For the love of my father

As Andy drives down the streets of L.A. we sing along to a Sixx am song .

"So where do you want to go to eat ?" Andy asks turning down the music once the song ended.

"Umm... I don't know.. we never really ate out a lot at the foster home..." I say looking out the window.

Andy laughs and keeps driving .

"I know the perfect place then ... You like sushi?" I nod "then we will go get some at this amazing place I know ,its about 40 minutes away though."

Andy gets on the freeway happily .While he drives he hums a little song that I've never heard before .

"Whats that song you're singing? " I ask .

Andy looks over at me and smiles .

" A new song that Im working on I don't have lyrics for it yet though just the instrumental parts so far." he says .

"its really pretty so far." I tell him smiling back at him.

"Thank you that means a lot to me."

We keep driving in comfortable silence . I look out the window to see nothing but desert with the occasional free way signs . I end up getting my sketch book out of my purse and start drawing the desert around me . I use my Color pencils to make the white page a brown sahara with Joshua trees and bushes all around. Then I start working on a warrior Andy in nothing but a black vest , leather pants and combat boots with black warrior paint on his face and body .

Andy starts humming again but Im so wrapped up in my drawing I don't pay attention to when i start singing nonexistent lyrics to the song .

"My fairytale was a sham I hope one day he'll understand that he should of gave a damn..."

"Woah ... where'd you learn to sing?You're amazing ! Where did those lyrics come from ? i could work with those .." Andy says looking at me nearly hitting the car in front of him.

"I uhh just made them up ..."I say shyly.

" They were awesome ... maybe we could work on this new song together ?"

I nod and finish drawing Ashley next to Jinxx and the rest of the band all wearing similar outfits to Andy's.

"We are almost there . Is that a new drawing? Can I see?" Andy asks.

I hold my sketch book to my chest blushing.

"Um im not sure..." I whisper and look around to see a small town around us. "where are we?'

"A town called Victorville the place I was telling you about is only up here but its worth the drive." he answers me smiling and parking the car.

I get out of the car as Andy does and start walking up to the small restaurant called Oasis sushi by Soya sushi. I feel someone grab my hand and pull me close to them. As I look to see who the person was I see Andy's smiling face. This was so inappropriate but I didn't care. We walk into the restaurant and are lead to a small table in the corner. The waitress hands us a menu and walks away to get our waters . Andy scans the menu telling me whats good and what not . I look at his smiling face and melt on the inside.The waitress brings us our drinks .

"Is there anything that looks good to you ?" she asks.

I look at Andy's smiling face.

"Oh you have no idea."
