Fallen Angels

Andy sped off to his house to save his parents. He wasn’t sure where he was going to take both his family and Alese’s family, but he knew they had to be kept safe, or else they could be used as pawns against them. He made it there in time to see his dad firing a gun at an imp that was trying to get his mom. He swooped down and beheaded it. His dad aimed the gun at him, and then dropped it once he saw Andy’s face.

“Andy?” his dad asked with a shaky voice.
“Yes dad it’s me, there’s not much time to explain, you have to trust me. You need to get in the car and follow me, stop for no one.”
“But we have to…”
“No there is no time, your life hangs in the balance.” He said as more imps approached. “This is just the start, soon they will get bigger and more dangerous.” He said gesturing to the little imps.
His dad nodded and picked up his gun, running and grabbing the car keys while Andy escorted his shocked mom to the car. Andy started clearing a path while his dad followed in the car. Andy felt distress that wasn’t his own. He stopped his dad and told him the directions to the farm and took off after Alese.

He found her trying to fight off some imps with her father. They were using kitchen knives. Andy cut them in half and told her parents to get to the ranch. He took flight once again. He made it there just as his parents did. He went in to find Alese’s grandpa loading his guns and getting food put up.

He looked at Andy, “I have a cellar, get them down there.” He said passing a loaded gun to Andy’s dad and a box of food to his mom. “I’ll be right behind you.”
“But that’s in the ground; you will be more at risk.” Andy said to him.
“No it’s protected.”
Andy gave him a quizzical look.
“We knew this day would come. Alese’s grandmother always had visions of something like this. SO when they started, we wanted to make sure we were prepared. We bought a house in the country and stocked it up. There is food to last over a year, a well is set down there, beds for at least ten people, and a working bathroom.” He smiled, proud of his preparations.
“But that’s not going to stop the demons from entering.” Andy said frantically.
“That was also taken care of. There are spells preventing anything evil from entering.”
Andy gave him a confused look.

“An angel, by the name of, oh what was it, Ashely. He came right after we built and blessed it. He told us that nothing evil could enter, nothing with the intentions of harm, or evil thoughts could enter. Now enough of the questions we are wasting time.” He said slinging a pack over his shoulder and taking off outside.

At this time they heard frantic yelling, it was Alese and her family. They had arrived. Andy ran out to meet them and directed them to the cellar. Once everyone was safe inside he turned to Alese, “I am going back to the house to grab clothes for all of them, stay here until I return.”
She shook her head, “I am going with you.”
“No it’s too dangerous; the stronger demons will be out in a few hours. We can risk your capture.”
“I am going and that’s that.” She said crossing her arms.
Andy sighed, he knew he couldn’t win. “Fine, but we must fly; the sky is the safest place. Get Gimli down in the cellar so he is safe.”

She nodded and brought him around back, it took some bribes, but soon he was down in the cellar lying on some hay.

“Umm Andy.” Alese said with alarm in her eyes. “I have no idea how to work these things.” She said gesturing to her wings.
“They are a part of you, just tell them to move.”
She nodded and unfurled them from behind her back.

“Good, now take a running start and think about them carrying you upward.” She nodded and took off. She jumped up and let out a powerful downward stroke. Then she forgot to do it again and came crashing down, luckily Andy saw it coming and was there to catch her. They soared up together, Alese getting the hang of her wings, and Andy feeling her pure bliss from flying for the first time. They landed at her house first. Taking out a few imps on their landing, and rushing into the house to get what was needed. Alese grabbed a photo album and they went for clothes. After that was all packed, they headed for his house. He grabbed clothes for his parents and their wedding picture. By the time they were headed back to the ranch, it was night fall and they could see fires all across the town. Andy could feel Alese’s distress, but there was nothing to be done at the time.

They made it back to the ranch. They raced down to the cellar in hopes that nothing had happened to their family. When they made it to the door they were alarmed to see imps bursting into flames as they tried to break in. Andy pulled out his sword and gutted them all where they stood. They entered and were relieved to see that no one was harmed.

Luckily for them Alese’s grandfather had told their parents most of what was happening so that was a few less questions, but they still had plenty more. They asked about the wings, the demons, and what was causing all of this. Before they could answer someone came through the door. Andy drew his sword and pushed Alese behind him. Before he could attack though he saw wings. They didn’t have the red tint, so he knew they weren’t demonic. He looked up and saw a failure face, but before he could say anything Alese’s grandfather jumped up and hugged the winged man.

“Ashely you are back!” he shouted joylessly.
“I am. I see you have kept this place in good standing like I requested. As I told you before, no evil can be allowed in however if it is already in, it cannot be stopped.” He turned to Andy. “Dear friend we meet again.” He said placing his fist over his heart and bowing.
Andy returned the gesture. “How did you end up here? Please don’t tell me you were exiled.” He said looking concerned.
“No nothing of the short, but some of us were made for war. The time has come; we now follow your order, leader.” Ashley said getting on one knee and bowing.
“Wait you said we?” Andy asked baffled.
“Yes there are at least 25 of us, others are forging weapons, blessing churches and holy ground, or trying to save families. But we 25 are here for war, to follow you and your queen and end Lucifer once and for all.” Ashley said standing back up.
Andy still was trying to process all of it. “Are they outside?” Ashley nodded, “We are awaiting your orders.”

“Let’s go outside.” Ashely nodded and Andy followed him out, followed by Alese.
Andy gasped when he saw they others. He knew many of them, Jinxx, CC, Jake, Vic, Mike, Alex, Jack. He was happy to have friends by his side fighting. He already knew he needed a base of operations set up, that was first priority. The second was finding food and setting up shelters for the survivors. He sent half out to find survivors and food and kept his friends close. He looked to them. “I need you guys to turn this ranch into our operations base. We need it safe for all.” They nodded, and took off but he stopped Ashely, Jack, and Alex. “I need you guys to do something else. Ashely there is a spot; you will feel the memory there that is where Alese and I’s place is to be set up.” Ashley nodded, not needing any more information. He looked to Alex and Jack, “As for you two, you made my sword and taught me to use it. Now I ask you do the same for Alese. She needs to be able to protect herself. There isn’t much time, I also want you set up a training ring for any humans who want to learn to fight and you guys are in charge of it.” They nodded and set off to find materials and get ready.

As they left Andy sighed. Alese went up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head in-between his wings. He could feel her love for him in the bond. He knew that no matter how hard the task, he would do it to save his beloved.

Okay so I had to add some more band member because I am just a band freak! Soon, so very soon Lucifer will show up! Let the drama begin!
