For the love of my father

I stick my headphones back into my ears , pull my black hair out of my ponytail and continue sketching in my sketch book. Jamie , one of the younger children in our foster home , just came to tell me the "good news". Potential adopters were here to possibly take one of us to our "forever" homes. Only the little kids get picked, like puppies , I remember when i was young and would get my hopes up like jamie was at the moment. Jamie runs out of my room and down the stairs to meet the strangers.
I peek my head out the window overlooking the front of the house to see a black cadillac in our drive way . Who ever the adopters were they must have some money. Just as I pop my head back in my room mate Alie comes into the room sighing and flopping down on her small twin size bed .

"Whats the matter with you ?" I ask not really interested or paying attention.

" Whats wrong with me? Kate and Michele wont let any of us see the future adopters till they come to our rooms! then they will see our room with all your weird creepy goth stuff and think im just as weird and not adopt me!!! AUUUUGGHHH!!!" she finishes her rant.

Have I mentioned I hate her? no? well I fucking do . just because I like post hard core music and rock ' n ' roll doesn't mean im goth. Me liking the color black and having a million band posters doesn't mean im goth either. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover , but in her case what you assume is probably true . Alie has been in the house for about a year now 11 months , 25 days , and 3 house to be exact. Im counting down the days till she leaves . She's a primpy 15 year old bitch who thinks she Gods gift to us here at the foster home and everywhere else .

" Fuck you,you little shit im not goth"

" God I hate you Kait !!" she snarls saying my name like kate " I cant wait till i leave , which I will unlike you."

"Why do you always have to say my name like kate? its pronounced Kat!"

I hated that she was right though . Out of 10 kids im the one who's been here the longest since i was 5 and abandoned by my mother . I don't know why Ive never been adopted but you live with the cards you're dealt. I hear kate walking up the stairs probably with the adopters. I pause my music and listen to what she is saying.

" I have just the perfect child for you!!!" she says as her foot steps get closer. " you'll love her she's very smart, talented, and loves the type of music you sing"

She must be talking about Alie or one of the other girls . I turn my music up full volume as i see Alie fixing her hair in the mirror. My new favorite song 'Lost it all' by Black veil brides came on and I started singing softly along as i drew in my sketch book .

"I believe that we all fall down sometimes ohhhhhhh ohhh ohhh ohhhh , cant you see that we all fall down sometimes "

Our door opens but I continue to sketch .All I hear is mumbling from my foster mother and hateful roommate I hear two voices that i don't know , but refuse to look at them. I start sketching deep beautiful eyes in detail when Kate pulls my head phones out .
I ook away from my drawing only to lock eyes with the persons who's eyes I was drawing. OMFG!!!!! I stare stunned at him mesmerized. This cant be happening i cant believe it oh gosh !!! Andy biersack stares back at me and next to him is juliet simms .

"Kait." Kate says saying my name right, " This couple is interested in meeting you today , I think ,"she looks around my side of the room and smiles when she sees the same person there as right next to her," that you are the perfect child for them!"

" Hi there ! Im Juliet and this is Andy!" she says

" I know who he is and you too for that matter " I reply .I get up from my bed slowly and smile ." This must be a dream…. you are my favorite singer in the world you… kinda saved my life." I tell Andy softly .

" Woah thank you thats a huge complement ! right andy ?" Juliet asks

Her voice is like nails on a chalk board but I had to be nice my idol was here and she was his … wait is that an engagement ring?!

" Yeah it is thank you so much im happy my music is that motivational to you " Andy says calmly smiling.

He looks at Juliet and asks to talk to Kate in the hall for a minute. As they are leaving Juliet gives me a huge hug I don't get hugged much so I freeze up. She smiles and walks out of the room to join Andy. I cant believe he's here in my foster home ! Its the first time in all of my almost 17 years of life that ive been truly happy.

Andy walks back in followed by a very happy looking Juliet and Kate. I grab my sketch book forgetting the picture of Andy that I was finishing and hold it out to him with my pen .

"Will you sign this please ? It would mean the world to me…" I ask shyly .

He laughs and takes the sketch book . " Woah you are really good at drawing. It looks just like me."

I blush and try to turn the page to a blank one but Andy holds it up to high for me to reach.

" Calm down this is really good" he says as he signs the picture making it the most amazing picture ever.

Then he continues the flip through the book that was filled with pictures of him , tattoo ideas, and other drawings .

"Babe look at these aren't they great?" he asks Juliet , who nods in agreement.

He hands me back my sketchbook and I stare at his signature happily reading what he wrote underneath it . ' To Kait (kat) who is the worlds biggest fan and a terrific artist . im sure you'll be an equally as good daughter - andy biersack aka dad.' I stare at him confused .Juliet smiles and decides its her cue to talk.

" Kait , we would like to adopt you! we know you are a little old but we still have time to be a family I mean you are almost 17 but it would make us so happy if you allowed us to adopt you!!!!"

" I… " I was stunned into silence . Thankfully Alie finally spoke up.

" Her?! Why her?!" she yells .

Andy looks at her and smirks a bit " Cause she's the perfect choice. "

and so my life as kait biersack began…..
