I was walking along one if the many trails in the forest behind my house. My music was blaring and if I wasn't so focused on that I would have noticed the shadows cowering away from me. I gasped as I felt something burning hot grab my back. I turned and punched whatever it was square in the face. "Oof!" It let out as it crumbled to the ground. "Who are you." I growled my voice loud and strong. "Andy. Fallen Angel at your service." He mumbled his deep voice sending chills down my back. "Yea right. Knock it out, I'm not falling for another one of your jokes." I growled the memory of Lance (school jerk kinda needy) when he took my photos and made me think he was my dad. I slumped down to my knees so I could look at the figure. His piercing blue eyes were sad and almost distant but his face was set into a scowl and his hair, although long, was neatly tucked behind his ears held in place by a red bandana. "Fallen Angel, not a random kid." He mumbled. "Fallen angel? What did you do?" I asked slightly scared worried that he was going to harm me all of a sudden. "I wasn't kicked out, I left. I didn't belong." He said standing so we were face to face. I turned my music off and scanned the area. "The shadow men seem to fear you..." I said noticing how the shadows avoided him like the plague. "They should be, I've killed thousands of their kind." He said calmly. "It's not safe here though..." I said trying to leave when the shadow wrapped around my ankle and Andy grabbed my wrist. I winced as the shadow moved up my body leaving a long bloody scratch. Andy kicked it off and hugged me close so the shadows would flea. " I need to get you back to base..." He mumbled as my leg began to grow numb. I groaned in protest when he tried to get me to stand and relaxed hen he put me down. I heard him tell me to stay awake but it was too hard and I fell asleep moments later.
