Higher Than Heaven

“Oh Anna, you look gorgeous.” Sammi says as I walk out in the third dress. Like the others, it’s black and white. I can’t help but to smile when I look in the mirror; I feel like a bride. “Honey, you look amazing. This is my favorite.”

“Same here.” Carrie says. “Andy is going to be speechless when he sees you walking down the aisle.

“Think so?” I ask I continue to look at myself in the mirror with a huge smile on my lips.

“Anna, you’ve got to get this dress.” Lizzy says. But just as she says this, I hear my phone going off. “Anna, you got a text message.”

“Bring my phone to me.” I tell her. She gets out of her seat and hands me my phone. I open it up and my jaw drops.

“Who is it?” Carrie asks.

“It’s an unknown number.” I reply. “That’s not why I’m shocked. They sent me a picture of Andy kissing another girl followed by a text saying “You look beautiful in that dress but question your groom before making any purchases“.” I feel the color and happiness drain from me. “This isn’t real is it?” I ask them, voice cracking as I’m on the verge of tears. “This has to be photoshopped right? Andy would never cheat on me.”

“I wish we knew, honey.” Sammi soothingly says as she puts a hand on my arm. “Why don’t you go get changed and we’ll go back to your apartment to find out. I’ll ask the girl to hold these three dresses saying you need time to think about them. I’m sure this is just a sick joke by a fan. You know as well as we do, they’ll stop at nothing to wreck a relationship.” I just nod my head before getting off the stand and head back into the dressing room to get changed back into my normal, street clothing.

“So are you going to tell her?” Ashley asks me as all of the band chills at my apartment as we wait for the girls to get back. “Anna has to know.”

“It was only a mistake right?” CC asks.

“A drunken mistake I made three times.” I admit to them; they only knew of the first time and that’s because Ashley caught me.

“You son of a bitch.” Ashley hisses at me. “You’re lucky we’re going on tour soon or I’d kick your fuck ass from here to kingdom come!” I don’t even look up at him. I just blankly stare at the TV screen.

An hour later, the apartment door opens up; revealing the girls and a very sad looking Annabel. “Baby what’s wrong?” I ask her.

“Did you cheat on me?” She asks. I just stare at her with my mouth ajar. “I got a picture of you and another girl kissing sent to me while I was trying on dresses. Is this photoshopped or did you really cheat on me?” She asks as she throws her phone at me. I look down at the picture and feel a lump in my throat. I swallow hard before looking up at the sobbing Annabel. “Are you going to answer me?”

“I did cheat on you with this girl. She was the other band’s merch girl.” I admit to her, causing her to cry harder than before. I watch as she plays with her engagement ring before finally taking it off and placing it on the table.

“Goodbye Andy.” She says before walking away, not even letting me finish. Lizzy snatches Annabel’s phone from me before going after her friend. Sammi and Carrie both shake their heads then follow Lizzy out.

“You really fucked up.” Ashley spits before getting up and following his cousin. One by one the guys leave me. I just sit there as I hear Jake close the door behind them. I feel the tears pricking my tears as the form. Once again, I royally fucked up with Anna…
