Room 101...

Light at the end of the tunnel...

Susan got in the front of the car and drove to the hospital, while I held Hailey in my arms. She looked so peaceful as her eyes were closed, a small smile on her face. I smiled. and gently kissed the side of her head. Her eyes opened and I saw her face turn a slight shade of pink, making me chuckle. "You ok down there?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. "Yeah." She said, giggling. "Good."
"Remind me where were going again?"
"The hospital, were going to get you medicene and maybe more help."
"Oh, Thank you Andy."
"No problem babe." I said, and she leaned up, gently kissing me. I smiled into the kiss, and pulled away, kissing her nose before she lay back down on my lap.

We finally got to the hospital, and I got out one side, and ran round the side of the car to help Hailey. I grabbed her hand, and gently led her towards the doors. She nearly fell over a few times, and stumbled, but apart from that she as ok. I saw a few people staring at her, and giving her dirty looks, but I didn't react the way I normally would by shouting at them. I knew that if she knew that people were staring at her, it would kill her. I just started at them, making them feel uncomfortable so that they would stop. We walked into the hostpital, and Susan walked straight to the front desk. The youngish woman behind the counter stared at us. She was wearing bright green eyeshadow, had her hair scraped back into a tight, greasy pony tale, had in huge hoops, and was clearly chewing gum. Her eyes shifted to Hailey who wasn't focusing on anything at all, and just seemed to have her eyes wandering about.

"How can I help you?" She asked, giving Hailey the dirtiest look ever. I started at her, waiting for her to say something so I could pounce. "Yes I'm here to see Doctor Tennant." Susan said, and she sighed, not shifting her gaze from Hailey. I continued to stare at her, making her feel uncomfortable. "Do you have an appointment?"
"No but i'm also a doctor so he should have time."
"You can't see him without an appoint-"
"Just call him, I have no time for your back chat." Susan said, and the girl picked up the phone and began talking to someone. After a few minutes she put down the phone and looked back at us. "He'll be down in a minute so just take a seat." She said. I nodded, giving her a drity look before sitting down. "Here sit on my lap the chairs arn't very comfy." I said, pulling Hailey onto my lap.

She smiled at me and gently kissed the tip of my nose. I smiled, and looked at her. "We shouldent be here long, they shoudl give us the perscription and then we can go home." I said, and I saw her face drop. "What home? I have no home."
"You do."
"Where?"
"Your coming to live with me. I'm going to look after you." I said, and her eyes lit back up. "Really?"
"Really." I said, and pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank you." She whispered, and I smiled, gently kissing her neck, making her giggle. After a while a man in a white coat walked up to us, and sat dow beside Susan. "Nice to see you again." He said, and Susan smiled. "I know, long time no see."
"What brings you here?"
"Hailey, she needs more medication." She said, looking at Hailey. He looked at her, and stared for a few minutes. She wasn't looking straight at him, just slightly past him, and you could tell that she didn't really have a clue where he was. "Right. You need to come with me to a room for her." He said, and I nodded, gently lifting Hailey off my lap, and leading her by the hand to the room.

The doctor sat her down on the bed, and sat down beside her. "So you Hailey?" He asked and she nodded, looking down. "I know what you have so don't worry about having to tell me. I know people with your condition and I know some people like to feel features so I dont mind if you want to feel my face." He said, and she smiled. "Really?"
"Yeah." He said, and she genty begun to feel out his features. I smiled, remembering the first time she did that to me After she finished he gently slid off the bed and looked at us all. "Right now I just need to do a quick examination, just to check she's ok. Is that alright?" He asked, and we all nodded. "So If it's ok can you leave please? Just for a few minutes while I examin her." He said, and me and Susan nodded, leaving the room.

After about ten minutes he reapeared out side the door. "Right who is taking on her medicen?" He asked. "Me." I said. "Right, you better come with me for a few minutes in my office." He said, and I followed him to his office, and sat down. "Right, so at the moment she is on the drip every three days?"
"Yeah."
"Right. Now I know it might drag but I need to tell you of another thing that has just been introduced. It invloves two operations over a long period of time. The first one is to get rid of all the damaged cells and the actually illness cells, so there is nothing in her body at all with the illness in it to spread. It will leave her shaken for a few days and she will feel run down, but after a few weeks she should be fine. The second operation is to fix her eyes seeing as they have been completly destoryed by the illness. It will make her eyes go a normal colour, and she will also be able to see for the first time in her life. But she will have to do the whole thing awake, and it will be uncomfortable for her, but you should be allowed in there to keep her comfort, and to keep her company while she's in there. Her eyes will be covered for a few days, but then she should be able to see clearly then."

I smiled. She would be able to see for the first time. See me clearly, be able to look someone in the eye, be able to see what everyone else is seeing. "Will the illness be gone?"
"It should be, but she will have to keep coming back once every month so we can keep an eye on it, but reseerch shows that it should be gone." He said, and I grinned to myself. She would live a longer life, be ilness free. We would be able to spend the rest of our lives together, instead of her days being numbered. "How much is it?" I asked, and he passed me a piece of paper. Jesus christ that was expensive..but then again, that was nothing compared to her life, and her life to me was pricless. "I'll do it. I'll pay it." I said, and he nodded. "We'll have to go an talk to her first." He said, and I nodded, following him out of the room. I so hoped that she would agree to it. I couldent lose her, not ever...
