We'll Get Through This Together-Andy Biersack

Chapter 8- Lady Batman

Chapter 8- Lady Batman
I wake up at 7:30 like I have been for the past couple of days. I didn’t fall asleep until 5am so I only got a couple of hours of sleep. I should be okay. Mom and dad haven’t noticed my ribs which is good. At my old school this would happen once every couple of months depending on how harsh people were feeling so I got pretty good at covering it up.
I get into the shower and umm…have a shower.
I get out and dress in batman themed clothes like Andy suggested yesterday. He said that we should both wear Batman stuff to school and since we were pretty much ‘outcasts’ we both thought that it was a great idea. I put on my clothes (photo on the side, Andy’s outfit is also there and let’s pretend that the batman leggings are skinny jeans, and yes they’re wearing the same bracelets awwz) http://25.media.tumblr.com/25c781b2c27c0b02021a38758cf038e5/tumblr_mgeyspnJ7t1rd668ko1_500.jpg and then flat iron my hair. I put on my usual eye makeup and then grab my bag. I’m running late so I forget about breakfast and head downstairs.
“Bye mom, bye dad.” I say giving them each a hug.
“Bye Imogen, have a great day.” The say at the same time.
“I will.” I lie.
I walk out the door and see Andy dressed in Batman clothes.
“Hello there Batman.” I joke as I walk over to him.
“Hi Lady Batman.” Andy smiles.
We hug and start walking to school.
“You should hang out with me and Scout after school.” Andy says putting his arm around my shoulder.
“If you say so.” I sigh.
“Yay.” Andy cheers, but for some reason I feel like he’s only asking me over because he feels sorry for me.
We go into school and everyone starts staring at us. Andy removes his arm from my shoulder and we go to our lockers.
“Superheros are for guys.” Megan snarls as she walks past me.
“No, they’re not actually. Batman is one of my superheros. Not all superheros wear capes, mine sing.” I blurt out. “You can hurt me all you want but it’s not going to make you a better person.”
I hear her heels click against the tiles of the school floor as she stomps away.
Her friends go to join her but one of them, I think her name is Lisa, slaps me across the face.
“Your superheros are faggots.” She walks away pretty happy with herself.
I rub my cheek and walk to F5 for English. For some reason they want us to have 3 lessons per fortnight, weird. I walk over to the class room with my headphones in my ears listening to ‘Sleeping With Sirens - Four Corners and Two Sides’. I walk through the door and see Andy sitting at the back of the classroom with a spare seat next to him. I go and sit down next to him and take my headphones out.
The bell rings for the second time and the latecomers rush through the door.
“It appears that we have Batman and Robin in our class room.” Miss South says happily. She’s a lovely teacher; you know one of those happy teachers who doesn’t yell at her class.
“I’m Batman and she’s Lady Batman.” Andy smiles at the teacher.
“It’s great to see some individuality in this classroom.” She smiles.
Miss South takes the roll and then asks us for our papers that were due today. Luckily I finished mine the day that I got it. It was pretty easy. We had to write about our heroes. Now let me tell you, I have a lot of them.
“As a surprize, instead of doing work I’m going to take a paper out from your pile of work and you’re going to read out your papers. First up is Jamie.” Miss South explains.
7 students and 35 minutes later I’m completely bored to death. 3 girls talked about how hot One Direction were and babbled on about their looks. 1 person was a very slow speaker but their paper was good, 1 person read to quickly so I only understood half of it and the other person, I forgot what they did.
“Andy.” The teacher called.
Andy didn’t let me read his paper before he handed it in so I have no idea what or who it’s about.
“My heroes are my mother, my father, Batman and my best friend. My mom and dad always stand by me no matter what I want to do. Dad believes that one day the band that I’m in will become big and he tells me every day to never stop chasing my dreams. Even though most of you may call it ‘gay’ and ‘emo’ I don’t care, because it’s what I want to do. My mother believes that anything can come true no matter what. She’s just like my dad. Batman is something that me and my dad have always had in common. He introduced me to Batman comics when I was young and my love for Batman started there. And my best friend, I couldn’t thank her enough. She’s showed me that there’s beauty in the world. She’s smart, caring, and beautiful. Scout is defiantly my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her.” I stop focusing at that point. I actually literally feel like I’m going to be sick.
The room fills with applause which I could tell most of it was fake. The teacher tells Andy that he did a great job and he sits back down next to me.
“That was great.” I fake smile.
“Thanks.” He smiles.
“Imogen.” The teacher calls. Oh no. I wrote about Andy being my best friend at the end. I’ll just not say it.
“Well, this is going to sound really silly but my heroes are musicians. Green Day, that whole band has helped me so much and I owe everything to them,” I keep on reading out my paper. The class claps quietly and I go back to my seat.
“What about this big part at the bottom?” The teacher asks.
“Oh, that. It doesn’t matter anymore.” I sigh. I hold back my tears and remain quiet for the rest of class.
It’s lunch time so Andy and I go sit at our table. I go and get something to eat but end up just coming back with a RedBull, I don’t feel like eating.
Andy goes to get his lunch and comes back a hamburger and fries. “Aren’t you going to eat something?” Andy asks.
“I’m not hungry.” I reply quietly.
“You haven’t talked much either, are you sure everything’s okay?” Andy asks.
I nod my head. “Everything’s fine.” I lie.
“Okay, you’ll tell me if something’s wrong won’t you?”
“Yeah.” I say.
We sit in silence for a few minutes. “I’m going to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.” I say getting up and leaving. I can’t take it anymore.
Why did I even consider him to be my best friend? I’ve only known him for week, not even a week. I’m so stupid; I should have just stayed friendless. I walk into the bathroom and Megan just happens to be touching up her caked face.
“If you’re going to do something get it over and done with.” I sigh as she glares at me.
She punches me right in the stomach causing me to hurry to a toilet and puke up the contents of my stomach. Due to me not eating breakfast and skipping lunch all that comes up is bile. She laughs and walks off. I fix myself up and walk back to the table where Andy is still sitting. I only went to the bathroom to get away from him.
“Hey, how are you?” He asks.
“I saw you 5 minutes ago. I’m fine. How are you?” I ask.
“I’m great, just 2 more hours till I see Scout.” He says with an excited tone.
I nod my head and we continue with the school day.
