Turn Out The Lights

An Unpleasant Reunion

Lisbeth’s POV

Papa and Mama were leaving today and so were the guys and Sammi. I didn’t feel safe with leaving Andy alone. Especially with my cousin Gretchen; she would have her fangs all over him. She would know he’s mine the minute she catches his scent and if I caught even a wiff of her on him, I’d collect her fucking head.
We sat in the back seat with Andy, Jinxx and Jake as Papa drove to the airport, Abigail and Avira followed behind us with CC, Ashley and Sammi. I laced my fingers tightly with Andy’s and breathed heavily.
“It’ll be ok,” Andy whispered, “I promise,” I believed him. I loved him. I could feel Papa staring at us from a slide-glance; slamming on the breaks he cheerily shouted, “Here!” I got out and walked close to Andy. Abigail followed behind and Avira looked out from above the airport ceiling to watch out for anything suspicious. “Flight 357 from Denver to Oslo is now boarding,” said the lady over the intercom.
“We better hurry,” I whispered, I held his hand tightly and lead him to the gate.
“This is it, isn’t it?” he said turning to look at me. “Yeah, but Papa said in a month I could come see you guys,” I said trying not to cry.
“I’ll be counting the days,” he said kissing my forehead. Feeling his warm lips against my head made everything better. My eyes shot open and my nostrils flared. That smell! It smelt like corpses…death in walking form. Oh God, not now.
“Lisbeth?” Abigail asked concerned,
“Get them on the plane now,” I growled. Everybody boarded the plane; the guys, Mama and Papa were the last to board. Quickly they handed their tickets and made their way to the plane.
Suddenly, screams broke loose in the airport. “ZOMBIES!” a lady screamed, “shit,” Abigail cursed, “this can’t be happening,”
“Lisbeth!” cried Andy standing in the plane entrance, I turned and shouted at him.
“Andy, get on the plane!”
“I’m not leaving you!” he cried; I swallowed hard and pushed him back and slammed the door shut, locking it. My heart sank.
“Lisbeth!” he screamed pounding on the door, I let out a bloody tear and mouthed, “I’m sorry,” I watched as Jake, Jinxx and even Papa dragged him away.
“What do we do?” asked Avira appearing beside me. “We kill the fuckers,” I growled. People screaming and running in all directions, airport security and even police officers just arriving to the scene were trying to contain he chaos.
“Where are they coming from?” Avira asked,
“I don’t know but there’s too many of them!” Abigail readied her green glowing balls of fire, we were about to be enclosed when suddenly they dropped dead.
“Abigail,” said a dark voice echoing throughout the airport,
“Bella!” screamed Abigail harshly, “Show yourself!”
“Oh, sweet sister that wouldn’t be any fun,” the voice chuckled; the rotting dead rose back to their feet and presumed to enclose us.
Plane engines began roaring; I turned my head and watched as Andy’s plane took off. Oh God, be safe my love.

