, obeying my gurgling stomach.

“I just can’t believe that I actually mean something to THE Andrew Biersack. I mean, I’ve been dreaming of meeting you and telling you how much you mean to me, that you’ve saved my life, that you’ve killed all the bad dreams I’ve ever had, that your lyrics brought me out of a dark hole that I couldn’t get out of. You, Jake, Ashley, Jinxx, Sandra and CC mean so much to me, and I can’t believe that I’m sitting here, having lunch with my fucking Savior. I mean, yeah, I had a little slip up yesterday, but, I know you didn’t mean it, and I just need to work on my confidence skills. You truly are an amazing person Andy, I’m so thankful you hired Acid and I.”

I took another big bite of my sandwich and looked at Andy, whose mouth was hanging open slightly, his eyes locked on mine.

“Destiny, hiring you and Acid was the best decision this band has made in a long time. Our sales have gone up 15% and I couldn’t be happier with who is working our merch tent. You guys mean the world to us.”

“Thanks Andy,” I said, and my cheeks started hurting from smiling so much.

“Come on Destiny, you need to try these, I can’t believe you’ve never had Cracker Jacks!” Andy handed me a box of the caramel popcorn and I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Boxed popcorn?”

“Just eat it! You get a prize when you eat the whole thing!” He sounded like a six-year-old on Christmas morning and I smiled at his light blue eyes.

Andy had taken us to our seats, and surprisingly, they were just normal seats in the middle of the crowd. He had bought snacks, hot dogs, maybe a pound of soda and more Cracker Jacks. He was looking around in every direction, a bright smile plastered onto his face, and he was standing, so he instantly towered over me. People all around us were pointing and murmuring under their breath, but it didn’t seem to bother Andy any.

A couple fans noticed him and asked to take pictures with him. A couple others asked to take pictures with both of us, because apparently, we make a cute couple. Andy agreed to all of them, and signed a few shirts and hats.

Andy finally got to the bottom of the Cracker Jack box and he pulled out a lime green kazoo, with a huge grin on his face. I groaned and laughed as he started to try to play Carolyn through the plastic tube. Some people were getting annoyed after about five minutes of trying to play, and they told him to knock it off.

“Hey, fuck off, we’re all here to have fun and see a baseball game. I happen to be having fun with my friend here, so you can shut your fucking mouth and enjoy your time listening to my beautiful music.” His deep voice took them by surprise and they backed off, not expecting the 6’3”, lanky, gothic looking man to be full of such strong fire power.

The national anthem started to play, and everyone removed their hats and stuck their right hand over their heart, in honor of the Land of the Free. A chorus of over 10,000 people sang along to the choir on the field and as the song came to an end, three jets came flying over the field, sending the crowd into cheering fits.

Seven home-runs, and four boxes of Cracker Jacks later, the Rockies won by five runs, the final score being 12-7. Everyone cleared the stadium, leaving very few people behind in the stands. Andy and I waited until everyone was gone so we wouldn’t be trampled to death trying to get out.

“Well, that was fun,” I said, leaning forward in my seat. I picked up my trash and went to dispose of it in the garbage. Andy followed, along with all of his trash. We threw it away and headed back to the Mustang.

“It was fun, and it was fun because I was with you,” Andy said once we were piled into the Mustang. He smiled at me and wiped away his sweaty hair. It gets hot when you’re Andy Biersack and you always wear black.

I held the daisies in my lap with my legs while I held my phone in one hand and the tiny paper note in the other. I decided to check Instagram, and I found that I had been tagged in several pictures. I clicked on the first one as Andy began to drive and I found that it was a picture of me, Andy, and one of the fans that came up to us at the baseball game.

It read, “Met these two today! So happy right now! @AndyBVB @BVBGirl38”

I smiled and clicked on another picture.

This one was different. “Met my baby today! He had his whore with him, but that doesn’t make a difference. I got *this* close to kissing him. @BVBGirl38 @AndyBVB”

I tapped Andy’s shoulder at a red light and I showed him the picture. He groaned and rolled his eyes.

“People can’t handle the fact that I like you. They aren’t a true member of the BVB Army. Don’t let them get to you Des.” He reached for my hand and he found it, putting it on his thigh. He squeezed my fingers and tried to make me feel better. But the word lingered in my mind.

Am I a whore?...