Abigail’s POV

My energy was draining quickly. These things just kept coming and what was even worse; there were still humans in the room. They were hiding. Watching and waiting for the right moment to escape. I watched Lisbeth one by one tear the head off each corpse and Avira one by one disintegrating each one from the inside out till there was nothing but piles of dust.
“Give up,” Bella chimed, “you’ll never win,” she cackled.
“Shut up!” I screamed, just then a plume of black smoke descended in front of me.
“Abigail, darling,” she grinned evilly, her silver white hair in tight curls and tangles from being so mad. Her skin still pale as ever since my mother and grandmother locked her away and eyes as black as a month’s winter sky; revealing nothing but pure darkness.
“Bella,” I cringed, “stop this!”
“Stop what?” she said coyly, she waved her hand and sat on her throne of black smoke,
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to!”
“Oh and what is that, dear sister?”
“Gabriel freed you from your prison in exchange for revenge on Demetrius!”
“Oooh, right on the money,” suddenly I was hung upside down in a chain of black smoke, Bella rose from her throne.
“Sister,” she whispered coming closer looking into my eyes, “see my hair,” I didn’t speak,
“Well,” she snapped, “my hair was just as gorgeous and black as yours…until grandma convinced mother that it’d be best to lock me away, they thought I was mad,” her eyes grew bigger and darker, her lips pouty and eyebrows arched,
“Bella, they had to, they saw what you were capable of!”
“Oh, you mean ruling over unruly humans like the boys you’re trying so desperately to protect?”
“Don’t you dare speak of them!”
“Oh why ever not,” she giggled falling back into her throne, “does somebody have feelings for them, more specifically, that Jake boy?”
“You stay away from him!” I screamed,
“And if I don’t?” she teased. I squirmed furiously in her trap of smoky chains, “I’ll take away all your powers and keep them for myself,”
“Oh you wouldn’t!” she cried sarcastically, “take away my powers? Oh please have mercy!” her playful face vanished and her usual sick, twisted gaze came over her, “you are weak and have no such ability!” she waved her arm and released me to fall on the floor. I crashed on the floor hard and groaned,
“Sister,” she said leaning close to me, “revenge is only half of the deal,” she grinned, “Gabriel wants you,” my heart fell into my stomach, “and he wants you alive.”
“You’d throw your own flesh and blood to the wolves, literally!” I cringed, she paused playfully for a moment, “hmm, yes, I would,” she went into a cackling fit and ascended into midair, rolling in a fit of evil laughter.
“Well, time’s a wastin’!” she smiled, before I knew it, I was back in those smoky chains unable to move, “Gabriel is anxious to see you.”
God give me strength.

Andy’s POV

“Andy sit down, you’re scaring the other passengers!” Jinxx implored,
“What other passangers? We’re the only ones in first class!” I screamed,
“Andy!” Drac said coldly, “It is out of our hands now, so please control yourself!”
“How is it out of our hands? You left Lisbeth to battle those things on her own! You call yourself a grandfather!” and at that moment, it took me a second to process what I had just set. Drac’s gaze grew red and he came closer to me which made me feel uneasy, “I’d watch your tongue if I were you, mortal,” he growled lowly.
“I love my granddaughter very much,” he said his voice weakening a little, “she is strong and she is brave, I know she’ll be alright,” he looked away sadly.
“How do you know?” I asked,
“Because she is just like her mother,” a tear streamed down his cheek, Ilona rushed to hold him, “Maria was my only daughter and my only joy,” he sniffled slightly,
“What happened?” Sammi asked softly.
“Abraham van Helsing,” he growled, “he came into Maria’s life and they…they…” Drac choked,
“They fell in love,” Jinxx said surprised,
“Yes,” he sighed, “Maria only lived to see Lisbeth become four years of age and Abraham only lived to see her just be born,”
“What happened?” Jake asked,
Drac began to choke again, “the council happened; myself and eight other vampire officials were ordered to rid the world of Lisbeth, Abraham tried to defend his wife and child but…he fell short and died after a great struggle,”
“And Maria?” asked Sammi,
“I told the council I could not kill my daughter or my granddaughter,” he sobbed wiping away his bloody tears, “so I locked them away from the world; kept them in my castle for a hundred and twenty eight years till one night…the villagers came to our doors; insisting that it was my daughter who had been killing their livestock for blood, I told them she had done no such thing…but they broke down the doors, they came…and they took her away…” he cried,
“And Lisbeth?”
“She was still a baby back then, only four years old; in vampire time we age much slower than most of our kind, it’s a skill we learn to acquire when we know how control our thirst,”
“She has no memory of her mother or father what so ever?” asked Sammi,
“None,” he replied, “I haven’t had the heart to tell her,”
“Drac,” I said standing up, “maybe it’s time to be a grandpa and tell her,” Drac took a jagged breath and nodded his head, “I will when we go back but for now, we have to keep going forward; Lisbeth is ok, I can feel it,”
